Lick (Japanese: したでなめる Tongue Lick) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Lick inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target. Lick cannot paralyze a target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
In Generation I
Lick, regardless of any battle conditions, cannot damage a Psychic type Pokémon. This means that there are no moves Super Effective against Psychic type Pokémon.
In Generations II-IV
Lick functions properly, damaging Psychic types for Super Effective damage.
