Uxie (Japanese: ユクシー Yuxie) is a Psychic-type legendary Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Along with Mesprit and Azelf, Uxie is a member of the lake guardians, the Sinnoh region's Psychic-type legendary Pokémon trio.
Biology
Physiology
Uxie is a small, gray, fairy-like Pokémon with two gray tails that are each encrusted with a red gem. These are, presumably, two of the jewels which make up the Red Chain. Uxie has a partially yellow face with another red gem encrusted into its forehead. Uxie's head faintly resembles that of a helmet or a human brain.
Uxie always has its eyes closed due to the fact that it can wipe out the memory of those who look in its eyes.
Gender differences
Uxie is genderless, but is referred to as male in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness.
Special abilities
Uxie's spirit can leave its body without dying, and return at will. It can also wipe out the memory of those who see its eyes. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, it is shown that Uxie can also create an illusion. Uxie is also the most intelligent of all Pokémon, having created all knowledge in the Pokémon universe. It was also shown in The Needs of the Three! and The Battle Finale of Legend! that Uxie has the ability to teleport itself, as well as other Pokémon and humans.
Behavior
Uxie is a very shy Pokémon but will attack with force if it or the other two members of the lake guardians are threatened.
Habitat
Uxie lives in Lake Acuity.

Major appearances
A statue and silhouette of Uxie appeared in A Secret Sphere of Influence!.
Uxie's "soul" appeared to Brock, much in the same way those of Mesprit and Azelf appeared to Dawn and Ash, in Uncrushing Defeat!
Uxie appeared in its physical form in The Needs of the Three!, where it, along with Mesprit, came to Lake Valor after Azelf was captured. However, it was also captured by J and Team Galactic, but before it was captured, it used Future Sight with Mesprit, destroying her ship later on. It was then controlled by the team to help fulfill its goal. In The Battle Finale of Legend!, after breaking from their control with the help of Brock's Croagunk and Ash's Gliscor, it helped in stopping Cyrus's plot to use Dialga and Palkia.
Minor appearances
Uxie along with its trio made a brief appearance in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Beyond Time & Darkness as the protectors of the Time Gear.
In the manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Platinum is sent to guard Uxie from Team Galactic. She was chosen because, fittingly, she is very knowledgeable when compared to the calm Diamond or the hyper Pearl.

Trivia
- Azelf's Pokémon Pearl Pokédex entry mentions that Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf emerged from the same Egg.
- Uxie is the mascot of Poképédia.
- Interestingly, Poképédia shows Uxie with its eyes open, despite Pokédex entries stating that those who see its eyes will be wiped of all memories.
- Uxie, along with Mesprit and Azelf, are the lightest Pokémon.
- Despite having the same name in English and Japanese, the English dub gave Uxie a different voice than it had in Japan.
- Uxie is the only Pokémon introduced in Generation IV that has a name that starts with the letter U.
- Uxie is one of the few pre-Generation V Pokémon not to have appeared in a movie, along with its trio and Phione.
Origin
Uxie is based after a pixie or a fairy and the color yellow. Uxie and the rest of the trio could possibly have originated from the Imperial Regalia of Japan, which are also called the Three Sacred Treasures. Uxie would be the Yata no Kagami, which embodies wisdom and honesty.
Name origin
Uxie and Yuxie may be a combination of 行く先 yukusaki (future), 知識 chishiki (knowledge), and pixie. Alternatively, they may also be a combination of you and pixie.
