Connecting Cave (Japanese: 地つなぎの洞穴 Connecting Cave) is a cave located in the Kalos region. It is also known as Zubat Roost (Japanese: ズバットたちのすみか Zubat Roost).
Geography
Connecting Cave is a two-parted cave connecting Route 7 to Route 8 and Cyllage City, although the Cyllage City entrance is initially off-limits due to Strength boulders blocking the path there, effectively preventing the player from taking a direct shortcut to or from the city before earning the Cliff Badge from Grant. The cave has received its additional name due to the large number of Zubat that inhabit it. In the southern tunnel, a female Scientist will heal the player's Pokémon if she's talked to.

X & Y arc
Connecting Cave was briefly mentioned by Cassius in Dancing Vivillon. While flying X, Y, and their friends from the Battle Chateau to Cyllage City with a helicopter, Cassius explained that flying to Cyllage City would be both easier and safer than going through Connecting Cave, which is infested with hordes of Zubat and could also serve as a location for Team Flare to ambush the group.
Trivia
- Pokémon Breeder Mercy's Japanese name, Ikue, and the fact that she uses a Pikachu, are references to Ikue Otani, the voice actress of Ash's Pikachu in the Pokémon anime.
