Release information

In Japan, this card was reprinted with artwork from one of five winning entries of the Nintendo 64 Pokémon Snap contest held in Spring 1999. This version is extremely rare and the exact number in existence is unknown. This card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection reprint sets, which were only released outside of Japan. A special reprint with redrawn art by Mitsuhiro Arita was released in the Stormfront set. This print modified some of the card text to bring it in line with modern card wording whilst still allowing it to retain its original effects.

Trivia

The Japanese "Snap" print has a camera graphic where an expansion symbol would usually be. Unlike the majority of the cards released through the Spring 1999 Pokémon Snap contests, the "Snap" print does not feature additional text on the bottom right.

Origin

Scratch and Ember are both moves in the Pokémon games that can be learned by Charmander. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Stormfront Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon FireRed.
