Synopsis
Template:Incomplete synopsis
Still on the way to Valor Lakefront, Dawn is surprised to meet Salvia, a Princess who looks exactly like her who has always dreamed of entering a Contest with her Togekiss. Deciding to take advantage of the situation, Salvia asks Dawn to swap places with her for the day so she can enter an upcoming contest with Togekiss while Dawn gets to sample the life of a Princess. Agreeing, Dawn soon learns the life of a princess isn't so easy while Salvia fulfils her dream of entering a contest. However Jessie (who is still attempting to win her fifth ribbon) is very angry when she sees 'Dawn' entering the contest despite having already collected five ribbons and vows to defeat her...

Trivia
- Instead of Professor Oak's Pokémon lecture, a preview of future events is shown.
- This one-hour special marks the 13th anniversary of the anime series.
- A new version of Which One ~ Is It? is used as the ending.
- Music from Pikachu's Vacation, Pikachu's Peek-a-Boo, Jirachi Wish Maker, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and The Rise of Darkrai is played in this episode.
- The way how Dawn and Salvia, who have identical appearances, change places and live each other's lives for sometime is similar to the plot of The Prince and the Pauper.
- Dawn's acquisition of Togekiss marks the first time a current main character other than Ash has had a full party of six Pokémon on hand since Misty returned to the Cerulean Gym in Gotta Catch Ya Later, 364 episodes earlier (although May did briefly have a full party of six when she temporarily recalled her Beautifly and Skitty to her team in The Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing!).
- Nearing the arrival of Generation V Pokemon, a script drawn out of the characters briefly revisiting Johto (prior to the release of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver) was presented to the animation staff, similar to the visiting of Kanto trailing the Hoenn Saga.
- This was the second time a "princess" was used in accordance to the Togepi evolution chain.
- Princess Iris shows resemblance to manga character "Lady Berlitz".
- This is the only time a main character has been directly giving a final evolved form of a Pokemon.
