The Lonely Snover! (Japanese: さびしがりやのユキカブリ！ The Lonely Yukikaburi!) is the 121st episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 587th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on April 2, 2009, as part of a one-hour special along with DP122 and in the United States on August 22, 2009.
Synopsis
The gang is on their way to Snowpoint City, though a nearby a Pokémon keeps trying to get their attention, by using Powder Snow to freeze Ash and Co, but Chimchar's flame on it's back thaws the ice, then unfreezes the gang using Flamethrower, then later Grass Knot make Ash and Co fall over. The gang gets fed up, and decide to look for the Pokémon, finding a Snover. After catching them with Ingrain and using Grasswhistle, Snover offers her berries to the everyone, which bears a resemblance to mochi.link title Snover has dinner and sleeps with them for the night, as Team Rocket try a failed attempt to catch Snover.
The next day, after Ash finds acorns growing on Grotle's back, Jessie, James, and Meowth return to try for Snover again, taking Grotle in the process. Grotle falls from Team Rocket's balloon, but is caught by Snover's Ingrain. Grotle, determined to save Snover, scampers up a cliff to destroy the balloon and catch the falling Snover.
After Brock tries to catch the attention of a passing schoolteacher, Snover is left with her class as everyone continue on to Sandlestraw Town for Dawn's next contest.

- Together is used as background music.
- This is the first episode in which a main character's Pokémon explicitly uses a current HM move.
- This episode marks the first time Ash's Grotle has used Energy Ball since evolving from Turtwig.
- In fact, this is the first episode where Ash's Grotle used another move apart from Razor Leaf since its evolution in Aiding the Enemy!.
- Snover's Grasswhistle is a remix of Oracion.
- The dub title is the English equivalent of the original title, the first title that is a direct translation since Leave It To Brocko!.
Changes
- Much like Here's Looking at You, Elekid before it, this episode begins a new era for the Pokémon anime, as it switches from a 4:3 aspect ratio to a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, while broadcasting in high-definition for the first time.
- A new title card is introduced. It features the Sinnoh Gym Badges Ash currently has and Contest Ribbons Dawn earned. It also features the silhouettes of Dialga and Palkia, with the Notched-ear Pichu under the title. The Pichu was for a Japanese contest only so she did not appear in the dub version's title card.
- The new eyecatches are introduced. This time, Ash was positioned at the center for the first eyecatch and Dawn was positioned at the center of the second eyecatch. Previously, Dawn was at the center of the eyecatches. In addition, a quiz in Japan was introduced where residents from Japan had to answer where the Notched-ear Pichu appeared in.
- The font used for the "To be continued" text at the end of the episode has been changed, after being the same since EP001.
Errors
- In one scene, the dot on Staraptor's head is missing.
- In the scene where Snover gives out his berries, his tail is the same color as his body.
