Golbat (Japanese: ゴルバット Golbat) is a Poison/Flying-type Pokémon. It is a very common sight in many caves later on in all handheld Pokémon RPGs.
Golbat has the ability Inner Focus, which prevents flinching.
Golbat evolves from Zubat starting at Level 22, then into Crobat when it grows a level and its Tameness is 220 or above.

Golbat can be found quite easily in caves, particularly in caverns with limestone, which enhances their ultrasonic radar.

In the anime
Koga used a Golbat against Ash's Charmander in his rematched battle against Ash.
In Round One - Begin!, a Golbat was the third Pokémon that Mandy used against Ash Ketchum during the first round of the Indigo League. It was defeated by Ash's Kingler.
Brock had a Golbat that he caught as a Zubat. It eventually evolved into a Crobat.
In The Ribbon Cup Caper, Brodie used a Golbat's Haze attack in order to make a get away after stealing a Golden Poké Ball.
A Golbat has also appeared in DP020, under the ownership of one of J's minions.

- Pokémon Stadium 2: Golbat stars in the mini-game "Gutsy Golbat." The object is to fly around and collect as many hearts as you can, the player with the most hearts at the end of the cave is the winner.

- When it plunges its fangs into its prey, it instantly draws and gulps down more than ten ounces of blood.
- Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
- Golbat loves to drink the blood of living things. It is particularly active in the pitch black of night. This Pokémon flits around in the night skies, seeking fresh blood.
- Pokémon FireRed
- It clamps down on its prey with needle-sharp fangs and drains over 10 ounces of blood in one gulp.
- Pokémon Emerald
- Its fangs easily puncture even thick animal hide. It loves to feast on the blood of people and Pokémon. It flits about in darkness and strikes from behind.
- Pokémon Diamond
- It loves the blood of humans and Pokémon. It flies around at night in search of neck veins.
