Mega Evolutions are not like "two Onix's", Mega Evolutions are only used by a select few in the Pokémon games as they are deemed as the most powerful Pokémon forms. Let me tell you this, if there were two important characters that were using a shiny Metagross - would you simply state, "It's just two of the same Pokémon?" No. Because Shiny are considered as rare exceptions. Yes, the rate to get a shiny has increased, however, this does not change the overall specialty of shiny Pokémon. The same goes for Mega Evolutions. for even one Mega Evolution to be relevant by more than one character is a specialty. Yes, it is not interesting to you, but, I can guarantee you that it will interest every other person.

Just remember, this is Trivia that interest's everybody and not just you. I couldn't care less about Salamence's defense being the highest for Dragon types, but if it interest everyone else then I'm all for it. The same goes with my trivia.

:1) Please keep conversation in one talk page. It makes it easier to find where the discussion is taking place.
:2) Please sign your comments with four tildes (~) or by clicking the signature button above the edit box.
:3) Two trainers having the same Pokémon is not notable. Any two trainers can have the same Pokémon, regardless of whether it is a Mega or a shiny.
:4) I know that trivia should be interesting to everybody, but at the same time, it shouldn't be dull. Two trainers having the same Pokémon? So what? Ash and Dawn have a Quilava. Brock and Roark have an Onix. It's not that far-fetched.--<span style="color:#AB2813">F</span><span style="color:#C87365">orce</span><span style="color:#26649C">F</span><span style="color:#729ABF">ire</span> 12:14, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

Hope you're not working on classifying "side-effects"

Imma start work on the talk page to make a parseable table. --Raijinili (talk) 03:39, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm currently just going through all the moves (alphabetically) to figure out which ones have side effects. I don't mind you helping out.--ForceFire 03:49, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
I'm up to Powder Snow >.>. I'm doing it a different way. --Raijinili (talk) 04:18, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Recoil, user-stat lowering (Close Combat), and draining are not "additional effects". They might be called primary effects. Additional effects are generally those that are affected by Sheer Force, Shield Dust, and Serene Grace, and none of those are. --Raijinili (talk) 22:09, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Replied on the talk page of Additional effects.--ForceFire 02:38, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Tacopill

Force Fire, Tacopill had made more than three userspace edits, will you warn this user about the userspace policy? Cinday123 (Talk) 02:49, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Old spellings for older moves

Force Fire, will you undo my edits since you said we are allowed to use new spellings in the anime, because we do not need old spellings. Cinday123 (Talk) 03:18, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

I would like to know why you yourself can't do the task. You can simply undo them by going to the history tab, find your edit and click the undo button next to it.--ForceFire 03:24, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Archive protection

Hey, can you protect my talk page archive (talk page}? Thanks in advance. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 08:01, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Done :).--ForceFire 08:04, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Item maniac in Generation VI

Force Fire, do an item maniac make a return in Generation VI or not? --Cinday123 (Talk) 10:28, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

I wouldn't know, I don't have the game. --ForceFire 11:02, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Meta game trivia

This sort of trivia are unnotable as we are a wiki, not a strategy guide.
While this is usually practiced on other pages, there a few notable exceptions… 18 of them, to be exact. Each type's Characteristics section is basically a miniature Smogon, complete with popular moves, strategies, and evaluation of metagame effectiveness. Much of these Characteristics are theories based on metagame critique. To put it simply: Why are these here? Moves aren't analyzed like this, Pokémon pages don't get anything like this. So why the types, which on their own don't really provide much of an education into the metagame? Sorry to bug you, but I felt like raising the question. --TheVeryBest 08:14, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

This is something I've been wondering myself too, but never really bothered to bring up. I'll mention this to the other staff members and I'll have an answer afterwards.--ForceFire 01:58, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Mewtwo edit warring

There have been 10 edits on Mewtwo's Bio since yesterday arguing about who created it in the games, anime, etc. Help us, Forcey-wan Firobi; you're our only hope. --TheVeryBest 19:56, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Anyone who's seen the movie or played the games should now who created Mewtwo in their respected mediums. A group of Scientist for the anime, and an unknown scientist in the games.--ForceFire 01:58, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Team Plasma

What was wrong with Team Plasma's article? Likewise that of the Team Plasma grunts?

Jdogno4 (talk) 09:07, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

There was nothing wrong with the pages in the first place. You just simply made unnecessary changes, there was nothing wrong with the grammar.--ForceFire 09:11, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Oy, what's the idea with locking the article page. - unsigned comment from Jdogno4 (talkcontribs)

I locked it as you keep adding those unnecessary changes. Did you read your talk page? cause it looks like you didn't. I will not repeat what is said on your talk page, as that pretty much sums it up.--ForceFire 06:10, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Archives editing and uploading

Looks like the Archives are once again locked due of upgrading the site, and I can't upload WTP_XY003.png picture that I found it. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/WTP_XY003_zps0a790145.png.html Would you add this picture, so I can add it on the episode XY003 and Who's That Pokémon? pages? Pikachu65 10:22, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Not sure if the archives are safe to edit/upload. Not sure if the upgrade is done yet. So just wait for a few days.--ForceFire 02:13, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Right. I found this! Can you tell me if it's an error or not? 'Cause I'm going to add it. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/SOFCJ-RawsPocketMonstersXY-09TVO1280x720x264AACmp4_snapshot_1557_20140206_141610_zps71125d92.png.html I've also noticed Bonnie and Serena were imitating Caterpie and Swadloon. We can't add this because it's a waste of time. Pikachu65 13:22, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
So... what's the error? You can't just expect me to magically know what I'm looking for.--ForceFire 13:37, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Alright now, it's Clemont's teeth, you can see the colors of Afternoon, right? And they are white, not in the colorization of Afternoon. You know what I mean. I guess adding Bonnie and Serena imitating Caterpie and Swadloon would be added, huh? Pikachu65 13:41, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Ehh, for me, it's not much of a big deal. So I'd say no. Also, not sure if you want to put the Serena and Bonnie thing as an error or if it is a trivial thing, because either way, it's not notable.--ForceFire 13:46, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Well, Clemont's teeth error would be notable (I mean white color in the colorization of afternoon?), but Bonnie and Serena imitating Caterpie and Swadloon would be added to the trivia, so it will do a trick here. Pikachu65 13:49, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Like I said, not a big deal. The Serena and Bonnie thing is not notable. The only reason we mention Pikachu doing imitations is because it is a series running thing that has been happening for a while. Bonnie and Serena doing it in one episode is not notable.--ForceFire 13:52, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes! They were doing this for fun, that's all. So this one http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/SOFCJ-RawsPocketMonstersXY-09TVO1280x720x264AACmp4_snapshot_1557_20140206_141610_zps71125d92.png.html is not a big deąl, really. Pokemon Conquest Moves

Hello. Not long before I posted this, I was adding tables to the various moves used in Pokemon conquest. However, I happened to find a website where they use images right from the game to show the area of effect moves have, such as this one here. Would it be preferred for me to stick to the tables being used now, or to upload these images and use them instead? Drake Clawfang (talk) 21:14, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Try bringing this up to Kogoro, as she's the Archive's Editor in Chief, so her input would be important. --ForceFire 02:13, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Will do. Drake Clawfang (talk) 04:42, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Error Images

For the error images, is the staff aware about any of the pages with more than five error images? That way, if they are, I won't put in any tags telling them which page has over five. PattyMan 02:51, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Considering the fact there is over 800 episode episode page, I don't think the staff are keeping track of how many images are there on the page. We trust that users will follow the five image per episode rule. --ForceFire 03:23, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Ok. PattyMan 03:35, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Edits

I will resume lurking and the occasional spelling/grammar edit, then, if that's okay with you. As I come from a large wiki, where we have our own little cliques, seeing a new person being bold tends to ruffle a lot of feathers, and I haven't really seen a "be bold" policy here. Thus, since there is none, then I will stop being bold and resume the occasional maintenance edit.

