So is this truly MD3, as a sequel to MD2, or is it MD2.5, as a third version to EOT and EOD? TTEchidna 06:58, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Officially PMD3, it's the sequel (or third version, I suppose) to PMD2, carrying the story on where PMD2 left it. Cipher (Talk) 09:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't think we can be sure exactly what this game is yet. Dogasu's already calling it the Platinum to MD2. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 16:02, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Unown Lord said the official website also said the same thing. It's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 with new quests and starter Pokémon, but it retains all of the plot, content, and things from Time and Darkness. Considering that, we should probably move this page to something that doesn't say Mystery Dungeon 3. --Zeta 19:08, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Agree. This should be the third version of PMD2. Since its plot is the same.-Billy4b2004 14:24, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
OBJECTION! Clearly, this contradicts that fact that the plot is, in fact, NOT the same. *taps papers* If you recall, Herr Billy, Grovyle and Dusknoir were seen SURROUNDED BE SABLEYE! That is not in the plot of the original PMD2 games! *plays Pursuit - Cornered (Orchestra)* This is a clear contradiction in the witness testimony! Obviously, this game is a direct sequel to the other two PMD2 games! ΘρtιmαtumTalk 15:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Even with a modified plot/story, it isn't to be understood as a third installment of the Dungeon series - it's still just a third part of PMD2. o.o I'm for moving it to something that doesn't contain "Dungeon 3" as well. --nYoo 23:37, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Seriously, this can't stay "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3". It's not a third installment of the series, it's a third version of the second installment. Regardless of whether it would be "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" or something else, it can't stay "Dungeon 3". Though I really don't see a problem with "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" since, the movie articles have translated titles as well and a redirect would exist for those who try to find "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3". o.o --nYoo 03:36, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing you haven't read the other conversations. The page is protected, and we can't do anything about the title or even update the information on the page. R.A. Hunter B. 18:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
You're right, I didn't notice the other discussion. Sorry. Kinda strange to have two of them on one talk page. o.o The fact that the page is protected isn't relevant though. It's better than having people moving it back and froth all the time. --nYoo 03:33, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I unprotected it and moved it back to it's correct name. I also corrected the names of the pages for the other games in the series, since NONE of them have sequential numbers in their name. --Zeta 05:31, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
BUT WAIT! The story is changed only a little guys! The only thing different is the bonus stuff added. I PLAYED THE GAME! I'm playing it now (not really at this moment) and so far only a few then were different.
    1. 1. New Pokémon for game players.
    2. 2. Spinda's Café (and Recycle shop).
    3. 3.Secret Bazaar in dungeons.
    4. 4. Shaymin Village.
    5. 5. Sky Jukebox.

!!SPOILER!! Here is the part where Optimatum|Talk]] was wrong. I will use this sneack peak spoiler of the episode only to prove my point. The part where Sybleye are surrounding Dusknoir and Grovyle is in an EPISODE. Episodes are played in other characters other then you and your partner. Some examples are Sunflora, Bidoof, and yes, Grovyle.

In Grovyle's episode, after pushing Dusknoir and himself in the time portal, the two wake in an a clearing back in the future. Grovyle wakes first to wonder why he hadn't vanished yet. He figured you and your partner needed more time.

A Sableye comes along on scout, and is astonished to see them there, then runs away, probably to tell the others.

Dusknoir wakes up and tries to attack Grovyle, but can't. He then asks Grovyle what his plan was. So he said his plan was to go to Primal Dialga and defeat him. Dusknoir tells him he can't make it with injuries like that. Grovyle says he has to at least try. He then goes off on his own. Dusknoir decides to follow.

After the dungeon is cleared, they meet up again, and are surrounded by sable. Dusknoir comands them to attack. The Sableye then attack Grovyle and Dusknoir. Dudknoir is atonished, but has no choce but to team up with Grovyle to batttle for their lives.

