A Repel (Japanese: スプレー Spray) is an item which lets the player walk a certain number of steps without encountering wild Pokémon with a lower level than the first member in the player's party. It is manufactured by Silph Co., and is sold in most Poké Marts. Its design is that of an aerosol spray and is similar to insect repellent. It is available in three strengths.
In Black 2 and White 2, a dialog pops up after a Repel runs out, asking if the player wants to use another one.
If traded into Pokémon Colosseum or XD, although wild Pokémon do not appear except in Poké Spots, Repels still have the "use" option. If the player attempts to use one, the message "This item cannot be used in the Orre Region" will be displayed instead.
Repels can be used to only encounter certain wild Pokémon using a method known as the Repel trick.

Trivia
- The Super Repel is more cost-effective than the Max Repel (the Super Repel gives one step per $2.5 while the Max Repel gives one step per $2.8). However, when buying Max Repels in bulk from a Join Avenue market, they can be cheaper than the same amount of Super Repels at a Poké Mart.