The confusion resulted from the userpage being displayed and basically a message asking for edits. I supplied what information I could, section by section, as opening a very large page in its entirety is very confusing. It is much easier to keep track of what's done by working by section, and that is where Preview doesn't help (which I used every single edit, including this one).

I admit that I didn't see the in-use tag when I started. However, when it was asked on the Pokémon-Amie talk page for edits, and I felt I should add what I could, then the message was mixed. The task would have been very simple; if a page is not public yet, don't display it.

That being said, and my own experience with cliques, I can see where I'm not wanted and will be returning to lurking. Wookieepedia needs my attention more, anyway. Trak Nar (talk) 08:00, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

New Pokémon

Have you seen Hoopa and Volcanion as well? I was thinking we should create sandboxes for them too. I would do it myself, but unfortunately I have no idea how those templates work.

From what I've gathered, Volcanion is Fire/Water type, and Hoopa is Psychic/Ghost. I found their level 100 move sets, abilities, and types here. I'm not sure about the accuracy of the leak, but they are pictures of a real 3DS, so I assume they are pretty accurate. --FireGambit (talk) 03:00, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Until they are confirmed to be real, they are unconfirmed. We only have Diancie because it was just revealed in a corocoro magazine.--ForceFire 03:03, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
Alrighty, then. Thanks for your time! --FireGambit (talk) 03:06, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Also, a small question: How do I make a sandbox page? --FireGambit (talk) 03:09, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

You can create it by making: User:FireGambit/Sandbox.--ForceFire 03:13, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

I'm a little confused about what is found 'notable' in trivia. Would you mind explaining? --FireGambit (talk) 04:22, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

That's actually something I'm unsure of myself, as everyone has their own views on what is notable. I've written an unofficial policy that kinds of narrows down what is notable and what isn't based on my experience with trivia. In regards to your Smogon mascot trivia, fanon aren't really considered trivia.--ForceFire 04:39, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Image Upload Issues

Hi, mate. Long time user and occasional editor. Just trying to upload pictures of the 2005 Subway promotional toys and I am being told that I do not have the permissions to do so. Cheers. -- Lachynorms (talk) 02:31, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

New comments go at the bottom by the way. Also, you can upload images via the Archives. Don't know if there is a number of edits you have to make in order to upload an image, but I'm pretty sure there isn't. --ForceFire 02:46, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, mate, first time I've posted on someone's talk page. :) Yeah, I've attempted uploading the image there but an upload error stating 'You do not have permission to create new pages' appears. The images would go a long way to completing that page so I'd like to get 'em on there! Cheers, mate. --Lachynorms (talk) 02:56, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Have you been email confirmed?--ForceFire 03:14, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Yep, although four years ago, mind you. I attempted with some other images to no avail. Quite unsure what to make of it. --Lachynorms (talk) 03:22, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Looks like you do have to make some edits to the archive in order to upload. Not sure what exactly you can edit there, as the archives are only used for uploading images. Your account must also be on the archives for a considerate amount of time, which I'm sure you have that done as you've been for over 4 years.--ForceFire 03:29, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Alright, I'll do what I can in the meantime. Cheers for the help, mate! --Lachynorms (talk) 03:31, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

XY016 error

Wait. I know it's not an error, but please take a look on this for a second. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/XY016_error_2_zps685be966.png.html. Pikachu65 13:34, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Eh, I feel that is a bit wrong. Her nose and eyelashes appear to be too high on her face when it should be lower as she is facing Bonnie. It's her hair, not part of her face.--ForceFire 13:42, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Seriously? Then put the delete on it that is not an error. Thanks for your advice. Pikachu65 13:44, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
We had already talked about Zigzagoon's mask in XY010 before, but there's something that is bothering me. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/Zigzagggg_zps00887e64.png.html Pikachu65 13:52, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
I guess that could be an error. --ForceFire 14:11, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Really? Its eyes? Pikachu65 14:21, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm not saying it isn't an error. I'm saying it could be an error. --ForceFire 14:39, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Aha, so when it's closing its eyes, this could be an error. They used different color on its mask. I thought its mask is always black... Pikachu65 14:51, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
The mask is always black. The eyes (or the outlines rather) should be of a lighter shade.--ForceFire 14:56, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Yeah! Then let's add this on XY010 about its eyes closed or something, not the mask 'cause everyone know that it's always black. Pikachu65 15:02, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Hey! Look what I found. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/Teeth_zpsc3a5d915.png.html Can you tell me the difference between Ash ans Serena's mouths? I think it's their teeth. Pikachu65 10:30, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that would be an error.--ForceFire 12:56, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Great! Now you see the difference. It's their teeth, the are colored pink like tongues instead of white. There's no way we can add the Rena's bag error with the clip, which is an oval shape when it should be a diamond shape. Pikachu65 12:59, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Hey! Look at this here here Do you see the difference? I need to know. It's his blonde hair. Pikachu65 12:09, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Hmm. I'm not too entirely sure about it. The fact that it is sunset in that scene, implies that the darker shading is normal. No 100% sure. Ask for second opinions, I'll leave the error in the error section for now.--ForceFire 12:28, 27 February 2014

(UTC)

Okay! Pikachu65 13:26, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi there! I found this. http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/SOFCJ-RawsPocketMonstersXY-19TX1280x720x264AACmp4_snapshot_0838_20140314_183820_zps21b7087d.png.html http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/Keroromaniac/media/Keroro%20Gunsou%20and%20animes/SOFCJ-RawsPocketMonstersXY-19TX1280x720x264AACmp4_snapshot_0838_20140314_183821_zps792c6053.png.html I think it's not an error. Am I right? Pikachu65 17:43, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
Major miscolorings are errors. In this case, it is.--ForceFire 03:32, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
Right. 1 I think there should be 13 errors in this page, but the limit of the error images must be five. We need to talk to Kogoro about extensing the limit up to 15. Pikachu65 09:38, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
If you want, you can bring it up to Kogoro. If you want my opinion, five images is more than enough. I personally do not like to see sections that are loaded with images.--ForceFire 09:40, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes! But there must be more images. I will talk to her/him about extensing the limit, so this case will be solved. I don't care if five is enough, but that's not enough - 25 is enough! That's why we need this limit extension. Maybe 7 o 10 images would be enough. Pikachu65 09:42, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

New image for template

Hi there, I uploaded an anipng file to replace the gif that the current suspected evolution template uses, but cannot update the template myself. New image is here. --Jdthebud (talk) 21:24, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem with the image animation. Probably best not to update it yet until it gets fixed.--ForceFire 02:20, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
fixed now, so feel free to update it. Can you also tag the .gif for deletion when you are done? Jdthebud (talk) 00:35, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Cool. I'll update it now and place the delete tag on the old image.--ForceFire 02:36, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Diggersby (Pokémon)#Name origin

As one who was skeptical of Relicant's reasonings in Talk:Chesnaught (Pokémon)#Knight (and as a staff member), I'm curious to know what you think of Relicant's arguments for "rood" as an origin for Diggersby's Japanese name (Horūdo).

