== Question about Linking ==
I come straight from Wikipedia, and my goal here was to fill in all the incomplete summaries for the anime series. Since I came from Wikipedia, I have a large understanding of WikiTemplates, and I was used to the <nowiki>[[LINK|TEXT]]</nowiki> format of linking, which you have here, but after about five summaries, I was contacted by a patroller who told me I was doing my links wrong and I had to put them in <nowiki>{{p|pikachu}}</nowiki> format or something like that. He said it was easier to do, but since I was used to the LINK/TEXT format, I assumed his comment was optional suggestion. I wrote another summary and continued LINK/TEXT format, and once again, he commented me, but this time he told me that is was policy to put links in this special template, even though it redirects to the same page.
Naturally, I was a little annoyed. I shouldn't have to learn a new template even though my habits create the same outcome. I would like to know if it is actually ''policy'' to put it in this template even though it does the same thing as my habits. If so, is it against any rules to just ''not'' web my pages together?
Thanks, | |||

Okie
Okie. But that does not mean that we can't have the owners listed in the Pokemon SP page. Also, the list of Pokemon SP by Owner has to be updated as it lacks many cards. It's gonna take some time. --Maxim 15:23, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Pages for deletion
I was just bringing promo cards etc. up to date and check other lists when I noticed that the Pokémon SP article has been updated to include the owner's names. I was about to update the List of Pokémon SP by Owner article, but this seems unecessary to keep now. Other articles not needed are the individual half deck pages that cover those already in the Trainer Kits (Latias/Latios, Plusle/Minun and Lucario/Manaphy half decks). All relevant info is in the Trainer Kit articles, plus more concise card lists. ~~nuva-kal 12:15, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Please !!! HElp Me
Hi Maverick, i need your help. Actually i used to upload new pictures (with high/better quality) for old articles of bulbapedia such as EP099. Yesterday, i uploaded a new image for EP099 article. That image was the screenshot from the deleted scene of EP099. I uploaded it because the previous image on the deleted scene section of the article was in low and poor quality. My new image was totally fine with nice quality and was 100% suitable for that section of the article. A user named J-J-M deleted my pic and said that it is not the part of deleted scene. I don't no what's wrong with him, i saw that episode again and it was the part of it (deleted scene) along with that he also deleted that pic and i can't undo now. Please help me and suggest whether i re-upload the image or anything else. I am really working hard in finding new images and he don't have any right to spoil my hard work. I am sorry if i bothered you but please tell me what should i do now. Thank you. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 05:52, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
On the archieves? i am talking about EP099 article on bulbapedia not bulba archieves. I think he (J-J-M) deleted the pic from bulba archieves too. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'd be surprised to hear that J-J-M has power on the Archives. I'll take a look, though.--RexRacer 06:32, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Issue fixed. You marked your upload with {{delete}} instead of the old pic. Your upload didn't show, because an admin deleted it because of the template. J-J-M was just reverting, because of the unshowing image. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 06:32, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
What??? Really but i marked the old one to delete. Anyway, i am sorry for the trouble and thanks for helping me. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:39, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

What are you talking about? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 05:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I once said at my website [1] that due to my parents, I wasn't allowed on communities. But when they meant 'communities' they actually meant 'FORUMS' or 'CHATROOMS'. When they saw that BulbaPedia was a Wikia, they said I can register, since it is not a forum or chatroom. Something VERY NASTY happened on a forum years ago as somebody asked for personal information... I alerted an Admin(who banned the guy) and my parents, who told me to immediatly leave the forum and never coming back. The forum was deleted but re-uploaded. ALL messages and users have been deleted, so I was happy with that.

