==Professor Elm== | |||
If you take the Spiky-eared Pichu to Professor Elm, he will call the Pokémon centres to prevent it from being traded. But what if you didn't take it to Professor Elm, and attempted to trade it? Will it work? The game makes it seem that it can't be traded after you take it to Professor Elm. So I'm assuming that if Elm doesn't see the Spiky-eared Pichu, he can't stop you from trading it. Can the Spiky-Eared Pichu be shiny, or can it not?! THe last two sections that talked about this had no definitive conclusion in them. First, it would be good to note this in the article. Gizamimi
I do wonder. Should we have the page at Gizamimi Pichu, since that's the "official" name used in the calendars and such? TTEchidna 20:51, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Probably. Is it ever 'officially' called Notched-ear Pichu??? --Theryguy512 21:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
---This is true but I think it would make the page impossible to find. Most people probably know it as Notched-Ear Pichu as opposed to Gizamimi Pichu. --The Great Butler 01:21, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

- Does Pichu have any other ability I'm not aware of. I find it odd that when an anime Pokemon only has one ability, its not confirmed, I realize that a Pokemon can have 2 abilities, but I don't buy that since it goes along the gender differences. A certain Pokemon had Ability A prior to Generation X. And there's no conflicting information (albeit speculative) that a Pokemon in the anime can't have both abilities, like in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. --Dman dustin 02:23, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

"Her physical appearance is no different from an ordinary Pichu, other than the three spikes at the tip of her left ear, hence her name." LOL?
If that's supposed to make sense it would have to be either:
-"...other than three notches..."
or it's name being: Three-spikes-ear-Pichu
Since when the word notch can mean extensions of something is beyond my logic anyway.
–noun
1. an angular or V-shaped cut, indentation, or slit in an object, surface, or edge.
2. a cut or nick made in a stick or other object for record, as in keeping a tally.
3. New England and Upstate New York. a deep, narrow opening or pass between mountains; gap; defile.
4. Informal. a step, degree, or grade: This camera is a notch better than the other.
5. Metallurgy. a taphole in a blast furnace: iron notch; cinder notch.
If there were cuts into it's ear, absolutely. but there is nothing missing and three spikes added instead, like the article already says, so wtf.
Jagged-ear-Pichu would make sense. --Saiph charon 07:19, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

From the new screen shots, you see Notched-Ear Pichu following behind the player. This might hint that it's been captured, for only captured Pokémon can follow the player. And because it was captured, it means that it is was a wild Pokémon.--☆Tavisource 18:11, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Spiky-ear Pichu is the only in game event Pokémon that is not in its movie location? Unless we have to wait till movie 13 is fully announced and the cast goes to Johto and all.--Midnight Blue 00:06, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Trade
I think some clarification is needed. Is this Pichu unable to be traded AT ALL, or just unable to be traded to D/P/P? I mean, could I trade it from HeartGold to SoulSilver or to another HeartGold? Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 22:44, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it isn't tradable, period. But i don't own HG/SS, so I may be wrong. ShinyPika 19:32, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- I would ask TTE since he has the game. But anyway I think it would be a no because then someone could get two Spiky-eared Pichus! Of course it could just turn normal. Maybe if you send it it to D/P it would become shiny . . . just a thought. -- Landfish7 21:46, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Did you read the article? It says trading it isn't possible because the people at the Pokemon Center make sure it isn't traded! -- Landfish7 21:48, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- I believe trading it is completely banned, though sooner or later someone cheats into the trade center, in which case the outcome cannot be predicted. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 21:50, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- If it's merely a matter of the NPC not letting you into the Trade Station with it in your party, couldn't you simply by-pass that with a simple "Walk Through Walls" cheat to get past them? --Dual 17:44, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

No, you can't do that, or at least you couldn't in DP. On of my friend's ded that and got stuck because his Action Replay failed on him. I suggested walking into the door, but the game just keeped freezing, though one time he made it in and the room was filled with some of those fighting type trainers (What were they called again?). Ditto
If a Ditto transforms into a Notched-Ear Pichu, will it have a notched ear? --Kimori Geckarbor Hinoarashi 21:51, 11 October 2009 (UTC) Kimori Geckarbor Hinoarashi
- My 2¢: I would say so. But, I don't own a copy of HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions. Also, if a Ditto transforms into a Giratina Origin it appears in it's Altered Forme. So who knows! Someone should look into this. ShinyPika 22:58, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well the reason Ditto transforms into altered forme Giratina is because Giratina requires an item to be Origin forme and Spiky-eared Pichu doesn't need an item to be with a Spiky ear so I think that it would have a notched ear too. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 23:04, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Professor Elm
If you take the Spiky-eared Pichu to Professor Elm, he will call the Pokémon centres to prevent it from being traded. But what if you didn't take it to Professor Elm, and attempted to trade it? Will it work? The game makes it seem that it can't be traded after you take it to Professor Elm. So I'm assuming that if Elm doesn't see the Spiky-eared Pichu, he can't stop you from trading it. Unused Sun/Moon sprite
The trivia section mentions that Spiky-eared Pichu has an unused menu icon in Sun and Moon, and, indeed, Bulbapedia has an icon for it, and the upload date makes sense. However, I have a dump of all the icons, including any unused ones, and I can't for the life of me find Spiky-eared Pichu.
