It might have happened that you thought I took the translations from another website, so you deleted the page about a TCG card. Well, now I'm angry, because the BW cards now have 'tentens' (hiraganas over kanjis) so I can now read kanji without any difficulties (unlike the older sets), can now easily translate a whole card, but gets accused of copying them!? My results of translating might be very close to other websites doing translations, too, but there's an extremely high chance Pokemon USA is going to have the same translations as mine, or other websites. :Well, what am I supposed to believe? You used Gale Force, PokéBeach used Gale Force. Even though here on this website, the translations for new moves that '''''we''''' are using must be the ones used. The name here is {{m|Windstorm}}, nothing else. Your attack translations also are the only place on the page that lack the é, and the hidden text for when the card references itself is not there, which is something that WPM is known for also not doing. You may be telling the truth, but the evidence stacks up against you. Paul's Gliscor
With all do respect, Paul's Gliscor had 3 appearences, 1 in wich it was not even seen moving so only 2 really if we are talking about Notabilaty, there are loads of pages being turned down for not being notable like User:Burgundy/Takuto's Darkrai ,User:Crikko/Ursula's Gabite, User:05308/Flint's Infernape and User:Burgundy/Paul's Weavile wich are much more Notabe and have been ignored Lanturn....05308 19:55, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- They will all be considered when we do the Generation V dump off of my template next week. However, I do believe the anime notability policy states something about rivals Pokémon. MaverickNate 19:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Cards' Japanese names
Why I must ask you before correting errors on card articles? I know katakana almost perfectly and ワンツーパンチ is One-Two Punch, not Steady Punch, which would be ステディパンチ. For example, Lopunny's ホッピングヒール is correctly translated Hopping Heal, not Hover Heal. Shouldn't all users have same rights to edit tcg articles?--でんのう ☢ Zえんし 18:03, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- The problem is not that I don't want other users correcting it. The problem is you are only doing half the job. You see, I will use your most recent example: シンクロフロート (Synchronized Lift). You only corrected it on this article, but left it incorrect on both this one and this one. You do this with almost every single one you change. This is why I get upset. I would rather alert me with what you change, so I don't have to constantly watch over your contributions in order to find what would be wrong and what wouldn't. The Steady Punch/One-Two Punch problem: you fixed it on one article, but left it incorrect for the other 10 that use it.
- I don't want to stop you from fixing them: it's great that you are. But I can't keep babysitting your edits. Rather, I want you to learn the tools to fix them all, instead of leaving some unfinished (one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone does half a job: which may be the reason why I reverted you; I honestly don't remember why I did.). Search the katakana name in the search box, and it will give you every single time it has ever appeared. If you start doing this, I will leave your translations alone. Now please, if you would be so kind, make the three articles using シンクロフロート and the eleven articles using ワンツーパンチ consistent. This is all I ask. I apologize if I came off a bit mean spirited, I just get annoyed because this happens a lot. In the future, make sure it's all or nothing when changing ANY translations. Thank you. Moves
Hey. Here to nag ya. There are still quite a few protected move pages, so... The ones I feel comfortable enough to create are: Shell Blade, Waterlog, Gear Saucer, Coil Around and Devastate. I think I can also create the Oaths, but I'm not certain about their combos... I don't know if there's an order in which they have to be used to do the combos and if their powers change when doing so. Also, there are user pages for Nitro Charge (which is pretty complete) and Boiling Water (which still needs the TM listing). If these could be moved to the mainspace, I could finish them, but I don't really know the policy. Thanks. Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 22:30, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Pokeboard page deleted
Why was the Pokeboard page deleted? You listed the reason as you had not heard of it, but that doesn't mean it isn't relevant to the Pokemon community. deletion of Pikachu (Pokémon)/Featured article candidate
I saw the reason why you deleted this page I created. Please, next time give a little time before you delete the article. I was editing the article's talk page to add myself to the support list when you deleted it. I can't tell you how frustrated I am with you for doing this.--Alex726contributions 02:12, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- You uselessly created a page just to edit it. You could have simply done it all in one edit. I don't really care if you are frustrated with me or not, because it was a very inefficient way of doing it. MaverickNate 02:15, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