- I haven't thought about what the style or wording should be, and i like to avoid putting non style things on pages. That is so other users don't see it, assume it is style, and start putting it on other pages, causing a ton of pages to have incorrect styles. MaverickNate 00:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

- I don't want people to see an unapproved wording, assume that it actually is what we want, and start adding that wording to pages. It is so that we don't have to end up fixing a ton of pages down the road when i get around to it. MaverickNate 02:14, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Some TCG cards we might need...
Here. I've searched for articles on those, and I can't seem to find them. I have on good sources that the cards do, in fact, exist, but only a few sets were produced. If we could get someone translating those, that would be great. Any ideas? --ニョロトノ666 20:56, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Check out Illustration contests#CoroCoro Pokémon Snap Contest. We've already got articles on those, because they were all reprints in Spring of 1999 in the Unnumbered Promotional cards. We've also got images of all of them too. Also, smpratte is a user here who I have been helping trying to figure out how to upload images, which, for some reason, hasn't been working for him. He has all the remaining promo cards we need, and also all the images we need bigger, better scans of. MaverickNate 21:12, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

If you haven't already got rid of them, feel free to do so. Sorry if this is too late of a reply. :P --Moisesmorales δ 08:36, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks to the Pokégym Research Tower, I was able to find enough scans to complete the Supreme Victors set list beyond almost any shadow of a doubt. The only scan they're currently missing is retro Zapdos, which can easily be placed in the list. --Shiningpikablu252 15:29, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

- I'm quite surprised. And extremely disappointed it had to resort to that. I had a notice full of quotations and research and all sorts of things; and then I got a new messages in the preview. And then an edit conflict with a new message I have a hard time believing. Just to make sure, this talk page edit will be linked in the top box. Remember, I'm always watching the cards. MaverickNate 04:59, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Unsatisfactory, WHY ??????
Hey nate, can you please tell me why my new uploaded pictures are in unsatisfactory. I don't think there is any problem in them. Yesterday i uploaded two images Mariah (Johto) & Trixie and both are in nice quality and there was no any reason given in unsatisfactory tag. Please check those images and tell me if there is any problem. This is my kind request. Why J-J-M put that unsatisfactory tag on those images? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:10, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Both of them are too small and jpeg. But J-J-M still needs to learn to explain himself... --ケンジのガール 06:31, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh. I will re-upload them in png but sorry kenji i don't have those images in large size. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:36, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Giratina
Why'd you revert my edit on Reverse World's Giratina? I honestly think that Trivia is interesting, because on the card Will-O-Wisp is more powerful than Shadow Force... yet in the games, it's vice-versa. --CuboneKing 03:26, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

LEGEND Cards
How do you want to handle how these cards are presented, considering one is essentially entirely artwork, and the other is the one with the attacks? I've also contacted Card Collector with some requests, so I'll upload any images I get off them. ~~nuva-kal 18:42, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- I wanted to have the second number redirect to the first number, and put them both onto the same page. But currently, I'm lost on other ideas. If you suggest anything,or make any of the pages, I'll look at whatever yu do and see if it works the best possible way. Currently, putting class=Legend will add the Legend in the image name. MaverickNate 18:45, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think that is probably the best approach, as all of the relevant info will be on one page. When it comes to numbering in the infobox, both numbers could be added with comments in brackets - like in holo and non-holo ptints in th e-card sets. For example, 015/070 (Upper portion) and 016/070 (Lower portion), or something along those lines. As for the cards themselves, I am in love with the artwork but iffy with the text displacement. ~~nuva-kal 19:24, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- What should we do about the Great Pokémon cards? I want your ideas on it. Also, what images were you able to get? MaverickNate 21:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, been a bit busy recently, although everyhting seems to have been done anyway. Still haven't got any reply from the seller; he must be a busy guy, since every request in the past has taken a while. I have been compiling info as to improve the illustrator articles, as some quite frankly, deserve it. I was wondering if there was a need to include a list of illustrated cards for each of them since there is a category for them anyway. I know with illustrators where the is nothing on them may seem extremely bare, but it gets extremely clustered for some of the ones I am working on, as they have done many cards and have other credits.
- I have also been trying to dig up info on older promo cards where I can, since someone on PokéGym rather loosely commented that our info on them is "shallow at best". Kinda hard considering most of these cards were snapped up before the majority of people had a decent internet connection to help spread the word. ~~nuva-kal 16:21, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I know exactly what you are talking about with that person on PokéGym (I actually think i instigated the comment). Also, go right ahead on improving the illustrator pages! It has been on my to do list to improve them, because I too hated the list of cards. I already tried to improve some of them: Suwama Chiaki, Etsuya Hattori, Asuka Iwashita, Sayuri Ichiishi; but because of how little is known on these people, it is tough work for one person to do. Feel free to improve whatever you want, because they need it. I'm just glad I was able to fix the list.
- Also, I was going to ask you to try to get the release information sections up for any promo cards without it...I just didn't do it yet. o_o; MaverickNate 22:40, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

