Resuming his journey, Ash and Pikachu stopped by the sea. Deciding to relax, Ash took out his pokeballs, sending out Corphish, Totodile, Leavanny, and Rowlet. While Ash’s other pokemon are relaxing, corphish in particular is excited to go into the sea, causing it to crash into the others. Ash worried, asking if the others were alright, they were fine. Corphish continues to swim happily in circles, Ash tells him to come back but was happy to see that corphish was having fun.
A shadow appears underneath the water, piquing Pikachu’s interest by using his tail as a fishing lure. The antennas of a Clauncher can be seen. While Ash was doing his own thing, he and the other pokemon heard Pikachu’s frantic cry. A Clauncher’s claw was attached to Pikachu’s tail. Pikachu uses his body to lift the Clauncher then uses an electric move, letting go of his tail. Pikachu got hit by its Water Gun, whilst hitting Ash to the ground. Corphish can be seen swimming toward, attacking the Clauncher, but the Clauncher avoided his attack. At this moment, Corphish developed a rivalry with the Clauncher. Ash saw how strong the Clauncher was against Corphish. So It was decided, he was going to catch it. But before he could catch it, a lure was wrapped around his wrist. A silhouette above him turns out to be Misty. Misty declared that she would catch it first, but not until it escape by creating a smokescreen with its Water Gun. Corphish upset ran towards the edge calling Clauncher for a rematch. Later, Pikachu can be seen running towards Misty for a hug, leaving out Psyduck, and his attempt for a hug from Pikachu. Ash’s Leavanny cheering him up. While Ash’s and Misty’s Pokemon are having fun. Misty congratulates and acknowledges Ash’s rank as a World Champion. Misty told Ash that she will be the one to catch the Clauncher, she explained that before ash arrived, when using her “Misty Lure,” she had encountered it many times, she believed it was a fate encounter, getting hit by it’s Water Gun multiple times, but fails to catch it. She called the Clauncher cool. Afterwards, they argued to see who would be the ones to catch the Clauncher through a fishing battle. Ash got bored eventually, while misty was patient. Later, both were bickering and calling each other annoying.
The Team Rocket trio were inside a Magikarp Submarine. Jessie, James were expressing how hungry they were, afterwards Mewoth was too. Misty lure got pulled and she tried to reel it in. Simultaneously, The trio witnessed what’s happening, Jessie said that Clauncher looked delicious. Both Misty and ash were pulled into the water after their attempts to reeling the Clauncher. Both failed but agree they would have to battle for it.
Latias was shown again flying above, observing Ash. Misty joins ash along on his journey.