I do not believe there is enough substance to support "rood" as a possibility, but I'm sure Relicant wouldn't just let me remove it (and that would lead nowhere), so I need some authority to judge this and give it a solid resolution. If you (and/or other staff) judge that, thin though rood's substance may be, its possibility still cannot be absolutely denied, then I'll be happy enough to accept that. I really think it's much too unlikely, though... Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:19, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Rood is also a measurement of land, which is supported by its Ground typing. Whilst I think it is a stretch, it does fit in a way (again, Ground typing). Even if it is an obscure word. I'd probably just leave it in there for now.--ForceFire 02:55, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Coding for the infoboxes

Hi Force Fire, I was wondering if you could give me the coding for the Pokemon infobox template? I want to make my infoboxes on this wikia I'm creating look like that. I will not copy them completely, I plan on tweaking the design a bit. Thanks :) TheManofTomorrow (talk) 00:22, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Send Back

What's the difference? It did stated to be Lick I saw the episode and other characters mentioned this to be lick.--JasonL 13:35, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Well now I'm confused. When I saw the episode In the Pink Lickitung used Lick on a pink Nindoking and it's face turned blue and fell down.--JasonL (talk)

Was it told to use lick or was it stated to be lick? If not, then we can't confirm that it used lick in that episode as licking the opponent does not mean it used the move.--ForceFire 02:59, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Well when I saw the episode In the pink I think it was told to use Lick. Will you re-check the episode just to make sure. Because Lickitung's Lick is not in one of the Anime move errors and I'm only trying to help. --JasonL (talk)

No it didn't. Jessie doesn't command Lickitung to use Lick. She called it "Lick" but it doesn't mean she commanded her to use Lick.--ForceFire 03:52, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Oh, okay. Well Lickitung is called the Licking Pokémon we all know that. But after seeing the other Pokémon feeling a little funny by Lickitung's tongue it almost looked like it was using Lick. Talk about a "Licking" situation. -- JasonL (talk)

Blaziken Mask / Meyer

Is there any discussion anywhere on merging these two pages? There is no spoiler left. They are now revealed in North America to be the same person. It's time to merge rather than try to protect spoilers for those who might not watch it in the next five years.

I have an idea for how to do this; I would rather be bold and go ahead and do it, but in my experience here (unlike Wikipedia) find my bold attempts quickly reverted. Will there be a reason that they cannot be merged or can we finally go ahead and do it? CycloneGU (talk) 14:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Pokémon Trainer's Choice

Why are you adding "good" choices? Those questions ask for the best choice, and having the most resistances and advantages makes Treecko and Crobat the best choices. We shouldn't even bother with any other choice unless it has just as many resistances/advantages as the best one. I'm curious as to why you think it's notable to mention Carvanha and Togetic. --TheVeryBest 05:38, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Because they would also be good choices. Yes, it's asking for the best, but we can't just ignore the fact that other choices would also make good choices. Also, having the "most resistance and advantages" is akin to having "better stats". For all we know, whoever wrote these question was probably only going for "X beats Y because it's Z type" not "X beats Y because not only is it Z type, it also resists Y's typing".--ForceFire 06:15, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
If we can't assume that type-based match-up questions include defensive advantages, why can we assume that it doesn't? Not that it matters since I have evidence that resistances are considered in the PTCs of AG061 (Chinchou is preferred over Illumise against Crawdaunt), AG066, AG082 (Venomoth > Gastly vs. Sunflora), and AG087. --TheVeryBest 07:44, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Well, do my findings change your mind? --TheVeryBest 05:45, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
No. I feel that the ones where it seems resistance were taken into consideration were just questions where they shot themselves in the foot and chose whatever answer as the "correct one". I.e, not really giving 4kids a lot of credit, especially when they got one question horrendously wrong.--ForceFire 05:57, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Abuse log

Force Fire, that edit gives me the bad formatting tag, what I'm going to do? --Cinday123 (Talk) 06:46, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

It's because the template had "align=center" which is outdated. It has to be "margin:auto" (for the template to be centered) and/or "text-align:center" (for the text to be centered).--ForceFire 06:57, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Opps, I forgot to get the new ones, I have to be careful next time. --Cinday123 (Talk) 07:03, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi Again

I noticed replies to other threads but no reply to mine. Is there a reason you skipped my question? CycloneGU (talk) 22:02, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Heh, don't fret. I did bring it up with the others, but there was no response. Thus, I had no response to give. I'll try again today. Also, if it's any help, I agree that the two pages should be merged as the episodes have debuted already and there's really no need for it to be spplit any longer.--ForceFire 02:08, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Ah, well, if I may throw this out there, this is a Wiki thing, so should it not be discussed on-Wiki? If it's hidden in a staff forum where most people can't see it, then we have absolutely no public input on it.
I was about ready to just go in and do the merge myself. Just gave one more try here. =) And I agree, I've had little response too; I even asked Magnadeth, but it seems he's become quieter too. CycloneGU (talk) 04:44, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Bringing it up on staff forums just alerts them of a request, as they may have either missed it or too busy to notice. Either way, the merge is good to go, I assume you wanted to merge it so go ahead if you want.--ForceFire 04:57, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
All right, it's a little late this evening (1 AM EDT), so I'll go ahead with it in the morning. I do have a busy day tomorrow, but if I'm awake early enough like the last two days (and not asleep until 11 AM LOL), I might be able to do it before I get busy. I'll use the interim to ask another editor I saw who agreed with a merge on what he thinks, and ultimately I'll do what I think is best for the article. Thanks! =) CycloneGU (talk) 05:11, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Eh, I've already merged the articles (haven't saved yet). So I can do the edit now.--ForceFire 05:14, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough. I'm still awake (barely) and made edits at Blaziken in the anime section. There may be more to cover elsewhere, and I wonder if an article for this specific Blaziken may be needed in the future (not yet). CycloneGU (talk) 06:16, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Template:User Champion

Hi. I'm writing because today I was trying to add the Y version of User Champion to my userpage, when I noticed there was a little mistake in your update, that added the Gen VI games: the letter "Y" is already programmed into the template, because of Yellow. Since a lot of users already use the old version, could you please change the letter standing for the recent game, to "Y2", or something like that? オリナル TheOriginalOne 21:18, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

XY013 dub

I watched this episode in the dub version, pal, and I found out that Ash call his Froakie a male. We still don't know if Ash's Froakie really is a male or not, the same goes with Penelope's Sylveon as a female. This case would be uwknown. Pikachu65 08:26, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Uploading XY sprites

Hi, I was wondering if it would be acceptable to upload X and Y sprites from Pokemon Showdown onto this wiki to use for the pages. I wanted to do this, but wasn't sure about copyrights so I figured I should ask first. --SuperPikaBros 20:43, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Well, if you have permission (from the owner of the site) to do so. Even then, you have to bring it up to an editorial board member, as they have the final say in it.--ForceFire 02:46, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

I know. I'm just protecting things as they are the norms when a new game is announced.--ForceFire 14:38, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Would it be a good idea to lock Generation VI as well? I know that Gen III was locked, but I think that Gen VI should also be locked since that is when the new games would likely be released. --Super goku (talk) 15:56, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

XY026

Look at eposide XY022 and BW140. Both have trivia relating to the species being shown despite only being around for 2 generations, making it a decent article of trivia.- unsigned comment from Rahl (talkcontribs)

Then those should be removed.--ForceFire 01:33, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

No Transformation

Your wrong. Mega Evolution is still evolution method that can evolve into Mega Pokemon (final form for one-evolution families and second/true final form for two-evolution families) and devolve back into previous form. --Samueljoo (talk) 04:51, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

No. An evolved Pokémon should not be able to de-evolve back to its previous states. That is common knowledge in the Pokémon franchise. Mega Evolution is a transformation method since the Pokémon can still revert to its original form. Also, just because it's called Mega Evolution doesn't automatically make it an evolution.--ForceFire 04:59, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
But Force Fire, this isn't right. --Samueljoo (talk) 00:19, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
Regardless, the game does not call it an evolution.--ForceFire 03:42, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Is it Me, Or...

