Heatran (Japanese: ヒードラン Heatran) is a dual-type Fire/Steel legendary Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Legend has it that Heatran was born from the flames of a volcano when Dialga, Palkia, and their relatives first created the universe. The lava from it pooled together to become Heatran.

Trivia
Origin
Heatran could be based on a mythical salamander, a giant lizard of folklore made completely of lava and fire.
Name origin
Its name comes from the words heat and possibly transfer. The "doran" in its Japanese name can also be read as "dran", so it may be a combination of "heat" and "dragon".
