Origin
Chatot is apparently based on a parrot. Its head looks like an eighth note, and its tail resembles a metronome. Additionally, its white neck feathers resemble a collar.
Name origin
Chatot's name comes from chat and parrot. Chatot's Japanese name comes from the words parrot and rap. The name could also come from the Japanese word ぺらぺら perapera, which can mean "fluent in languages" or the sound of chattering, and is also similar to "blablabla", referring to the fact that real world parrots can learn to speak human languages, and sometimes talk too much.