...do regional Pokédex Numbers in the infoboxes look ugly ATM? See Azumarill; I would think having regions on top as one line of a table, and the number in each Dex on the second line of the same table makes more sense and looks better. No problem with two lines in the first row of the table. CycloneGU (talk) 21:45, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Eh, I don't really have a problem with how it looks. It still gets the point across, which is more important than the look.--ForceFire 02:14, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
Shouldn't it also look good? Shows professionalism IMO. CycloneGU (talk) 04:31, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
It should, though that comes second (information comes first). I also feel that it's so minor.--ForceFire 03:57, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Pokemon Conquest Moves

I'd like to request this template be implimented as template for Pokemon Conquest moves. Currently as I'm editing it involves the mass copying and editing of the table directly, which this template greatly simplifies. Actual usage of it could further by simplified by making the three colors used in the template into color templates like "Steel color dark", etc, so in the template fields I could put "hit/move/push" instead of the color codes, but as-is it's perfectly functional as seen here. Drake Clawfang (talk) 21:13, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

On a related note, would the website "Veekun" by acceptable for reliable information? Their database on the game's moves provides base accuracy, chance of secondary effects taking hold, and base power, stats that are not-viewable in-game. I'd like to add this extra info but if the website isn't suitable as a source for this I'm fine to leave it out. Drake Clawfang (talk) 21:23, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

I'll bring up the template request to the other admins. The template look alright to me. About Veekun, I'm pretty sure they are a reliable source. I'll check with the others.--ForceFire 02:40, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you very much. Should Veekun be acceptable, I'm going to design an alternate version of the template with their data displayed. Drake Clawfang (talk) 03:44, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Any word on this? Drake Clawfang (talk) 00:56, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

I have taken up to the others a few days ago but received no response. I'll try again today.--ForceFire 03:57, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

That is the original explanation, I meant since my new response: "True Pokemon and Digimon aren't the only franchise to do this but they do it the most similar to one another. I haven't seen MegaMan for a while, how was it done there again? I haven't seen Saint Seiya at all but I have red about it."

Jdogno4 (talk) 12:00, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

The point is that it doesn't matter who does it the closest it's still unnotable. We also avoid comparisons between franchises because it can be highly opinionated.--ForceFire 12:22, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Fine. Understood.

Your Starter Pokémon edit

Would you care to respond to the comment(s) at Talk:Starter Pokémon#Kalos secondary triangle regarding your removal of the trivia point? In short, I think you're using a baselessly narrow definition of what makes a "triangle". There's no good reason to be any more strict than "advantage"/"disadvantage", and that makes a perfect triangle. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:37, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

I already stated in the edit summary. The triangle isn't based of Advantage and Disadvantages, it is based of Super Effectiveness and Resistance. This site further explains why it is not a triangle.--ForceFire 02:43, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Why should I care what that site says? It's not an official site. Everyone's definition of "triangle" (as regards this subject) is artificial, and yours/that site's are based on one single data point: the Water/Fire/Grass "triangle". That is MASSIVELY flawed.
"Dealing 2x damage" and "receiving 1/2 damage" can be rephrased as "having an offensive advantage" and "having a defensive advantage", and you cannot tell me with any sort of certainty that that is the wrong interpretation. (Or if you're looking at it as "A deals 2x damage to B and B deals 1/2 damage to A", it's "A has an offensive advantage over B and B has an offensive disadvantage against A". Same difference.)
Look at the facts. The Dark/Psychic/Fighting secondary types are so close to the exact same relationship ("triangle") as the Water/Fire/Grass primary types. Would you wager that that was not intentional? Would you actually wager that they were not going for a secondary "triangle"? Who are you to say that it doesn't form a "triangle" when they've rather apparently made the decision that "offensive advantage/defensive advantage" is the rule of their "triangles" instead of the trivially specific "deals 2x damage/receives 1/2 damage"? The games have done basically nothing in the way of "triangles" for five generations except Water/Fire/Grass; accept that they just decided to advance this concept a bit. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:16, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
I only used that site to explain why I think Dark/Psychic/Fighting does not make a triangle. There is no official word, but the fact the kept the Grass/Fire/Water cycle, the one that deals 2x damage to A/receives 1/2 damage to B, for sixth generation states otherwise. Dark tpye does not receive 1/2 damage to Psychic thus does not make Dark/Fighting/Psychic a triangle. End of story.--ForceFire 03:22, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
And they're not allowed to decide to expand it... Right. I'll seek wider opinions, then. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:37, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Not saying they can't, just saying that the fact that they are still using the Grass/Fire/Water cycle implies that "deals 2x damage and receives 1/2 damage" is what they consider a triangle.--ForceFire 03:42, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Or...that could also just be momentum/brand/whatever.
And you cannot, period, build a valid definition from a single example (even if that single example is repeated many times). Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:23, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Even if it has been repeated for sixth generation and nearly two decades? You are missing the point. Having an advantage and disadvantage isn't that specific and too general. Any three types can have an advantage and a disadvantage to each other. But the Grass/Fire/Water cycle specifically has a resistance/super effectiveness against each other.--ForceFire 04:36, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Just Curious

I know the site will likely be put on lockdown on or just before November 21. Being the random sporadic editor, I want to know how I can avoid being locked from editing my sporadic but helpful edits. I think I've proven by now I'm not a troublesome editor, and want to figure that out before the lockdown so I don't have edits waiting to be made, or have to request others to make edits on rarely viewed talk pages. I can even handle edit requests myself during the time. =) CycloneGU (talk) 01:02, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

Ask Kogoro. There technically is a way, but Kogoro would probably be a better person to explain it to you.--ForceFire 01:07, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
I'll do that in a bit then. Thanks for the quick reply. CycloneGU (talk) 01:36, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

We don't discuss the "power" of Ash's Pokemon because it is very opinionated, which is something we don't want on Bulbapedia. If you want to make a discussion about Ash's Pokemon, you can do so at the forums--ForceFire 03:45, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

It's still not notable. It is all opinion. --ForceFire 02:03, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Fletchinder

Extremely not agree. The spoiler has been revealed in the movie, and the article links to Fletchinder already. How to explain why Ash has a Fletchinder in the movie? Raymond 06:09, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

To me, I am very extremely against the move until XY036 airs, as the Fletchinder in the movie could be a new one other than the Fletchling i.e. Ash has both Fletchling and Fletchinder at the same time. However, it has been moved. Raymond 06:14, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
The more important reason is, there is a Fletchling in XY036. Raymond 06:15, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
The episode where Fletchling evolved hasn't aired yet, thus we don't change it yet. The only pages needing change from Flectchling to Fletchinder are the main "Ash's Fletchling"'s page and its redirects, the Ash's Pokemon template and Fletchling's VA page.--ForceFire 06:58, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
I am going to presume that Fletchinder is newly caught other than evolve from the Fletchling now (Of course I know that it evolves in XY036), as XY036 doesn't air. However my words shows only debut at M17 only, not telling if it is caught or evolve. That's what I want to do before. It seems more fair. Raymond 07:06, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
This is the first time ever that Ash has an evolved from in the movie earlier than it's evolution episode airs. This scenario may unlikely happen again at the future. So what I will do a template in my userspace to show how to express evolve from is actually the same or not. Raymond 07:15, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Just wait for a few more days... honestly...--ForceFire 07:31, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Well, it is very opinionated to assume that the Fletchinder in the movie is evolve from the Fletchling. I now hereby listing what happened for Fletchling/Fletchinder or not.
 • Yes: Ash has a Fletchling in the TV series.
 • Yes: Ash has a Fletchinder in the movie.
 • No: Ash's Fletchling evolved into Fletchinder.
Objectively, it is only known that Ash has a Fletchling in the anime at this moment and a Fletchinder in the movie, but the evolution is not yet confirmed. If XY024 airs and the anime running in the same period, the debut of Fletchinder would be not at this Thursday but the following Thursday already. This is not the problem of few days only already. Raymond 07:45, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
... which is exactly why we wait for the episode to air to confirm it...--ForceFire 07:49, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Well, for me, I'd express it as "Ash's Fletchinder is a Pokemon which debuted in M17, but the catch is not yet seen in the TV series. The article written at the following is just assumed by evolve from his Fletchling." It is more fair for the readers who did not watch the movie but watch the last episode of TV series. Raymond 07:58, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
That would imply that Fletchinder and Fletchling aren't the same Pokemon. If readers don't want to be spoiled, they would avoid the page and an page relating to it.--ForceFire 08:12, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
That is not palliative. Someone only watched the TV anime would ask, where is Fletchling? Then how could we answer them? By the way, this issue should not only be discuss by ourselves. Shall we take it to the open area? Raymond 09:40, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Primal Groudon

I think Primal Groudon needs a "Type Effectiveness Chart" for its ground-fire typing.- unsigned comment from Elephant1 (talkcontribs)

I believe we only add that information until after the games are released. I could be wrong though...--ForceFire 02:21, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

Light of Ruin

Can we finally confirm this and move it to the mainspace? Serebii confirms it, and there are Youtube videos on it.