Later, after the battle Dusknour askes Grovye why he was attacked by Sabele. Grovyle said it was because he had failed at eliminating you and your parner. He couldn't let him self believe it. He then asked if he could join him. He says to Grovyle (who is suspicious) that he did not have a plan to attack he or anything. He just wanted to know why he was being attacked. Grovyle only lets him join because he needs all the help he can get. !!THIS IS ALL I WILL PUT TO AVOID AS MUCH SPOILING AS POSSIBLE!! See? Don't assume things about the game until you've playrf it! Why are people being so dumb?! (sorry you might not have known...)~Spotman234~ 01:10, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

He posted that before the game's release... so of course he assumed that because he couldn't play it. ▫▪Ťïňắ 01:19, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Starter

I don't get this line : "Every starter Pokémon from the previous games can now be a partner as well, bringing the total of starting Pokémon to 21, only 19 of which are available to the player, since Meowth and Munchlax can only be selected as partners." What does it mean? You can't pick Munchlax and Meowth as the playing character? - unsigned comment from Happizelpom (talkcontribs) 23:57, 20 January 2009

Nope. Check the starter Pokémon page. - espeonA 00:00, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Riolu!

OK, I swear I put up a line on pic. 1 saying Riolu was the leader of the squad. If the deleter responds, if you remember this, could you please recall exactly what the f***ing h*** I said? Giratina's Embodiment 03:38, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Watch the language, please. It's in the page history, you can go and look yourself. — THE TROM — 04:14, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry. Anyways, if you're the deleter, why is it deleted? - unsigned comment from Giratina's Embodiment (talkcontribs) 20:40, 24 January 2009
Check the page history to see for yourself who deleted it and why it was deleted. eA 20:42, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I did the deletion. I deleted it since I see no need for it to be mentioned, what the caption says is already enough. If I recall, you said that "Riolu seems to be a leader in this squad, seen holding a Rescue Badge" and the word "seems" don't belong in any article on the mainspace. --☆Kevzo8 02:07, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Game Site Updated

Pokémon.co.jp was just updated with [1], showing a bunch of story information and other general info. Ryuartyi 03:57, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

It shows that a Skymin will be involved in the story. *tc26* 09:23, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Plus there's a story that happened in the past, where Wigglytuff as an Igglybuff is involved. --×Kevzo8 09:30, 14 February 2009

You have the Japanese site for the gameposted here, but I found the English site. I think it will be of more help for information.

REAL FREAKIN' TITLE

THE REAL TITLE OF THE GAME IS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (and it's not the "third series", it's actually the third version of Darkness/Time!) Can someone with powers move the article? --Maxim 11:09, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

This is quiet true. We need an admin to change the title.--Clarky13 12:30, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
I agree with the witness's statement. I see no "san" in the title. It is a third version, for sure. I demand that an admin move it to the correct title, or else be placed in contempt of court. ΘρtιmαtumTalk 12:33, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. Besides, they're EXACTLY THE SAME except for the side-quests and starters. Someone needs to put sidequest info in! If this is a sequel to PMD2, (which it isn't) then Emerald must be a sequel to Ruby/Sapphire! TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 18:18, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
But they didn't move Pokémon Mystery Dungeon into Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 into Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. ×Kevzo8 04:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Which leaves us with a quandry. What do we call this page? 3 doesn't fit, as it's not a sequel to 2. Explorers of Sky doesn't fit, as that's not analogous to the other pages. Ideas? --((Marton imos)) 01:26, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
What about Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2.5? 0° 01:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
That rankles me, personally. I hate calling anything "n.5" unless it's referred to as such officially. Another idea would be to move the other pages to more standard titles, but then that begs the question as to why they're not at those titles in the first place... --((Marton imos)) 01:36, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Merge to MD2 and make special mention of the third version? Treat it like r/b/y, r/s/e, etc.? (Although that still has the analogousness issue) The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 01:39, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, just treat it like a third version to the first two, like Emerald is to Ruby and Sapphire. It's not exactly a sequel, since it has the same storyline, just extended. Though that doesn't really work out the title issue... ~ overgrownsol 02:05, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
We should stick to official titles instead of numbers, IMO. It's like referring to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past as "The Legend of Zelda 3"; it sort of is, sequentially, but not officially. If we don't want to have an awfully long name ("Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness", like Wikipedia does it), I'd think we should just simplify it like this: "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness". Same would apply to PMD1. Memo326 02:27, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
It's been moved to "Explorers of Time and Darkness" before, but it was disagreed upon because it's not one game, but two separate games, and since Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness is too long... ~ overgrownsol 02:29, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Too long as in, MediaWiki can't handle titles of that length? Or too long as in, people thought it looked too long? --((Marton imos)) 03:26, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
It's too long to type in the Search bar. Trust me, there have been users with a 100+ character subpage before.ΘρtιmαtumTalk 11:47, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
That's the use of redirects. (But I don't support the title change.) --×Kevzo8 11:55, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Kevzo8.--Clarky13 12:48, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
I support Pocket Monsters Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of the Sky. ΘρtιmαtumTalk 13:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
I don't care what you all decide it should be called, the whole thing needs to be updated. I mean, heck, even Wikipedia has it updated right for once. R.A. Hunter B. 02:29, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I've been not very active for a while and am not sure about this. How exactly do we come to an agreement for a title? I mean, I could do a move to "Pocket Monsters Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of the Sky", but that makes no sense as long as others disagree, especially other sysops. o.o" If this is relevant to the Time/Darkness article title as well, maybe someone from the Editorial Board should join the discussion? --nYoo 03:33, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm against a merge because that's not how we treat the main-series games. But nYoo's idea has some merit. We should stick {{search}} tags at the top of each page, but I think it'd work. --((Marton imos)) 23:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Really, MD2 should be at Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness like the Gen III main games are at Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Versions, and MD1 at Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. TTEchidna 07:12, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

