The Amp Plains tribes are two tribes of Pokémon which reside atop Amp Plains. The Luxio tribe (also known as the Luxio clan, Luxray's tribe, or Luxray's clan) is a group of eight Luxio led by a Luxray that appears in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. The Electrike tribe (also known as the Electrike clan, Manectric's tribe, or Manectric's clan) is a group of eight Electrike led by a Manectric that appears in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. They are very territorial, and follow a "strike first, ask later" strategy.
History and in-game role
According to Dusknoir, Luxray's clan, or in Explorers of Sky Manectric's clan, was once a peaceful tribe, roaming around in search of a place for temporary rest. However, once they were attacked by a fearsome foe, and ever since they always "strike first for fear of being stricken". They reside in Amp Plains often, for it is cloaked by thunderstorms during parts of the year. During the time in which the player adventures, Team Skull takes Azurill's Water Float and places it in Amp Plains, within Luxray or Manectric's habitat. The player and partner go to regain it. The player tries to hide from the clan, to find it useless; Luxray claims to see any that hide while Manectric would prefer that they hide so he could sneak up quietly from behind. Realizing that hiding is useless, they stand up to the challenge, but find themselves surrounded.
After the fight, as Luxray or Manectric uses a last-ditch attack that resembles Charge Beam, Dusknoir blocks it, saving the player and partner. The clan then leaves, never seen again.

Trivia
- The Luxray and the Luxio tribe may have been replaced by the Manectric and Electrike tribe in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky because one of the starter and partner choices in the game is Shinx.
- Though Luxray appears to use an Electric-type move similar to Charge Beam after the battle, it doesn't know any damaging moves of this type.
- Manectric uses the same move in Explorers of Sky as Luxray in Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, but the only damaging Electric-type move Manectric knows is Spark. Spark is not a move that can be used to attack from a distance like the move used at the end of the battle was able to do.