While it's speculation to think we'll get this Floette someday as a Mystery Gift, but clearly when it exists it already knows or can learn this move. Thus it would be important to note that it (the move) cannot be legitimately obtained and used by anyone at this time. Though I wonder if it will show up in Hoenn; that would be cool. CycloneGU (talk) 01:40, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response, there was an internet outage in my area (apparently). As you know, Serebii is in no way an official source, and so are countless YouTube videos. I know it's a pain having us say "wait until it is officially confirmed" and "If we can't replicate it , it isn't confirmed", but it's the rules. But hey, if people could wait for Diancie, I'm sure people can wait for this... right?--ForceFire 00:59, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
Haha, I wish Nintendo would just confirm Voncanion and Hoopa already. It'll be a year for one, two for the other. CycloneGU (talk) 01:00, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Sky Battle error in XY036

How is Ash using two ineligible Pokémon for Sky Battles not an error? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 06:23, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Adding plot summaries for undubbed anime episodes

Would it be OK if I create plot summaries for episodes that recently aired in Japan but not in the US? --Rikeo (talk) 14:59, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

I believe that's okay. Though place a spoiler tag before the summary as the episode hasn't been dubbed and those in the west probably wouldn't want to be spoiled or anything (not like viewing the page is spoiler enough).--ForceFire 03:34, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

"Unneeded redirect page"

If you take a minute to do a search for zam, you'll find the mediawiki search returns no results, except for the obviously unrelated Zap. As there is literally no downside to having a redirect for Zam, and an obvious upside, what is your logic in deleting it? The entire point of redirects is to speed up the process of finding a page. Deleting it slows down that process. "Zam" is an incredibly common nickname for a single pokemon that has existed since gen 1 - I can't see a single reason why you would delete that redirect (let alone speedily delete it with no discussion or even bringing it to the notice of the editor, which is poor wiki etiquette). -Auron 09:15, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Redirects like these are for common spelling errors, not common nicknames. I didn't feel the need to discuss it since it was very obvious that the redirect was not needed under the criteria I had just stated.--ForceFire 09:35, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Trivia

The Kalos Trivia just removed is actually true. Maybe I should of worded it differently, because I was including Gym Leaders (and as the articles such as Indigo League etc. included the Gym Leaders, I didn't see the need to directly state Gym Leaders AND Elite Four AND Champions). Sinnoh has 6 women and 7 men, and Unova has 10 men in BW, 7 men in B2W2 and 6 women in BW and 6 in B2W2, meaning Kalos is the only female dominant one. ----samm :D 12:10, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Ah, though you meant just the Elite 4 + Champion. Also, I made a mistake with Sinnoh, Lucian's a guy not a girl. Silly me. You're right though, all together, Kalos is female dominant.--ForceFire 12:26, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Re: Success

I'm sorry for saying the things I do, as you are not even a member of ProjectVA, but how can I not when you look at the story in full perspective? The whole reasoning for Jo the Marten's "Unknown" label simply equated to "she's not Lisa Ortiz," which was not only clear as day to begin with, but also something that, conversely, remained untouched for nearly a decade if for no other reason than a lack of proper research on a fundamental level. The answer was right in front of you the entire time, but alas, the site's mantra kills the premise of user-submitted content in this category - the very foundation of this site - so all the staff involved in that area of the site only really succeed in doing in this area was putting a bag on their head and pretend to be invisible so they wouldn't get in trouble by their hypothetical parents/guardians. It's a hypocritical practice that only keeps them locked in the darkness, and this whole incident only goes to show how stubborn they are in turning a trivial matter into a critical mass due to nothing more than a false disposition.

Fortunately, some of us still believe in our own power. And that is what makes this so worthy to discuss.

I don't need to prove anything for you personally, however. You have demonstrated time and again to be this site's impenetrable defensive line, the white blood cell in their system, and you do a very good job of that. Despite our confrontations I don't bare any grudge against you. Even so, I feel obligated to play the role of muckraker here when one such as myself can easily see through the flaws of its design made by user and admin alike. I pretty much have it down to a science now.

For whatever reason you have to follow me everywhere, just know that I will never criticize you in retaliation. I am much too old to be playing that childish game.

If you must know why I didn't go after this personal example, it's because I, too, have a life. Also, my efforts were made in contacting Hollingshead instead, as well as other VAs in other works. Additionally, I had heard GamerGeek had asked Tara about this as well, so I did not particularly need to contact her myself at this time. The situation was already in good hands, you see. Rosebr10 (talk) 12:07, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

So... you know our policy then? So... why are you complaining? I have said time and time again, find a source that isn't credits or playing by ear. That is my main point. But you seem to be unable to understand that. "The answer is right in front of you" is you basically saying that it is in the credits.
"Unknown" just mean that we have no idea and that someone should go look that up. The only reason why I'm not doing anything regarding finding VA is because I don't feel comfortable doing so.
I wouldn't mind if you (or anyone in that matter) was going around getting sources. But stop going on about "X sounds like Y so it must be Z" or "It says X in the credits so Y must be X" for every other character (which your userpage clearly does). I only "follow" your edit because I check every edit made on the recent changes by new users or users who tend to make critical errors like playing by ear/credits.
Again, The site just has strict policy and rules that you clearly can't abide to.--ForceFire 13:20, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Just to further my point, the policy is like this because the staff of the dub asked us to do this as there were many cases of people playing by ear and getting it wrong.--ForceFire 13:49, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Ok...

I understand that Barry and a few others could possibly not be only children. But I know that Ash, Molly Hale, James, Serena, Dawn, and possibly Tracey and Jessie, are all only children. I understand. - unsigned comment from QueenElsa11 (talkcontribs)

Serena and Dawn ARE only children. There is visual evidence. But Ash... he can't be an only child. If he REALLY is, I wish I were that way. He must have a sister out there... missing. - unsigned comment from QueenElsa11 (talkcontribs)
No. Just because Dawn and Serena aren't shown to have siblings does not mean that she is an only child. Ash has visual evidence asthere is a photo in the third movie that proves it.--ForceFire 02:42, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Ok. I understand now. Ash could be the only child of his parents, but maybe when Ash was born, his dad left on his journey and took his twin sister with him. The photo doesn't have Ash's father in it, so it doesn't COMPLETELY prove it. About Dawn, people say she is the only child of Johanna. I believe that to be true. Also, about Mega Evolution. Do you think Ash will get a Mega Ring? Are strong bonds really involved? - unsigned comment from QueenElsa11 (talkcontribs)

Now you're just speculating. Ash is an only child because the photo only shows him, and we know that his father left when he was young. Misty also says that Ash is an only child in Princess vs Princess. If you want to discuss whether Ash will get a Mega Ring, you can discuss it on the forums.--ForceFire 11:45, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Ok. I get it now. So he really IS the only child of Delia Ketchum. Ash and James of Team Rocket are only children, so they can relate. I have a brother and I wish I was an only child myself. Being like James and Ash would be fun. Anyway, I am working on a Fanfiction based on Pokémon Omicron. Elsa Woods, my player character, is an only child that lived with her mother, the league champion Aria Woods, until she left on her journey at the age of 10. Elsa's father left on a Pokémon Journey after his daughter was born. Ash and Elsa can relate. I am not talking about Frozen's Elsa.- unsigned comment from QueenElsa11 (talkcontribs)

Primal reversion TE chart vs. Mega evoluion TE chart

In my previous post, you said the type effectiveness chart for Primal Groudon will only be added after the Hoenn remakes are released. However, I noticed that Mega Altaria and Mega Lopunny have type effectiveness charts for their new respective typings. What is the difference between giving unreleased Mega Evolutions a new type effectiveness chart and giving Primal Groudon a type effectiveness chart?