As the one who started this page I named this after the pattern of the other articles. Also I wasn't aware this would be an extension of the second games' story. If I still could, I'd move it to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. ~Toastypk - Loom. 04:31, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Sunday title.

Copied from Filb: In der heutigen Folge 226 der wöchentlichen japanischen TV-Sendung wurde erstmals der neue Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-Titel ポケモン不思議のダンジョン 空の探検隊 Pokémon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai, über den wir gestern ausführlich berichteten, erstmals live angespielt.

For those who don't understand German, it basically says, minus some unessecary talking: In EP 226 (Of Pokémon Sunday) a new title ポケモン不思議のダンジョン 空の探検隊 Pokémon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai, which we (Filb) reported yesterday, was referenced.

Understanding no Japanese, I ask if the title differs from the one we currently have. Sunday also apparently talked about some gameplay elements, and debuted Arceus on TV, but given that the release date is still a while yet, they could still be beta. Aura-Knight 16:02, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Ah, you misunderstood. It doesn't say anything about a new title for the game. "der neue Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-Titel XYZ [...]" = "the new title of the Mystery Dungeon series, XYZ, [...]", as in the new entry or game or whatever. --nYoo 12:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Wigglytuff's Back Story

Now that it's been proven that the Igglybuff in the pictures is Wigglytuff, shouldn't we say he is in the main article. along with that why aren't I allowed to edit the page? - unsigned comment from TeamMegaraptor (talkcontribs)

You aren't allowed to edit the page because it has been locked by the administrators. I do think it should be worth a tiny mention, but we still don't know a lot of information. It will probably be added once the game releases in Japan. Ryuartyi 03:17, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's most likely protected so people don't edit it, and then have to change incorrect info. Like how Platinum is protected for that reason. R.A. Hunter B. 03:44, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Maybe, but I really think people should just play the game before adding info they don't know is true or not. I have the game and I'm collecting info on it. But people just assume everything.~Spotman234~ 01:24, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Mystery Dungeon 3 Special

Serebii updated with news from Pokéani that there will be a PMD3 special airing on April 12th. I'd start the page, but I'm clueless how to start a special episode page. Ryuartyi 01:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

A few questions

Does this game still use the same "portraits" we use for the PMD2 side-game sprites? Is Arceus actually available in the game or is there just the statue? Are all of Rotom's forms in this game?--MisterE13 01:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Most likely. Statue only. I don't think so. R.A. Hunter Blade 03:40, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

The Storylines

I know the storylines to the special episodes after revising them about 22 times. I can't exactly read what's being said properly, but I can easily give the main outline and put it on the page. WARNING: IT WILL CONTAIN MANY SPOILERS! --Team Hyper 15:54, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Sky's Present

Updates to the artworks

I found out that there were some missing artworks here, so I've added two "new" artworks which I still had on my pc for some reason. One with a Chimchar and a Phanpy helping an Oddish, and one with a Squirtle and a Vulpix standing before a crystal. I've updated some of the other artworks too, which are now slightly better. --Grovyle91 01:46, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