ok fine. If it's so inefficient why don't you tell me how i can do this in one step? I gladly would do exactly what you say is effecient if I had the knowledge of how to do so. Have you ever nominated an article? If you have than you must know that when you copy and paste in the subst:FAC talk you cannot edit your vote in right away. It creates the template when you first create the article. Then, you have to save it and click edit to cast your vote. If there is a way to make these two steps that I am doing into one please tell me.--Alex726contributions 02:35, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Undelete
I found an older deleted revision of C-Gear that looks like it has some merit, but it was deleted due to being made into the mainspace before the games were released. Now that they have been, unless there is a page on it in the userspace (which your template and my searches indicate there isn't), could the first deleted version be restored. I'm assuming this is possible and I don't have the permissions to do it, but if it is not let me know. See here. --SnorlaxMonster 02:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Template:Trainerentry
How do you set it up? I can't view the source code, and looking at other trainers isn't really helping. The ExterminatorTalk/Contribs. 19:10, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Here's an example:
{{trainerheader|forest}} {{trainerentry|TrainerNurse BW.png|Nurse|Masami|600|1|517|Munna|♀|15|None|025|36=マサミ|37=Masami}} {{trainerdiv|forest}} {{trainerentry|TrainerKindergartner F BW.png|Kindergartner|Kotono|52|2|546|Monmen|♀|13|None|548|Churine|♀|13|None|36=コトノ|37=Kotono}} {{trainerfooter|forest|5}}
Let me see if I can explain this... First you need the trainerheader then, you add in a trainerentry:
- 1. Sprite trainer name
- 2. Trainer Class
- 3. Trainer name
- 4. Reward money
- 5. Number of total Pokémon
- 6. 1st Pokémon's Ndex number
- 7. 1st Pokémon's name
- 8. 1st Pokémon's gender
- 9. 1st Pokémon's level
- 10. 1st Pokémon's held item
and you would repeat this for upto 6 Pokémon for each trainer
- 11.36= is the Japanese name in Katakana
- 12. 37= is the translated Japanese name
Put a divider trainerdiv for seperating trainers and add in a another entry like above if desired. Otherwise, add in a trainerfooter and you're done. Let me know if you still don't understand. —♥ Jellotalk 19:24, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

- Due to the release of Black and White, there are many new issues made dealing with images. Move images, sprites, artwork. We don't want normal users screwing things up. When we had it unlocked, no one followed the instructions for uploading sprites, and it only caused more work for those doing it correctly, so, the Archives are going to remain locked until the issues are solved. You can e-mail your images to someone who has the power to upload, if it is as urgent as you say. MaverickNate 21:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

I know that it's just Japanese version. But let's not come that far to change more correct to less correct romanizations. Also, the name is so strange that I'm now thinking that we should spell it directly as Burujowaru, as ugly as it sounds. --Maxim 15:38, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Seeds template
sat down to take a look at coding something up, but I'm not too sure what the aim is with this one. The Catch template is a series of templates; I'm not entirely certain how well this would work for seeds, although it certainly can be made to work.
The other option would be something more along the lines of Template:Item; in which case, it may actually be possible to just use the Item template, as it should have all the proper perimeters in place already (it might be as simple as adding the various side games to the locations list for that). What do you think would be a better fit? (also, if I don't reply here, bug me about it, I may have forgotten to check back.) -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 05:47, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- My main turn off of the Item template originally was that there is only one set of prices able to be listed. I do think that the template could be used in the MD items, appropriately: I just wish to represent all the games, since there are only 3 different groups. If you were able to rig up the Item template to incorporate these games, however, I do believe that it would be the best option. MaverickNate 14:01, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Late reply (spent the past two days troubleshooting my younger brother's computer), but I think updating the Item template would probably be the best option.