As a side note, how do I reply to a previous post? As you can see, I couldn't figure it out, so I created a new one. Elephant1 (talk) 05:21, 10 August 2014 (UTC)Elephant1

To reply, simply click the edit but that is beside the title of this section. As for the chart, I did say that I was unsure about it. But if the megas have the type effectiveness chart, I guess Primal Groudon can have it as well.--ForceFire 05:35, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

List of type combinations by abundance trivia wording

As you have noticed, Disgraced has taken exception to my wording of the first trivia point on the List of type combinations by abundance page. There is nothing really wrong with my wording, and it's more accurate than what Disgraced wants to use. I also phrased it as I originally did to deliberately parallel the second half.

I also believe that Disgraced is being swayed by a prejudice against me stemming from our disagreement over a different part of that page (and Type)... Is Disgraced stepping over the line here, or should I let the wording slide...or what? I would really like the trivia point to use the word "nearly" in both places... Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:52, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Either wording is fine by me. In my opinion, you're both making an argument over nothing with that trivia point. Both words are basically saying the same thing.
As for Disgraced's behavior, I think he needs to calm down a bit. You are correct in your argument, I will admit. I'll drop him a message saying to calm down and not assume the others are against him just because he isn't getting their way. I think its best to avoid him for the mean time.--ForceFire 04:09, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Concert Advert on Top

Think we can remove August 16 from the header for the "Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions concert tour". CycloneGU (talk) 01:08, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Only an Editorial Board member (or higher) can edit that. I'm pretty sure an Editorial Board member will get to it.--ForceFire 03:46, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Ah. Not sure if there's a way for me to disable those; I don't seem to see one built-in. CycloneGU (talk) 04:02, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Mega Lopunny

Is there something there that should not be? Also, could you revise my grammar in that article? It's because I'm Mexican and I'm studying English, but I'm not sure if that's the proper grammar. --Blinx9999guizar (talk) 18:02, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

I reckon that's alright. Good job.--ForceFire 02:25, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

editing template:Games

Hi there, I am Cadellin, an editor who has floated around here on and off since about 2008;

Editing the pokemon game templates recently and discovered that one needs administrator privelages; if you would fix it I would be very happy:

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Template:Games

The template lists links for both 'Side series' and 'Spin-off series'. Since a move a while back, template:side_series is merely a redirect to template:spin-off_series and so does not need to be listed. Cheers. --Cadellin (talk) 23:12, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

There was a discussion about this a few months ago, though I'm not sure if we have come to a agreement on this THe only reason for it not having been solved is because it isn't really high on our priority list at the moment.--ForceFire 03:05, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

I've been to the forums, but I'm so lost! I can't figure it out! WATERWARRIOR67 (talk) 14:34, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Just go to the the main forum section and pick a subsection you want to create a discussion from. You also need an account if you haven't already got one.--ForceFire 14:45, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Question

Is There and an administrator request page or do I Make a request for an edit on a locked page directly?

--Doddman (talk) 03:08, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

You can ask an admin to edit a locked page. Just say which page it is and what you want added.--ForceFire 03:29, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

OK Thanks

Pokemon Hacks - Requesting/Help Page in fourms

Hi, I'm interested in creating a Pokemon Hack. I know we have a page in BP about hacks, but is there a place to discuss them on out forums? - unsigned comment from AnimeMagic (talkcontribs)

Why not?

Why did you remove my signature? Someone left a small note saying that I forgot to sign what I said in the talk page, so I fixed it and added my signature. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 22:51, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Because you cannot resign an unsigned comment, even if you resign it with the correct date. You just can't resign it no mater what.--ForceFire 03:10, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Mirage Cave Article

So I never played the Mystery Dungeon Games, so I was surprised to find out there was a Mirage Cave article that wasn't related to the new Mirage spots in ORAS. So should the current Mirage Cave be retrofitted to cover both versions, or should a new article or set of articles be coined? Like have Mirage Cave (Mystery Dungeon) and Mirage Spot (Cave) ? Yamitora1 (talk) 20:57, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Are they both called Mirage Cave? Because what you're implying is that in MD, it's called Mirage Cave whilst in ORAS, it's called Mirage Spot. Either way, they should be in two separate articles with the (Mystery Dungeon) and (ORAS). (If they are the same place, is not, then omit the parenthesis).--ForceFire 03:06, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Both are called Mirage Cave, Any Pokémon Caught in a Mirage Cave will say so in their location met data. Lady Ariel has suggested that the MD version be called Mirage Cave (Mystery Dungeon) and the ORAS version called Mirage Cave (Hoenn) This also affects the Mirage Island Article (although not as much) but also affects the Mirage Forest article (which redirects to a TCG article for some Region I only heard of today since I never played the TCG)

I am currently trying to make a Mirage Spots article, which will direct readers to any further needed articles. Yamitora1 (talk) 04:04, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

If there are multiple mirage locations, they should be compiled into one article. I don't have ORAS, but I'm assuming this is similar to the rustling grass or rippled water where certain location would have these?--ForceFire 04:43, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
No, its kind of like a temporary Friend Safari I guess? But many of them are like In-Game Event locations for rare pokemon. Its like a mix and match of past and present features. Yamitora1 (talk) 05:34, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Personally, I think it would be best to place it all on one page. Does this have a collective term?--ForceFire 05:59, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
I guess I am not explaining this too well lol. Well, Maybe the Mirage Island article should just be retrofitted for the time being, since from what I gather, most of these mirage spots are new versions of the Mirage Island. Yamitora1 (talk) 06:06, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Is it one solitary place or three different places? You've mentioned Mirage Cave, Mirage Forest and Mirage Island, so I'm guessing it's an event that happens in different areas. I assume "Mirage Spots" is the collective term for these areas. If so, create a page for Mirage Spots and add the mirage area info in it.--ForceFire 06:14, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
The Mirage Cave, Mirage Forest, Mirage Island, and Mirage Mountain are different locations. Each has about 8 possible locations where they can appear with different Pokémon for each one. I think the best way to handle these are to have the pages Mirage Islands, Mirage Caves, Mirage Forests, and Mirage Mountains, each covering all the 8 locations on the one page. Of course have the Mirage Islands page of Gen VI be a separate page from Mirage Island of Gen III. Adamws (talk) 06:19, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Then creating separate pages for each would be ideal. For the parenthesis, I'd go with generation number.--ForceFire 06:29, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Until those articles can be made, and Mirage Cave (Mystery Dungeon), Mirage Forest (TGC) and Mirage Island (Gen III) made separate, I have temporarily put some of the info for the Mirage Islands on the Mirage Island article.

