Trivia
Origin
Shimama seems to be based on a zebra. It may also be based on two of Helios's steeds that pulled his chariot, Bronte and Sterope, who are known to humans as thunder and lightning, respectively.
Name origin
Shimama is a corruption of the Japanese word シマウマ shimauma, meaning "zebra."
