Game Corner
A Game Corner (Japanese: ゲームコーナー Game Corner) is a building in the Pokémon world where minigames can be played, often for Coins, which can be exchanged for prizes, including rare items, TMs, and even Pokémon. Coins cannot be obtained until the player has a Coin Case in their Bag.
With one exception, all core series games since Pokémon Black and White have not featured a Game Corner, likely due to the controversy surrounding its gambling elements. In remakes of games where a Game Corner was available, the building may be either closed or replaced. In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, the Game Corner is present, though the slot machines have been replaced with traditional arcade machines, and the machines are not playable.
Game Corners can be found in the following regions:
- The Celadon Game Corner in Kanto, located in Celadon City; known as the Rocket Game Corner in Generations I, III, and VII.
- The Joyful Game Corner in the Sevii Islands of Kanto, located in the town of Two Island.
- The Goldenrod Game Corner in Johto, located in Goldenrod City.
- The Mauville Game Corner in Hoenn, located in Mauville City; permanently closed as of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
- The Game Corner in Mossdeep City in Hoenn; exclusive to Pokémon Emerald.
- The Veilstone Game Corner in Sinnoh, located in Veilstone City; replaced by the Metronome Style Shop in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
