:Pokemon like Darmanitan have their stat changes hard-coded into their forms. However, for Cherrim, Flower Gift changes its form ''and then'' alters its stats — these are separate functions of the Ability. If we gave a stat chart for the post-Flower Gift stats, that could mislead people into thinking Cherrim's Sunshine Form is hard-coded to start with those stats and then has them further increased by Flower Gift's effects. Bud form?

Shouldn't we put a picture of its bud form in the evolution box instead of the bloomed form. Because it's the bud form that is shown in the Pokédex. The bloomed form isn't. You will see the bud form more often than you will see it in bloom. It's similar to Castform. Cherrim only blooms when there is a Sunny Day in progress. Thats why I think that it should be the bud sprite that is displayed in the evolution box and the bloomed form should be below it and have the text "During Sunny Day" or something. --ケンジガール 03:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I guess. It's just that the blooming form is the art, so it might confuse someone, plus the blooming form's uploaded at 421.png, so we'd have to upload over it, then upload the bloomed form as 421_b.png, for consistency. TTEchidna 05:13, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Burmy and Wormadam have a gif in the evolution box. If someone could create the same for Cherrim, that would be great. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:29, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Back Sprite?

Does it look a bit off colored? Darkmaster0 00:00, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

It does. What's wrong with it? Who screwed it up? TTEchidna 01:51, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
I don't think it was like that last time. What could have happened? It's the Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links08:41 28 May 2008
*goes off too look at it* ...It's all negative?! How'd that happen? o____o' Takoto タコト| サソデイ = 愛 10:18, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Having just otained a Cherrim in Diamond, I can now see that the back sprites are not what shows up in the game. The ones we have right now were in the original sprite rip so blame that. I'll fix it but it probably won't show up on the page for a week... --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Forget what I said about a week. Apparently, changing an image isn't affected by the current issues with the Archives. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:50, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Evobox

Why does it look like a branch evolution when Cherrim actually sort of "evolves" into its sunny form (at least as much as Rotom or Castform does)?--MisterE13 13:35, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Because someone got lazy. TTEchidna 08:56, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Form names

I'm new to Bulbapedia, so I was wondering, how come I can't edit individual Pokemon pages? In addition, could someone add the "Positive" and "Negative" form names for Cherrim's forms, since I can't do it myself? (Phoenix1417 18:36, 28 October 2009 (UTC))

What's the source for these names? I haven't heard about these Forme names ever before. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 18:39, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Pokémon pages are currently locked for a copyrights issue. We duly apologise and hope everything will back really soon, once this whole mess sorts itself out. For more information, see the Messages from the Editor.
I imagine the names are fan-given monikers. Not without reason, though, they do make sense in absence of any official name given by Nintendo. Mailbag, anyone? Oops, I thought you were questioning the current names. I doubt the verifiability of Positive/Negative; the Overcast/Sunny names or whatever they are are more widely used in any case. —darklordtrom 18:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Yeah yeah just saw that. —darklordtrom 18:49, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I'd wait for Western HGSS release, though, since names do often change during localisation. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 18:50, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

The official English walkthrough for Platinum Version uses the names "Sunshine" and "Overcast" for Cherrim's forms. Translations take a second seat to official English products. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 18:58, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I would wager however, that the names in HGSS are not that. While it is an official guide, that does not mean everything is by Nintendo. I myself have worked at an official magazine and I know that they don't necessary get everything for it. Usually "official" just means "licensed". This is the first time they have been given names and it should be documented as such. It should be games/anime/manga or nothing. --Serebii 22:04, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Can't we however write the Japanese names? ネガフォルム is the Negative Forme, while ポジフォルム is the Positive Forme (source: Serebii). ht14 22:25, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I see your hesitation to include the names, but I think they have already been added to the form differences page. Should those names be left there? Or should they be removed from that page until the North American release of HGSS? (Phoenix1417 02:13, 29 October 2009 (UTC))
Please read above. UltimateSephiroth mentioned it... ht14 02:21, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

(indent reset)I see someone has tagged the Cherrim images at Archives to be moved to different names (reflecting the names Positive and Negative). Since my personal view to this is that we should wait for Western names, I won't move the sprites away. If another admin thinks they should be moved, we can discuss about it, though.

BTW, the figure article has no effect on this. They use Japanese names for Pokémon as well, so their usage of the names Positive and Negative do not reflect the future of Western names in any way. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 09:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

The idea was to have the "bud" sprites at 421 and the "bloomed" sprites at 421<whatever>, I picked P for Positive since it seemed to be going that way but if S (Sunshine) is better thats good for me too. Bud should be the default though IMHO.--MisterE13 22:10, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I

edited the Pokedex section. It was the most accurate translation I could get. The original sounded like this "Would be likely to spread and stir briskly to Hikari cries of the petal solar bud."--Darknesslover5000 05:48, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Funny

any one found out that cherubi's and Cherrim's species names reads "Cherry""Blossom", The choco-cherry candy?--Grhaal 12:56, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Much more likely to be referring to the flower, being a famous Japanese flower. I've never heard of the candy before. --SnorlaxMonster 12:59, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Tackle

Why is tackle's power listed as 50 and not 35 and it's accuracy as 100% instead of 95%?William slattery (talk) 05:43, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Because that's what they are now. Its Power and Accuracy was 35 and 95% respectively before GEneration V.--ForceFire 05:56, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Base Stat Differences Between Forms

I've noticed that there isn't a different stat chart for when Cherim is in its sunshine form. In Sunshine form, Cherim always has 90 base Attack and 117 base Special Defense. So shouldn't there be an additional stat chart for this form change such as like Darmanitan or any other Pokémon that change stats based on ability?

LanceDrake286 (talk) 07:08, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Pokemon like Darmanitan have their stat changes hard-coded into their forms. However, for Cherrim, Flower Gift changes its form and then alters its stats — these are separate functions of the Ability. If we gave a stat chart for the post-Flower Gift stats, that could mislead people into thinking Cherrim's Sunshine Form is hard-coded to start with those stats and then has them further increased by Flower Gift's effects.
