  • Yanmega is the largest bug Pokémon.

Origin

It is, as its name suggested, based on Meganeura monyi species of dragonflies.

Yanmega's name is a combination of 蜻蜓 yanma, large dragonfly in Japanese, and Meganeura, a species of gigantic prehistoric dragonfly. Its Japanese name means the same thing, albiet in reverse.
