Trivia
- Even though it is said to create fangs or tusks of ice for fighting, Beartic is unable to learn Ice Fang.
- Beartic is the one of only two non-Water Pokémon that is not legendary to be able to learn Dive, the other being Dragonite. This is most likely to reflect the fact that it is based on a polar bear.
Origin
Beartic is based on the polar bear, a species of bear found primarily in the Arctic Circle.
Name origin
Beartic is a mix of bear and arctic.
Tsunbear's name may derive from the 氷柱 tsurara (icicle), ツンドラ (tundra), and bear.