This is still all new, so it'll take some time to figure out how to sort the info. However the way I understand it, the Hierarchy goes Mirage Spots -> Mirage Islands and it seems that Mirage Caves, Mirage Forests and Mirage Mountains are subspecies of Mirage Islands. lol We'll figure it out. Mirage Spots is the collective terms. At least it seems that most people are making it out to be that way. Like I said, we'll figure it out. Yamitora1 (talk) 06:52, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

If it's not an in-game term, we won't use mirage spots as the title. Create a starting article on the other mirage spots on your userpage so people can edit that as they play.--ForceFire 06:57, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Its an official term, and a old man in Pacifidlog town mentioned Mirage Spots in-game. To My knowledge he Use to be the guy you would talk to in the original RSE and ask if the Mirage Island showed up. So that further hints that Mirage Islands are a subset to the Mirage Spots system.Yamitora1 (talk) 07:11, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
I see, I see. If that's the case, you can create a page called "Mirage Spot" in your userpage as a start.--ForceFire 07:21, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User:Yamitora1 here it is. This is what i have so dar. Going call it a night now and work fresh in the morning Yamitora1 (talk) 07:22, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
That's an okay start. Hopefully other users will see the page and add info on it.--ForceFire 07:34, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
It looks like a article has been made that covers most of this. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Soaring_in_the_sky Unfortunately there are still some hurdles we must address before we're gold. I'm going to post this on that article's talk page. Yamitora1 (talk) 00:34, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Ah, it's only accessible by Soaring. Thought it was accessible by normal means. Anyways, yeah, looks like all the information can be placed there. As for the separate pages, create them in your userspace (or just search for them in case someone else has already started it) and just add whatever you can. Also, is the term really "Soaring in the Sky"? I feel like there would be an actual term for it.--ForceFire 03:54, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, the name of that article seems off. It should be just Soar or Soaring. Like how Fly is just Fly. Also the article says its a location? The article needs some TLC. Yamitora1 (talk) 04:38, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I feel it's more of a mechanic than a location.--ForceFire 04:54, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Generation VI sprites

Since XY sprites have been uploaded to Bulbagarden, when will they be added to the sprite template on the actual pages here? --SuperPikaBros 21:31, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

They'll eventually be added in the template. Most likely after we've finished with ORAS, and by finished I mean when we feel that there is sufficient information about ORAS that we can do other things.--ForceFire 03:49, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Template problems

I need some help setting up the template so I can update the Hoenn dex numbers of ORAS for Gallade's page onward. If you could help with that particular page then I can carefully handle the rest on my own. -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:54, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

The PokemonInfobox has been updated accordingly yet. I'll update it now.--ForceFire 03:57, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Okay, if you do that and update Gallade's page, I take over from there. -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:58, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Looks like it'll be pushed to the side for a bit. It'll be updated when the others feel it is safe to edit the template (as editing it would most likely crash the servers).--ForceFire 04:05, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Okay. Understood. -Tyler53841 (talk) 04:07, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
The template has been updated. I've done Gallade and Surskit so far. The parameter is hdex6 and add "N/A" as the hdex parameter for Pokémon that were added to the dex.--ForceFire 11:42, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
I saw and observed what happened on my own for the updates on the Old Hoenn Dex Pokémon and the new additions and I took over and completed the remainder of those updates on my own. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:25, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Also took care of all the work for the disambiguation pages, so all the new numbering-based work has been done. -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:11, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! Good job on getting the pages up to date.--ForceFire 03:09, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
At least a large project is out of the way. -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:11, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Protection

Seems somebody unlocked the pedia too well: protecting pages isn't doing anything. Your lock on the Legendary page didn't stop people from editing and I can still edit Ash's Frogadier. glikglak 12:19, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

I only locked new users from editing Legendary Pokémon. I've unlocked Ash's Frogadier so anyone can edit that.--ForceFire 12:21, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Hiya

I'll disclose that I also also asked SnorlaxMonster about this, but just in case he doesn't know himself wanted to ask someone else too.

As that link says, I am basically adding new Egg Moves for Minun (and eventually Plusle as well), but I am not sure how to tag that the Egg Moves are in OR/AS only; in this case, Charm and Fake Tears are showing up IN THE FIELD as Egg Moves replacing the first move on both species, and though I haven't reached the breeder yet, the fact that they are showing up via the new mechanic confirms that they are Egg Moves themselves. I haven't done the breeding research to see who else can pass down the move, but for now Plusle and Minun themselves are the only mates I've labeled. (I also succeeded in finding a Lv.16 Plusle earlier, via DexNav, that turned out to know Charm itself; I've made edits to DexNav exclusive for single (non-horde) encounters for this reason.)

So my attempts to add the OR/AS tag were futile, I'm guessing because the tags were never created for the breed5 template. I have done research and found, for instance, Munchlax has a "HG/SS" tag on its Gen IV breeding set and recalled Cinccino being unable to learn Thief via TM in B/W (corrected in B2/W2, thus the tag here next to the move in question), but looking at the code, I find it doesn't work for the breed5 template, suggesting the code doesn't exist for those tags there. This suspicion is confirmed when I see the following in the second "style" line on the template (converted as displayed, not in code form which you'd see in edit mode):

BW=BW

This needs to be updated to have an X/Y and OR/AS tag as I am sure there are other Egg Moves that are exclusive to OR/AS. If Minun could then be updated, then it can be copied to Plusle as well (the two new Egg Moves, that is) and either used as a reference for future exclusive Egg Moves. I'd add the code myself, but I don't have editing rights to the template and likely never will. =) CycloneGU (talk) 17:21, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

UPDATE: I have looked and found that breed6 now exists, created last month. I'm going to compare the two tags and see if I can figure out the differences. Of note, I see that editing is currently available to me for breed6, but I'm going to do some testing in my space to try adding the tags before I apply any updates there. Perhaps after I finish this research and possibly make edits, the template can be locked at that point? Once I know my tests work, I'll update Minun's egg move list over to the breed6 template after making the necessary edits on the template and then do the same for Plusle. Clearly, all breed5 need to be updated to breed6 on all pages, but more important to get the mechanics working first.
Gotta go do a chore, but will be researching right after that. CycloneGU (talk) 17:30, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I've done more research. I don't know if we can create templates in user space. Can we create our own templates for testing in the template space and link to them from our user space? I'm can create "breed6Cyc" for testing and clearly note it's for testing, and once testing is complete and breed6 updated it can be deleted. Either way, I have looked at the structure of both breed5 and breed6 and found that the addition of OR/AS should be easy, as is X/Y; I'm going to look at the breed4 structure as well to make sure I don't mess up trying to add two as B2/W2 don't have their own switch on the breed5 template (probably nothing on that template exclusive to it). CycloneGU (talk) 17:51, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I decided to be bold. Minun's breeding is changed completely over using data straight from the game for beauty, appeal, etc. but the switch isn't working. The template clearly needs another edit somewhere, but I am not sure where. It's possible, even though I mimicked the breed4 template perfectly, that something else needs to be created for it to function properly. Please review that and see what needs to be done? I'm finished editing for now until the switch works, then I'll see if I can add breeding research for Charm and Fake Tears before copying everything over to Plusle's page (since they are identical). CycloneGU (talk) 18:24, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

If you're editing out English VA's from articles that source the credits...