"In need of Japanese Names"
I bring up the card Pokémon Machine. I'm not sure what you need on it, since there is no Japanese name, nor a name to translate (seeing how the name of the card was taken from the only English text on the card). Seeing how it's the only card in these categories (that I've been clearing out), I thought I'd ask you what to do about it. -Mefredbob 11:01, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
P.S. For the "Top 4 Trainers" card (which isn't really called that), if you find out who came in second place for the Japan's Best tournament in 2002, you'll have the complete title of the card. It's too blurred to read, and I couldn't find reference to the winning participants anywhere... Even on Pokemoncard.com, they only list the First Place winner. -Mefredbob 16:44, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Unreleased Cards/Pokedex
I don't mind doing the translating. I've gone through the ones I actually found. I really wish the ones needing translating were actually listed. "Please provide a translation for this entry" was written on some (which I translated), and made it a ton easier. There should be some standard implemented, so it's easier to find. That being said, I don't mind translating, but I don't really want to go through 700 pages looking. -Mefredbob 03:14, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Sandbox
Why did you delete that template? - SavageWolf 18:33, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- It was one time use only, so it was better coded out in the Sandbox. MaverickNate 18:34, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- It was designed also for personal sandboxes, and {{sandbox}} is easier for new users to understand, especially on a page where they delete stuff they think are unneeded. - SavageWolf 18:38, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- If it was going to be used for Personal sandboxes as well, most of the comments on the template would have been wrong. "Bulbapedia Sandbox" (nope it's a personal one.) "Anyone can use this to test things" (Also false, because personal sandboxes are for that person only.) It really isn't needed, and it only truly applies for that one, hence the subst. We don't need tons of templates that are one time use. That wastes space. MaverickNate 18:41, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, the template had things like {{#ifeq:{{PAGENAME}}|Sandbox|It's the Bulbapedia one|It isn't}}, checking the identity of the page... - SavageWolf 18:45, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hello? - SavageWolf 20:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Nate, I see no problem with this. The problems you pointed out weren't actually problems in the first place. It's a multi-use template, and is essentially
{{talk archive}}
for sandboxes. —darklordtrom 23:37, 12 October 2009 (UTC)- I don't really see a use for it. I still think it is better subst. MaverickNate 00:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

- Nate, I see no problem with this. The problems you pointed out weren't actually problems in the first place. It's a multi-use template, and is essentially
- Hello? - SavageWolf 20:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, the template had things like {{#ifeq:{{PAGENAME}}|Sandbox|It's the Bulbapedia one|It isn't}}, checking the identity of the page... - SavageWolf 18:45, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- It was designed also for personal sandboxes, and {{sandbox}} is easier for new users to understand, especially on a page where they delete stuff they think are unneeded. - SavageWolf 18:38, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Fake Cards
That's fine if there's no need for a Project Fake Card, I'm content with having a fake card related article (or however many there ends up being). I take it you saw the test article I created in my userspace? - Nick15 01:24, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm glad you're okay with it. I did see your future article. I'll put it in my template seen at the top of my page. MaverickNate 01:26, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yah, don't worry, not having a Project Fake Card section isn't going to ruin my day. Although I'd be lying if I said that I won't ask about it again sometime in the future--albeit only after I feel it's gotten large enough to be recognized on its own, and who knows when that'll be. It also sounds like you get a lot of kids who demand that they be allowed to make their own Projects too, only to get upset when you say No. :P
- Another question: At what point would the fake card article be moved to its final location in Bulbapedia proper, or can I just move it there now? Would it also be OK for me to lay the foundation for other fake card-related articles once the main article goes live? Are there any particular guidelines I would follow regarding the creation of new articles? I'll probably just emulate the kinds of articles that already exist. - Nick15 04:56, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Fake Card Category?
Would it be appropriate to instead list the fake card article, as well as other articles relating to fake cards, under a fake card category rather than the TCG category? Perhaps/Obviously the fake card category would be a subcategory under TCG, but I think it might be a general good idea to list them in their own category. However I'm not at all familiar with all of Bulbapedia's rules and guidelines, so I'm not sure if having a fake card category would be appropriate. Whaddya think? - Nick15 22:22, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- If there end up being enough of them, yes. A category would be appropriate. probably something like: Category:Fake TCG? MaverickNate 22:25, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