- Adding switches for the various side games would be simple enough, probably don't even need me for that. But you mentioned multiple prices? Where would that come in? -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:32, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Mhmm. Multiple prices. Mostly, Red and Blue dungeon have their own set of prices, and then the next gen, so to speak, explorers of time and darkness introduce different prices/effects/ everything (mostly an overhaul of the game, if my research tells me correctly) and that information lasts for explorers of Sky. I'm unsure about the fourth Wiiware game for the series, but that's what I know about the first two. What do you think we can do? (Honestly, I suck at coding. I don't know what I'd actually be able to do.) MaverickNate 08:39, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Booster packs
Hi Nate. I noticed a lot of the TCG expansion pages have scans of the Japanese booster pack designs. How wanted/cared about are scans of the English pack designs? I have a lot of old empty packs saved, but I don't want to scan them if nobody cares/you don't want them haha. Thanks. --ZestyCactus 22:01, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Some of the more current sets have them. This is more of a matter of, we started adding them, but we just haven't gone to past sets to add them yet. Feel free to scan whatever you can. MaverickNate 22:37, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

How is it not notable? You've got articles for much smaller sites, so "not notable" isn't really a valid excuse (assuming your definition of notable is the same as mine which might not be the case). Plus if it's that bad, I can just make the links not-clickable. --Pyritie 21:42, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

4chan isn't a Pokémon site. It doesn't even come close. 4chan is a site where maybe 0.01% of the content is Pokémon-related, even if some big Pokémon memes have originated on there... and an article wouldn't be complete without mentioning what the majority of the other 99.98% of the forums are for, which is totally inappropriate for this wiki. Obviously, 4chan is much larger than most Pokémon fansites, but the matter is that it's not a Pokémon fansite itself. /vp/ is simply a section of 4chan, and it's not so far removed to distinguish itself from the rest of the site. That is why it's absolutely non-notable. --P o L i 22:53, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's true that 4chan itself is not a pokemon site, but /vp/ is as close as it'll get to having one. Have you gone to /vp/? Pretty much everything there is pokemon-related. How can you say that /vp/, an important site during wottergate, is less notable than, say, a site about one fanfic series? --Pyritie 00:12, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey Nate, a quick question
I am trying to help a new user format their userpage the way that they want it, because they are having a tough time with it. I asked him for permission to edit his page, and he gave it to me, mostly because he is having a tough time with the wikicode. Is it kosher with the rules around here for me to edit in his userspace, since he has used up his three edits for today? Just wanted to ask before I hit the save button. I have asked Kogoro and Werdnae, but they haven't gotten back to me, and I kinda have to go now, since class is over. Is this a good idea ? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 17:16, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- We want to start using them somehow; however, we haven't thought of a good idea how. The problem with switching them daily is that switches are typically expensive for the server. I personally want to have something happen with them: my idea was have an artwork section, but it will need to be discussed. Thanks for your suggestions though! I will definitely inform everyone. Well, but there is still link correcting and the issue of server stress. I'm afraid that the Pedia will have to be closed anyways. Aiding in TCG images
Hey there Maverick, I noticed a lot of the card pages still use images of the Japanese cards. Being a collector the the cards, I have thousands and would be willing to provide English versions of whatever cards I've got. Is that an issue with Project TCG or does it really matter whether or not the card on the page is in English or Japanese? Lemme know what I could do to help. =) Thanks! ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ 04:38, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- It does not matter which image we use, however, we get English images whenever we can. If you would be able to scan in your English cards at good quality, you can do however many you want to. all that I ask is that you scan one, and I critique it, then I will teach you about naming standards and such. MaverickNate 05:21, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, well here's an Arcanine from Rising Rivals I did as a test. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ 06:10, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- They are fantastic. Now, here are the rules on the image standards. The file name is the card's page name, minus all the punctuation and parenthesis (except for Ho-Oh). For example: File:ArcanineRisingRivals1.png. As for the Summary box on the archives, I need you to fill in
- ==Summary==
- <Page name>
- ==Licensing:==
- {{i-Fairuse-tcg}}
- [[Category:<Pokémon>]][[Category:<Set name>|###]]
- The ### is the card's number with however many zeroes you need to fill it out. 1 would be 001. 26 would be 026, 111 would be 111.
- Afterward, replace any places that the old image is used, and also put a delete tag anywhere on the old image. I'll catch any mistakes you make, so don't worry about that. I will also catch any exceptions to the rule that I have not mentioned. Do your best, and good luck. And thank you so very much. Any questions you have, just ask. Images
I apologize, although I know at least some of the images I added were actually taken from Amazon; I can't say where Amazon got their pictures from, but I assumed that images on such a major site would be (a) not stolen, and (b) general publicity images (unless otherwise stated). One of them was taken from a Google image search; that's probably the one in question. I was just trying to add information on something that's been out for a long time now, and yet had no mention on Bulbapedia. I realize that the release of Black and White has made things difficult for everyone on the wiki, but I hope you'll agree that the rest of the wiki shouldn't be ignored. It seemed information on recent TCG releases was lacking. Regardless of this particular issue, I sincerely hope that in the future such actions will not be necessary, and that Pokemon fan sites will work with each other instead of against each other. In closing, I was not trying to steal anything, and I hope you don't believe otherwise. Thanks. -Unknownwarrior33 05:10, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- Further note: the current picture of the tins is, in my opinion, not very good; it hides the bottoms of the tins and is completely different from all the other pictures on that page. I think the image here: http://www.amazon.com/Pokemon-Fall-Collectors-Suicune-Sleeves/dp/B004433QA0 is better, and has no watermark that I can see. Is there no way to use that image in place of the current one? Thanks, -Unknownwarrior33 05:50, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Hm?
