The Pokémon Center nurse (Japanese: ポケモンセンターナース Pokémon Center nurse) is an operator of a Pokémon Center. In Generations I, II, and III, they are also referred to as receptionists (Japanese: うけつけのねーちゃん reception lady). They facilitate the restoration of Trainers' Pokémon to full health, and usually provide this basic service free of charge.

In Sun and Moon, they can be battled at the Battle Tree and Battle Royal Dome under the Trainer class Pokémon Center Lady.

In the main anime, Nurse Joy takes the role of the Pokémon Center nurses.

A Pokémon Center Nurse operates every Pokémon Center in the Pokémon games, usually standing behind the counter and beside a machine which is able to heal the player's Pokémon to full health.

In Pokémon Yellow, the Nurses appear under a different overworld sprite that better matches the official artwork of the time but which also bears a resemblance to the anime's Nurse Joy. They are also all accompanied by Chansey like Nurse Joy.

In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, a nurse named Casey (Japanese: メディ Medi) participates in Master Rank Super Contests with a Chansey nicknamed Pinky.

In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, the player's mom used to be a nurse, outright stated by her during a Xtransceiver conversation. She has mentioned working at Nimbasa City and is implied to have worked at Mistralton City.

In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there is an old lady on Mt. Chimney stating that she used to be a "Pokémon Center girl".

In the anime

In the main series

A Nurse Joy in the Sun & Moon series
Main article: Nurse Joy

In the anime, Pokémon Centers are run by the Nurse Joys (Japanese: ジョーイ Joy, referred to as ジョーイさん Joy-san by most characters).

In Pokémon Origins

File:Pokémon Center Nurse PO.png
A Pokémon Center Nurse in Pokémon Origins

Pokémon Center nurses made a couple of appearances during Pokémon Origins, serving the same role as in the games. The first one was seen in Viridian City in File 1: Red, while another one appeared in Lavender Town in File 2: Cubone. Unlike in most other media, these nurses were different from each other and had different voices as well.

In Pokémon Generations

Pokémon Center nurses made an appearance in The Beauty Eternal.

In the manga

A Nurse Joy from the The Electric Tale of Pikachu

Pokémon Adventures manga

In Wartortle Wars, a Nurse at the Celadon City Pokémon Center healed Red's Pika while Red received a call from Professor Oak.

In Pinsir Changes of the X & Y arc, a Nurse at a Pokémon Center was tied up as Essentia disguised as her to steal Y's Xerneas. Her appearance was based on the nurse within the Generation VI games.

In The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga

In addition to Nurse Joy appearing, several generic nurses appear in The Electric Tale of Pikachu, first appearing in Clefairy Tale. Nurses appear in a wide variety of outfits, which vary from city to city.

In the TCG

A Supporter card called Pokémon Nurse appears in the Expedition Base Set. The art on this card slightly resembles Nurse Joy from the anime, but has blue hair. The nurse appearing on the card also seems to have been based on the games' nurse, since the Trading Card Game is based on the games, rather than the anime.

A second card, titled Pokémon Center Lady, was released in the Flashfire expansion, both as a regular print and a Full Art card. Both have illustrations of Pokémon Center nurses from Generation VI.