did you reverse my edit? --Swampertrox (bleh) 01:32, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

New Tasks
Is there anything else, translation-wise you need help with? I'd work on the HG/SS cards, but since the Pokédex entries are the same as the Gold/Silver entries, I have a feeling that the translation will change when the new games are released, making all the edits made now kinda pointless. Mefredbob 06:52, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't have any card translation things to do at the moment. You've finished everything that the TCG needs done. There is, however, the Category:Songs with untranslated lyrics. Maybe you could try your hand at some of those? MaverickNate 18:53, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Special:WantedCategories
Is there a reason why we're leaving all of these TCG categories red...? They've been there for ages now. --electAbuzzzz 17:23, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's a reminder telling me what I still need to do. It also makes it easier for me to visually see a red link at the bottom if I just want to glance and skim over an article instead of read for the certain category. If you notice, most of them are transfered over to the correct titles and update and things. P, T, J, L-P, are all finished, I just haven't done the other three yet. Yes. We talked about it yesterday and decided that epicodes is the one area in Bulbapedia where Japanese is preferred. They're sorta like production codes. If you want a fuller explanation, go on AIM. There is one. --electAbuzzzz 17:21, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

14k Pokemon Cards
It has come to my attention that the TCGdex does not include the six solid gold Kanto pokemon cards. If you have any questions about the existence of these cards leave a comment on my talk page. I happen to have a set of these cards.
Well?
There are these solid gold pokemon cards. They were released during the time that Kanto was still airing. there is just one problem now. They were not given out by Burger King. They were available in stores. When I purchased mine in 1999, I got them from Toy's R Us

I was just saying where I got mine. But their is one difference. Your article said they were in a blue box, mine are in red boxes.