Then you should probably edit out the English VA's for Argus Steel, Marilyn Flame, Ninja Riot, Xerneas, Dace and Merrick from the Movie 17 article since the source for their English VA's is the credits.Fire-flash (talk) 04:53, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

They have been rectified.--ForceFire 05:31, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Ash's Fletchinder

How come you erased the trivia regarding Fletchinder? It was discussed in the talk page long before it evolved to put it in after its evolution. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:14, 26 December 2014 (UTC)

The Fire types Ash had rescued and subsequently caught were Fire types when they were rescued and subsequently caught. Fletchinder, was not a Fire type when it was caught, so it is invalid.--ForceFire 03:03, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Ash's rivals

You might want to take care of the images with Ash's other rivals similar to what you did here, unless I'm missing something. PattyMan 03:47, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Just checked Paul's page and realize what you mean. The image was placed in the trivia section making me think what's so trivial about the image. As for it's placement... I'm not too sure. The page is already image heavy, but I guess you could take one of the anime images out.--ForceFire 04:06, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
I could take out the image of him with the laptop since its only focusing on the item itself instead of him. The laptop image could be useful somewhere else but I'm not sure where to put it. PattyMan 04:13, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't think the laptop image is needed. I don't think there is a place that image could go to, to be honest. I'd just replace it and leave it be.--ForceFire 04:29, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Synchronize (ability) redirect

Thanks for merging the talk pages, but I was hoping the redirect it was paired with would be deleted too... Thanks! =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Other ability redirects like these are still on the wiki. I'm assuming they don't get deleted.--ForceFire 04:01, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Incomplete Section

I believe that the Azalea town gym section is incomplete. It is only 2 sentences and other sections that have more specific links have at least 4 sentences. e.g. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Chimecho_(Pokémon)#James.27s_Chimecho --RockinJack18 (talk) 14:07, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

You should use other Gym sections from other city/town articles for a better comparison. I did notice that the Violet City and Goldenrod City Gym section is indeed more detailed. If you want to add more info on it, that's fine.--ForceFire 14:15, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Tangela

I take no side in this, I'm just wondering. Why is this not trivia-worthy? CycloneGU (talk) 03:26, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Too specific, IIRC.--ForceFire 03:31, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Hmm. Not sure what that means, but all right. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:45, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Edit Permissions?

I'm currently in the area of the Igglybuff/Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff articles editing TM lists and I see you protected Jigglypuff about 7-8 hours ago now. Any chance I can get the edit permissions necessary to edit Jigglypuff's list? I have no interest in what went on (and am aware of it as well, as I commented to the person in question at one point). Hope I don't have to wait for a couple of days when I have the edit ready to go right now. CycloneGU (talk) 17:53, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

You can either wait for the two day protection to expire or just send me the code so I can copy and paste the code onto the page.--ForceFire 03:16, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Ah, so there's no way to let anyone around it. That's too bad.
I'll try to wait - at least it's only two days. I think it expires before I have to go on Monday, and that will let me get it in before my laptop gets torn apart. Plus I'm still doing more lists, so it's in my incomplete section. CycloneGU (talk) 03:20, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Technically, if I felt I was too harsh on the protection, I may have unprotected it. But I figured two days was enough.--ForceFire 03:29, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
I personally thought with only one user involved, he had to be aware he should stop adding the content, and I don't think he's going to try to edit war again - I mean, at that point, he's risking being able to edit at all. I've seen another user do a lot of editing recently on a bunch of pages (I helped revert some of it), and much more than this user did, and those pages never got protected according to Recent Changes (and the edits did stop, perhaps the user was blocked and that just doesn't show). In this case, I think a final warning would have been enough, and any additional attempt to add the content gets him blocked temporarily, and others could continue to edit as needed. But I'm in no position to question these decisions, and like I said it's not a big deal anyway, so...yeah, I am working on the Spheal family now, not a big deal.
My goal now is really to finish the Hoenn group, anyway, then if I have to use a loaner for a couple of weeks I'll just create a temporary folder there for doing only Unova and Kalos species for TM/HM, catch locations, and Pokédex entries (where there is no Ruby/Sapphire to say is identical, and must be checked). Jigglypuff should be done before I have to use a loaner, and I'll try to use mine after getting it looked at until the repair can be made, but based on the last time this happened, it's gone for two weeks. My problem is that the ones not in the Hoenn Dex - and of those, that's pretty much all of them - need to be checked in Alpha Sapphire as well, and I'm using that for rematch research, so I might have to finish THAT project before looking for Dex information in that game (I can do OR at my leisure). Man, I'm taking on a lot. =) At least Jigglypuff's TM list can be updated before I leave on Monday. CycloneGU (talk) 03:49, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
I did tell him to stop on his talk age, but he continued to put the info back. For me, the point of the protection was to prevent further edit warring. If the protection expires and he continues the edits, that's another story.--ForceFire 04:17, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Indeed, at that point it becomes a big problem for him. CycloneGU (talk) 04:18, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

New Move Pages in Relicant's Userspace

I asked Relicant to pop in, but since you moved Hoopa and Crystal Talian moved Volcanion, I thought I better invite you to comment over here as well. There is concern that Volcanion should not be there yet. I know Crystal Talian is above you and am not asking you to overrule thus, just to discuss regarding the move pages being relocated since we have broken links on them on both pages that would lead to at least two of them. CycloneGU (talk) 02:50, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

I originally just intended to move Hoopa's page, Volcanion's move was a surprise to me as well. If you want to know why it was moved, ask Crystal Talian. As for the moves, I'd so no. Not sure what the other admins would say, but my decision would be not to move it.--ForceFire 03:14, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
I asked and shortly thereafter saw all five linked move pages (including the ones I suggested weren't needed yet) moved over to namespace, with Magnadeth helping with finishing their setup. I guess he's satisfied with them! I pointed out that Hyperspace Fury is still missing and linked to one source I had, so I'm leaving that in their hands from there. CycloneGU (talk) 05:34, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Note, I didn't say that I didn't want them moved because they're not ready. I didn't want them moved because they weren't officially released, which is something the staff have been saying all this time. But if the higher ups feels that they should be moed, I won't argue against that decision.--ForceFire 05:44, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
My apologies on the misquote then, that was my miswording. And yeah, I wasn't sure if they knew the move pages were there, hence why I pointed them out. CycloneGU (talk) 06:42, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Can you please explain why you deleted the comparison between Looker and Doctor Who in Looker's trivia page?

I stated within that edit that I was not posting speculation as fact, and that I was well aware that it was not GameFreak's intention, but it still seemed relevant regardless because it was still Trivia that connected Looker to that character. In fact the connections between The Doctor and Audino seemed rather "too specific" that it felt like an easter egg if anything. Trivia isn't necessarily "all fact" as long as there is enough basis to make a connection and people find it interesting. Moogleknight24 (talk) 15:10, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Moogleknight24

There was a note on the article not to add anything related to Doctor Who, yet you went ahead and added it. If you want to discuss it, discuss it in the talk page of the articles, don't just ignore a hidden warning.--ForceFire 15:32, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

I'm really sorry, but the way you said that, makes it sound like I'm a troublemaker who purposely avoids rules. I did not ignore it, because I did not know that rule existed, and I apologize for not noticing. Can you link me to the rules page (to avoid this in the future) please? Moogleknight24 (talk) 15:40, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Moogleknight

Actually never mind, I'll look for it myself. If I can't find the rules page on my own, I probably shouldn't be editing. I apologize for any trouble. Moogleknight24 (talk) 15:53, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Moogleknight24
There is no rule on it, the note said <!--Please do not add any mention of the 10th Doctor--> in the Character Origin section.--ForceFire 03:56, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry to butt in but... in this case why is the reference to Lupin the Third still on the page? It is equally opinionated. --Maxim (talk) 15:53, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Mega Salamence

I have read your response, and honestly, that is not the right comparison to make.

The same goes with my trivia.- unsigned comment from Mega Charizard Z (talkcontribs)

3) Two trainers having the same Pokémon is not notable. Any two trainers can have the same Pokémon, regardless of whether it is a Mega or a shiny.
4) I know that trivia should be interesting to everybody, but at the same time, it shouldn't be dull. Two trainers having the same Pokémon? So what? Ash and Dawn have a Quilava. Brock and Roark have an Onix. It's not that far-fetched.--ForceFire 12:14, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
