Born to Be a Winner is the opening theme to the fourth season of the English-language Pokémon dub, Johto League Champions, as well as the fourth Pokémon movie, Celebi: Voice of the Forest. It was used from EP158 to EP209. Lyrically, it borrows heavily from the original Pokémon Theme. The opening uses footage from the fourth Japanese opening, Aim to Be a Pokémon Master Whiteberry Version, as well as original footage created for the opening.

Lyrics
(Pokémon! Pokémon! Pokémon...)
Let's do it
I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was (ever was, ever was)
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
My whole life has led to this
Time to test my skills
I know I just can't miss
Gonna show the world
Born to be a winner (Johto!)
Born to be a champion
Born to be a winner
Born to be the very best (Pokémon Johto)
Born to be a winner!
Pokémon!
Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face (courage I will face)
I will battle every day
To claim my rightful place
Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team (there's no better team!)
Arm in arm we'll win the fight
Gonna live our dream
Born to be a winner
Born to be a champion
Born to be a winner
Born be the very best (the very best)
(instrumental break)
I was born to be a winner
Born to be a champion
Born to be a winner
Born be the very best
Born to be a winner!
(born to be the very best)
Born to be a winner,
Pokémon!
Trivia
- The fact that this theme borrows heavily from the original is similar to how Aim to Be a Pokémon Master, the first Japanese opening theme, was remixed and used as the fourth Japanese opening theme.
- Oddly, most of the animation used is original. Only a few scenes were taken from the original fourth Japanese intro.
- In some areas, this intro did not begin at the fourth season starting episode, but much later.
