Route 7
Route 7 is a tiny road between Saffron City and Celadon City. The Underground Path links to Route 8, but has been closed indefinitely due to excessive battling in the tunnel. This is the only area where two new Dark-type Pokémon—Murkrow and Houndour—can be found, but only in the overnight hours.

Celadon City
Celadon City has changed little in the past few years, though the Game Corner no longer conceals a criminal hideout. Like its counterpart in Goldenrod, the Celadon Department Store offers many useful and hard-to-find items, so don't miss out! Eusine can be found in the Pokémon Center, having returned to his hometown. Once Raikou and Entei have been caught, he informs you of fresh rumors of a rainbow-colored Pokémon appearing at Tin Tower, and leaves for Ecruteak. Coverage of the tower can be found here.

Celadon Mansion
When night falls, take the path behind the Pokémon Center and enter the Celadon Mansion through the back door. The man on the roof will tell a scary story, and rewards you with TM03 (Curse) for listening to the whole thing. Curse raises both Attack and Defense while lowering Speed, but works differently for Ghosts.
Restaurant
The restaurant on the south side of town is currently hosting an eat-a-thon. Check the trash can by the counter to find some Leftovers, which restore a bit of the holder's health every turn.
Game Corner
Celadon's Game Corner has added a Card Flip game, which allows players to place bets on which card will appear. The deck consists of twenty-four cards, with each featuring a number from 1 to 6 and the image of a Pokémon (Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Oddish, or Poliwag). Bets can be placed by single card, single column, single row, pair of columns, or pair of rows.
Like the Goldenrod Game Corner, this one also offers rare Pokémon and items as prizes.

Celadon Gym
CELADON CITY
POKéMON GYM
LEADER: ERIKA
The Nature-Loving
Princess
The Celadon Gym specializes in Grass-type Pokémon. Fire, Flying, and Ice types will have an easy time here, but Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type Pokémon should sit this one out. Erika's Tangela is especially vulnerable to Special moves, so take it out with a Fire or Ice attack. Two of her Pokémon know the Sunny Day move; while enabling Bellossom's SolarBeam to launch without a charge-up, it also doubles the power of Fire attacks. Her Jumpluff can be a speedy nuisance, but with a 4× weakness to Ice moves, a sub-zero shot will ground it for good.
|
Defeated, Erika awards you the Rainbow Badge, and hands over TM19 (Giga Drain) as a prize.
With the Celadon Gym defeated, your next stop is Route 16 to the west.
