In the manga
Pokémon Adventures
Team Yell Grunts made their debut appearance in Zap!! A Rising Beam of Light. Two Grunts attacked Henry and Casey at the Wild Area in an attempt to destroy their Gym Challenge uniforms. Henry and Casey pushed the Grunts into a nearby Pokémon Den, forcing the four to team up in a Max Raid Battle against the wild Gurdurr that lurked inside. Though the Gurdurr was eventually defeated and caught by Henry, the Grunts' Pokémon were knocked out during the battle, forcing them to flee. The two Grunts appeared again in Blinding!! The End of the Battle, this time to cheer for Marnie. In Chomp!! It's Dracovish, the two Grunts were with Marnie to provide an alibi for Casey, where they explained that they headed to Glimwood Tangle to punish Allister for his absence.
In Grrr!! Noble Kidnappers, Henry mentioned that he helped a Doctor who was in trouble with a pair of Team Yell Grunts.
Pokémon
This Galarian Linoone was used to try and destroy Henry's and Casey's Gym Challenge uniforms. Later, it was forced to fight a Dynamax Gurdurr, but was defeated in a single hit.
Linoone's only known move is Sucker Punch* and its Ability is Quick Feet.
In the TCG
- Main article: Team Yell Grunt (Sword & Shield 184)
Team Yell Grunt was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era). It was first released in the Japanese V Starter Set Water. It later appeared in the Japanese Shield expansion before debuting in English in the Sword & Shield expansion, with artwork by nagimiso. It was also released as a Full Art card and Secret card in the same Japanese and English expansions, with artwork by the same artist. It allows the player to return an Energy card attached to one of their opponent's Pokémon to their hand.
Trivia
- The logo of Spikemuth Chamber of Commerce can be seen on the Team Yell Grunt uniforms. Interestingly, there is only one single Poké Job from Spikemuth Chamber of Commerce in the game, yet the Job in question, along with the logo, can be seen on a pre-release Poké Jobs screenshot.
- The Team Yell Grunt that trades a Kantonian Mr. Mime for a Obstagoon is named Edmund while another one who fights the player without his disguise in Spikemuth is named Joshua. This makes them some of the very few villainous team grunts in the franchise to have confirmed names.
