(Japanese: いにしえのうた Ancient Song) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation V. It is only learned by event Meloetta through a tutor in Castelia City.

Effect

Ancient Song deals damage and has a 10% chance of putting the target to sleep. Ancient Song hits all opponents in double battles and hits all adjacent opponents in triple battles.

When used by Meloetta in battle, it will also cause it to change between its Voice and Step Formes.

In Pokémon Black and White, a man in Castelia City's cafe will teach an event Meloetta the move.

Trivia

• Ancient Song is the only move that deals damage and can put the target to sleep, regardless of battle location.
  • Secret Power can also do damage and put the opponent to sleep, but only when used in very long grass^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.} or tall grass^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.}.
• Ancient Song is the only move that changes the user's form when used.
  • However a Cherrim in its overcast form using {m|Sunny Day}} in battle would change it to its sunshine form.
