Goldenrod City (Japanese: ? Kogane City) is located in Johto, and is that region's largest town. It's motto is "The Festive City of Opulent Charm".

The Goldenrod Dept. Store claims to have a full selection of Pokémon Goods and is six stories tall.

There's also a Goldenrod City Game Corner feauturing slot machines and interesting prizes.

A Radio Tower in the city transmits Professor Oak's and DJ Mary's radio shows to PokéGear throughout Johto.

Saffron City is connected to Goldenrod City via a Train Station.

An underground path runs from the southern side of the city to the north. A pair of groomers in the tunnel will groom Pokémon to make them more happy.

This town is also the home of Bill's family.

A Bike Shop, a Name Rater, a Flower Shop, and a woman who rates the Happiness of Pokémon in the town.

Whitney is the Goldenrod Gym Leader and uses Normal-type Pokémon.

Goldenrod City extends into Route 34 in the south, and Route 35 in the north.