Re: Card scans
I love your card scans. They are extremely fantastic. But, instead of uploading a new file, it is a lot easier to go to the archives page of the image that's already on the card page, and click the "Upload a new version of this file" link. Since all of the images we already have are set up to our standard, it is much easier for everyone if you upload a new version of the file. That way, you don't have to edit the page--it already is linked to from the card page, and all the images are categorized to our liking. If you do do this, however, the Archives might not refresh with your image right when you upload it. Don't fret if it doesn't, and also do not try to upload it again. The image would already be there and upload, just not showing. IU hope you stick around for a while: your scans are extremely cool. MaverickNate 01:27, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- BTW, also categorize by Pokémon names and TCG set. Thanks. ht14 02:23, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi, can we get your opinion real quick?
Can you go to the Pokémon(species) talk page. We need a admins opinion.--Midnight Blue 03:33, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
So yes
Regarding this, should we add every move in the TCG? It would probably make the page a third to a half longer than what it is right now. R.A. Hunter Blade 18:34, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think what we wanted for that page was to only put each move once. So, Call for familk would only be classified the first time it appeared. But, yes, the point was to add every single one. The way you can do that is search the Japanese name to see if it is an actual move, because sometimes the translations are off. The Hula-la's Japanese name is that of Teeter Dance, so it shouldn't go on that page. Are you planning on doing that for the page? MaverickNate 19:59, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Eh, I was thinking more or along the lines of either looking at the TCG pages here on the Pedia or look at my own 900 or so cards to see what moves we have and don't have. I've been meaning to ask for a while anyways, but I was looking at the Houndoom moves, and I noticed that a lot of the moves that they have aren't on the page, such as for this Houndoom (not even Fireworks is listed, even though there are a number of cards I can think of that have it). The only reason I was looking at Houndoom is because I have the Great Encounters Houndoom, and his are the only moves listed. R.A. Hunter Blade 21:34, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
A¬ G=
Hello, I created the page A ¬ G recently and you deleted the page with the comment 'didn't we delete this once?' but the only glitch pokemon page I've made on bulbapedia before that was O (glitch pokemon). I made A¬ G and it did not give me any message implying that the page ever existed. I wouldn't dream of recreating a page previously deleted though.
Also if you have time I was told before that O was deleted because it was a glitch pokemon that could only be encountered by gameshark but at that time I presumed it was acceptable because other pokemon even ones such as B oE AN existed on the wiki which required codes such as 'Steal other trainers pokemon' but O was just a normal encounter code. Can you explain a little more about this rule so I don't make the same mistake; and please give a little information to why it A¬G was deleted if it was deleted in the past thanks. Sorry for any troubles --Chickasaurus 18:49, 25 November 2009 (UTC) 18:49 25 November 2009 GMT
As requested
Here's the text of the card you requested~
- Attack: ざんぞうぎり (lit. "Afterimage Cut"/"Afterimage Slash"... something along those lines :P)
- Effect: When this Pokemon takes damage on the opponent's next turn, flip a coin once. If heads, this Pokemon does not take the damage.

I will have a Hi-Res scanner to re-scan my cards!
I wanted to tell you that I was told my scans were too dark/eye hurting and I could not upload scans unless I get a new scanner. Well, I will have a new scanner to scan my cards. I will receive it at December 10, but might not get installed until December 12. I used the 'Try before Buy' option so I could see what resolution my cards would appear in the scanner. You can compare my Altomare's Latias and Altomare's Latios on my current scanner(scans on the left) and the one I tried and will receive(scans on the right)
Is this convenient for the TCGDex? I am going to re-scan ALL my cards, so if there is a missing card scan, whatever if I have it in English, French, German or even Japanese, I will upload it here with HD colors and the BEST resolutions. So from December 12, I will re-scan my card and overwrite my old scans(like those 5, 6, 7, 8, 9th Movie Half Decks and 11th Movie Special cards scans that were too dark/eye hurting)
I hope those changes will help BulbaPedia ;)

Color group userboxes
Unfortunately, I'm no expert on these userboxes, so I will need some help to create a single userbox for all color groups. Note that we have separate userboxes for favorite color, i.e. Template:User Likes Red, Template:User Likes Blue, etc. For now, I think having separate userboxes for the Pokémon color groups is sufficient, until at least we can make a general color group userbox. - I discussed it with a couple other over aim. Since the Japanese names are different, and the sprites are not based on the same people, they can't properly be merged over the same page, since they aren't the same thing. MaverickNate 19:15, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Bulbanews' {{Rumor}}
I'm not sure who to talk to over this, but... In the template, shouldn't it say "contains some information that HAS not been confirmed as true", as opposed to the current "contains some information that HAVE not been confirmed as true"?

Right on the page: it says its a part of a coding. It's also a Code template. We use a lot around here to seperate the stub notice and the project notice, among other things.--Smartkidhen 17:38, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Just because it is a code template does not mean we have to use it. The page looks better, in my opinion, without a ton of breaks separating everything. Question about Linking
I come straight from Wikipedia, and my goal here was to fill in all the incomplete summaries for the anime series. Since I came from Wikipedia, I have a large understanding of WikiTemplates, and I was used to the [[LINK|TEXT]] format of linking, which you have here, but after about five summaries, I was contacted by a patroller who told me I was doing my links wrong and I had to put them in {{p|pikachu}} format or something like that.
I would like to know if it is actually policy to put it in this template even though it does the same thing as my habits. If so, is it against any rules to just not web my pages together?
Thanks, SinnohFan 02:23, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
