Max Guard (Japanese: ダイウォール Dai Wall) is a non-damaging Normal-type Max Move introduced in Generation VIII.
Effect
Max Guard protects the user from moves for the rest of the turn. Unlike other protection moves, it fully protects the user from Max Moves.
Successfully consecutively using any single-target protection moves, Wide Guard, Quick Guard, or Endure decreases the chance of success of single-target protection moves and Endure.
Unlike most protection moves, Max Guard protects the user from Block, Flower Shield, Gear Up, Magnetic Flux, Phantom Force, Psych Up, Shadow Force, Teatime, Transform, and any contact move affected by Unseen Fist.
Max Guard does not protect the user against Feint, but its effects remain even after being hit by Feint. It does not protect the user from Mean Look, Role Play, Perish Song, Decorate, G-Max One Blow, or G-Max Rapid Flow.
