ThunderShock (Japanese: でんきショック Electric Shock) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I
ThunderShock inflicts damage and has a 9.8% chance of paralyzing the target. ThunderShock cannot paralyze a target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
Generation II onwards
The effects of ThunderShock continue into this generation, however, it has a 10% chance of paralyzing the target.
In the anime
Pokémon
Pikachu. Pikachu lights up and then releases a lighting bolt. ThunderShock was one of Pikachu's first moves, and often used it on Ash. The visual effect varies, from being a ball of electricity to an electrical wave.
- Used by Ash's Pikachu from Pokémon - I Choose You!' to ??? Debut.
Ampharos. Same as above.
- Used by Watt's Ampharos in Manectric Charge!.
Flaaffy. Same as above.
- Used by Sullivan's Flaaffy, Hannah, in Whiscash and Ash.
