Slakoth (Japanese: ナマケロ Namakero) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves into Vigoroth starting at level 18, who evolves into Slaking starting at level 36.
Biology
Physiology
Slakoth are brown mammalian Pokémon with shaggy coarse fur and brown stripes on its back. It has long arms with sharp claws which it uses to hang from trees. It is extremely slow. It resembles a sloth.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Slakoth's heartbeat is unique as it only beats once a minute, and it can sleep for 20+ hours a day. Slakoth also has the unique ability of making those whom see it Template:M2.
Behavior
Slakoth will spend its whole life in the same tree. However, Slakoth are known for being good swimmers, traveling far during floods to reach a new tree. A potential predator will often find that Slakoth isn't as easy to catch as they may think. If it senses danger, Slakoth will dig into its branch with its sharp claws and lock its muscles into place, making it almost impossible to pry off, even for the strongest carnivores.
Habitat
Slakoth are often found living in forests.
Diet

Slakoth's daily diet usually consists of all of three leaves.
In the anime
Norman's Slakoth appeared in Love, Petalburg Style and also in Balance of Power where it battled Ash's Pikachu and Ash's Torkoal. It proved to be a strong battler against Pikachu with its powerful Blizzard attack but it lost to Torkoal.
In The Garden of Eatin', there were many Slakoth who lived in the Slakoth Banana Garden. A Snorlax was eating all the bananas in the garden and no one was able to stop it untill one of the Slakoths in the garden evolved into Vigoroth and defeated it.
A Slakoth appeared in Camping It Up!.

Origin
It appears to have been based on sloths.
Name origin
Slakoth's name is a combination of slack, meaning to be lazy, and sloth. Its Japanese name is based on 樹懶 namakemono, sloth. It is also a play on the slang phrase "to slack off".
