Power Play (Japanese: ブラッキー!やみよのたたかい!! Blacky! The Battle During a Dark Night) is episode 171 of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on November 2, 2000 and in the United States on October 20, 2001.
Ash is annoyed when Gary does not see him as a worthy opponent but that is put aside when Team Rocket cause a blackout with their new mecha that sends back any attack at twice the power.
