Pokémon: Twilight Wings—The Gathering of Stars (Japanese: 「薄明の翼」 EXPANSION ~星の祭~ Twilight Wings Expansion: Festival of Stars) is a special episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings to commemorate the release of The Crown Tundra of the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass. It was first released on The Pokémon Company's official Japanese YouTube channel on November 5, 2020 and was released on The Pokémon Company International's official English YouTube channel and Pokémon TV on November 17, 2020.
Plot
Soring through the sky in a Flying Taxi, the driver notes how the wind feels great. He informs his passenger, Leon, that they are arriving soon, addressing him as Champion. Leon corrects him saying that he is the former Champion now, having been defeated.
On the Isle of Armor, the forests and coast are teeming with life: Galarian Slowpoke is seen relaxing on a beach with a Wailord out on the ocean. Avery is insistent on a rematch and forcibly levitates his opponent to stop him escaping. Klara, meanwhile, is foraging for mushrooms and is startled by what is actually an Amoonguss. Outside the Master Dojo, Honey is sweeping outside with a Squirtle and Bulbasaur helping her out before noticing someone has come to visit. It turns out to be Leon, and Mustard greets him saying that it has been a while since he last visited. Leon agrees, greeting his master.
A loud explosion stops everyone in their tracks, though it is revealed to be a heated battle between Leon's Charizard and Mustard's Mienshao. Before Charizard can unleash its follow-up attack, Mustard ends the match. Leon is impressed by his master's strength while Mustard remarks that Leon has grown stronger. Leon, however, replies that he still has much to learn. Mustard says that having a strong rival will help him become stronger and reach new heights which he looks forward to battling all out. Leon takes out an envelope and chuckles, noting that his master already knew his plans. Unbeknownst to the pair, a Kubfu has been watching them. Mustard asks what does Leon plans to do next. Leon explains that he is off to visit some strong Trainers, and then flies off to send out the invitation letters.
Those who receive invitations include: Milo, Kabu, Nessa, Bea, Allister, Gordie, Melony, Bede as he performs for Opal who admits it has been some years, Marnie cheering her brother, and Piers sitting on the stage with the Maximizers. Meanwhile, Sonia looks through documents for her research when Hop comes back to enquire about his report, Professor Magnolia playing with Sonia's Yamper, Raihan asking to himself if a certain someone would be there too. The Flying Taxi is seen leaving Hammerlocke when the driver asks Leon where they are heading off to next, Leon chuckles before reaching for his pockets.
On a train traveling towards the Crown Tundra, a person wakes up to a phone call from Leon while seeing Peony chasing after his daughter Peonia. A Galarian Moltres flies over the sky, a Galarian Zapdos running through the snowy fields, and a Galarian Articuno is hovering in the sky.
Various people and Pokémon are gathered outside Wyndon Stadium enjoying the festivities. Setting the tone for an impressive night of battling ahead, Cinderace juggles and kicks a ball of fireworks into the sky. Spectators in the stadium watch the fireworks happily while Sordward and Shielbert look on from the viewing box. The spotlight then shines on Leon who gives his speech, saying that brave challengers from all of Galar have gathered tonight and he has spent his whole life battling himself in order to become the greatest Trainer. Throughout his battles, he realized that with a proper rival to battle with, one can go much further and get stronger. After taking over the running of the Pokémon League from Chairman Rose, he wants to bring even more thrilling battles to the wonderful Galar region. The Gym Leaders of Galar, Hop, Mustard, and Peony step out onto the field before Leon declares the Galarian Star Tournament open. An unknown person then walks in with Leon inviting them to have more amazing battles, leading the crowd to erupt into cheers and applause.