What site did you get them from? And I have my reasons for asking... R.A. Hunter Blade 03:45, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
He said the Japanese site when he uploaded them on the Archives. MaverickNate 03:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes I saw that. I had forgotten that the PMD3 things were done slightly different than most official arts, especially the Oddish. That's what caught my eye when I first looked. I had thought it was fanart at first, because people can say things and do another thing. R.A. Hunter Blade 04:06, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, but it isn't fanart ;) You can also see these images in-game at the main menus (here and here). These artworks were from the Japanese Pokémon site from months ago, but since the game has been released in Japan the artworks are removed. I've made a video then, that's why I still had these images in my pictures folder. Btw if you're interested, there are some more artworks here (bottom) and here (top right). And sorry for my many "here"-links :p. --Grovyle91 13:14, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks. Like I said, I'm just being odd right now. I don't know why. And don't worry about the links. We do that all the time anyways. R.A. Hunter Blade 18:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
No problem. The Mystery Dungeon artworks are indeed different, if I were you I would be kinda suspicious too. Not to mention that these artworks are removed from the official site. I'm just glad that I could upload something :) --Grovyle91 22:56, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Legendary Beast Dungeons

Some of you might not know, but three new dungeons (aside from Destiny Tower and Sky Peak) have been added. These dungeons contain the legendary beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. All I know is a handful of facts:

Treacherous Waters has 20 floors and contains the following Pokémon:

  • Golduck, Tentacruel, Slowbro, Kingler, Staryu, Dragonair, Corsola, Octillery, Swampert, Lombre, Pelipper, Lombre, Glalie, Empoleon, Gastrodon (both kinds) and Walrein. Suicune appears at a random floor.

Southeastern Islands has 25 floors and contains the following Pokémon:

  • Mankey, Magnemite, Hypno, Exeggcute, Xatu, Ampharos, Umbreon, and Murkrow, Girafarig, Elekid, Hitmontop, Gardevoir, Hariyama, Elektrike, Lairon, Plusle, Minun, Grumpig, Absol, and Gallade. Raikou appears at a random floor.

Inferno Cave has 30 floors and contains the following Pokémon:

  • Vulpix, Rapidash, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Magmar, Typhlosion, Noctowl, Misdreavus, Aggron, Gulpin, Swalot, Numel, Camerupt, Torkoal, Shuppet, Banette, Rampardos, Cranidos, Drifloon, Drifblim, and Magmortar. Entei appears at a random floor.
  • Only the main player can go into these dungeons.
  • Only 8 items can be taken into these dungeons.
  • Money is reduced to 0.
  • The player cannot be rescued.

Shouldn't there be a Secret Bazaar article? I think it would be helpful. I'd do it myself, but I have never seen it on the game, and it is nearly complete! From Samjohn95 17:41, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't know if there is enough information to make a full article. The four bullet points in this article basically cover the whole thing. It's a small room, with one stall in each corner and Kirlia in the middle. Werdnae (talk) 18:41, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Though I see your point, it is a little vague. No prices, and it doesn't explain where they can be found, whether it can be found in every dungeon. How many floors can Shedinja cut off, or does it depend on the price you pay? I just think we either need a proper article, or at least a good sub-section on this one. A screenshot would be good too. Just a thought, I think it would be beneficial. Regards, and thanks for your thoughts, Samjohn95 21:17, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Special Episodes

I think there should be a page with the summary of the special episodes, and what you have to do, except for what is already on the page...MeDeoPal 12:54, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Team AWD

I was shocked to see Team Raider had a page of their own, despite being barely mentioned and seen only once. I just shrugged it off.

However, I noticed AWD had no page. Sure, they were characters you could only talk to and, other than casual convo., did not serve a purpose in Darkness and Time, but they made WAY more appearences than Raider. Heck, they even tell the player of Zero Isle. Now, in Sky, they do have a more major role: being the main antagonists of the Team charm episode. Now why don't they have a page?

Anyways, if anyone agrees with me that they are indeed deserving of a page, I will create it tomorrow. Your thoughts? - 050294 06:41, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

I say no. Team Raider is famous in the Pokémon world, and Team AWD isn't. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 06:50, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Maybe if you get enough info on them. tc²₆tc26 06:58, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
I think there notable, even though all that they do is try to find the Zero Islands, find them, and fail at passing through it. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 19:48, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Transformed??

Well, I was just playing with my game in the dungeon shimmer hill. And suddenly a black arcanine appeared on the screen. Then I used my attack and it turned into a normal tauros. I never cheat in the games, so I'm wondering if it's a glitch.--Maii 18:14, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Maii