I fail to see what problem the Kingdra disambiguation was causing. IIRC, the consensus on the forums was to create disambigs for Pokémon simply to link to their TCG articles because there's no reason not to. Since I know you were vehemently opposed to that for some reason, I'm not going to push the point. However, the only way for a user to access the Kingdra archetype article by typing in "Kingdra" is to scroll all the way down to the TCG section, then find the link hidden in the text on Kingdra (TCG). I think most people would agree that that's far too much time for a user to waste, especially when pages load as slowly as they do. Also, your reasoning for deleting it seems misguided... for instance, let's take Politoed. All the items in the disambig are linked to, and prominently so, within the species article. The Kingdra archetype article isn't even included in the Kingdra species article, so why would we not include it in the disambig? To put appearances of a Pokémon for the manga and anime on a disambig, when those are featured on the species page, but not to do the same for an archetypes seems like a double standard. Hmm? --P o L i 20:39, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- There is a Table of Contents on every page for that reason. Instant link to every section on the page. Since scrolling is not the only way to get there, I find your point, rather incorrect. We aren't creating pages to drive people away from a page that already features it. MaverickNate 20:41, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, but... first off, the Kingdra archetype article isn't already featured on the species page. Secondly... shouldn't we delete Politoed (disambiguation), since Misty's Politoed, Polibo, and Politoed (TCG) (the only items included in the disambig) are already featured in the species article? --P o L i 20:45, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Everything should be there, but I'm not sure what to do about the ones from the Dialga vs Giratina deck kit; they're each 14/14 of their respective half decks, but I'm not sure how I should show that. One option is to write, say, "Dialga Half Deck 14/14" in the number space, but that makes the column too wide. The other thing I can think of is to make pages for "Dialga Half Deck" and "Giratina Half Deck" that redirect to Giratina vs Dialga Deck Kit (TCG). Dubious BW Screenshots
I'm not sure if this should be brought up on your talk page or DoTheWave's talk page first, but this is more of an Archives rules question than an "OMG how did you get these?!?" question, so I'll start here. The files "StatsBW.png", "Shouro's PC BW.png", and (the current version of) "Nickname.png" show what appear to be screenshots from the English version of Black & White. As it seems highly unlikely that anyone would have these screenshots yet, and even more unlikely that Yorterry's English name would be "YOOTERII" (especially considering that the "Pokémon names in all caps" convention is reportedly finally going to die in BW), these images are most likely faked. Even if all DoTheWave (the uploader) did was edit screenshots from the Japanese version, are these images allowed to be on the Archives or used in articles? --Minimiscience 02:18, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- Screenshot's typically hould never be edited for articles. If no English version exists, we sure better not be using any English images. MaverickNate 02:48, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon TCG Slang/Terminology
Long story short I stumbled across the Shuppet Donk deck article and realized the term "donk" isn't defined on this site. It is used in a few articles, but any links in those articles just lead to an empty page asking you to create it. So I did. Then it got deleted because the person in question hadn't ever heard the term.
My more broad question is if there is some page of Pokemon slang/terminology that might be appropriate to list such things on. I couldn't find one. One of the big hurdles when reading an article is when the writer uses a lot of what they assume to be common terminology, or worse misuses it. Like TecH.
Thanks.

- Tell Politoed666 about it. He's the one creating the articles in question, and he'd be the one to get to change. Though he is a bit stubborn, because he thinks everyone else is incompetent. However, may it be useful to post donk onto Glossary, the page for TCG terms? Maybe. I'm not too versed in the competitive part of the TCG...yet. MaverickNate 04:05, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Tornelos Translations - Seriously. This isn't funny at all.
Hi,
It might have happened that you thought I took the translations from another website, so you deleted the page about a TCG card. Just because two translations are similar doesn't mean I'm stealing, y'a know...TokoyamiTheDark 10:25, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
- Well, what am I supposed to believe? You used Gale Force, PokéBeach used Gale Force. Even though here on this website, the translations for new moves that we are using must be the ones used. The name here is Windstorm, nothing else. Your attack translations also are the only place on the page that lack the é, and the hidden text for when the card references itself is not there, which is something that WPM is known for also not doing. You may be telling the truth, but the evidence stacks up against you. MaverickNate 14:03, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
