Elekid (Japanese: エレキッド Elekid) is an Electric-type Pokémon. It evolves into Electabuzz.
Elekid comes with the ability Static, which has a 30% chance of paralyzing the opponent on contact.
Biology
Physiology
Elekid is a yellow, round-bodied Pokémon. Elekid is lacking in both a tail and toes. Elekid's arms are bulkier than those of its evolved form. Elekid has two horns on top of its head that are shaped like the prongs of a plug, making it look like a walking power plug.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Elekid is able to know attacks which its evolution, Electabuzz, can learn. The only exception is that Elekid's attacks are much weaker and Elekid is unable to learn Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.
Behavior
Elekid tend to play out in the middle of thunderstorms.
Habitat
Elekid normally live in Powerplants.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
Elekid mainly feed off of electrical currents.
In the anime
Elekid first appeared in Pikachu's Rescue Adventure. The little Electric Pokémon decided to assist Pikachu and co. in finding Togepi. Elekid even stood by Pikachu's side when the Electric Mouse was trying to prevent lightening from striking the Giant Tree.
Tracey showed off a sketch he made of an Elekid that was partially hidden in a bush.
Casey captured an Elekid in Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid. It is one of her favorite Pokémon and was seen with her in A Date With Delcatty and Those Darn Electabuzz.
In Reversing the Charges, an Elekid had absorbed a high amount of lightning and was electrifying every other Pokémon in sight. The AC Powerplug Pokémon calmed down and returned to its good old self after battling Ash's Pikachu.
Paul owns an Elekid. He used it to battle to battle Ash's Pikachu in Two Degrees of Separation and Roark in Shapes of Things to Come. Paul's Elekid evolved into Electabuzz in Smells Like Team Spirit.
In the manga
Pokémon Special
Team Rocket is seen with an Elekid in Template:PSV, though it easily loses to Silver's newly obtained Totodile.
