I have a question for you regarding my user page.
Now, I want to make my user page better, but I wanna ask.
Is it ok that I list my favorite Pokémon and what I like don't like about Pokémon, or does my user page have to be relevant to this encyclopedia somehow? TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 01:53, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- That's entirely fine, and pretty much exactly what the userspace is meant for. A list of what isn't allowed, as well as additional rules & restrictions regarding the userspace, can be found at the userspace policy. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 01:57, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks I'll be sure to read the policy. Oh, and I am going to make use of that preview button since I know there is a limit to how much I'm allowed to update my user page a day. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 02:07, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Sprite completion
Everything in Stage 2 of the Trainer sprites project has been finished, including the protected pages (with special thanks to Sprite-it for fixing them all). Masatoshi* already took care of Stage 3 after all of the sprite links were changed on their respective pages so we don't have to worry about that. PattyMan 04:56, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- Both Spriteit and Masatoshi had already come to me in regards to approval for the work they did, so I'm already aware of the completion of Stage 2 and Stage 3. But, thank you anyway for the progress report. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 01:22, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Question about Dunsparce page
I recently updated the page with its Gold/Silver backsprites in an extra box, and you changed the extras to the Crystal backsprites.
In the history page it says the main box sprites will "take a while to refresh"; does this mean they will correctly show the Gold/Silver backsprites soon? As of now they appear to show the Crystal sprites. Just wondering! Frezgle (talk) 12:18, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- They're meant to show Crystal backsprite, while that big template should show GS (someone uploaded Crystal backsprite on GS's file) Marked +-+-+ (talk) 12:28, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if I should revert them back to the proper file or if that's in the works already D: I did upload the G/S files prior to my edit to show the differences between the two and I'm not sure why they're now both the Crystal sprite. Frezgle (talk) 12:33, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- Server takes time to update. Due to that, they look correctly at Archives, but not Bulbapedia. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 12:37, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- Urrggh yeah, I figured that out after attempting to revise it and seemingly barfing up the revision history x~x Guess I'll just leave it alone then Frezgle (talk) 12:40, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- For a bit of an elaboration, Bulbapedia (and Bulbanews) supply files through a cached content delivery network (CDN). When files are modified on the Archives, the CDN will generally change the cached image within 24 hours. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 01:22, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Transcripts
Why don't we do pokemon transcripts? If you want to add everything about pokemon why not those to. Dbeckelheimer6 (talk) 23:17, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- It's an issue of copyright. Copying the subject of an episode word for word can be considered a rather serious violation of respective copyrights. This is why we do episode synopses, rather than transcripts. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 23:23, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, Ok. Dbeckelheimer6 (talk) 23:24, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Dugtrio sprites
Ok, someone's been screwing around with the Dugtrio sprites and replacing them with random sprites. Can you revert them? I've never uploaded an image onto a wiki. TheShinyRoggenrola (talk) 14:34, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
They've been fixed now. TheShinyRoggenrola (talk) 16:13, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm confused...
What's the difference between when a Pokémon learns a new move, or is revealed to know it? --Doggy567123 (talk) 00:08, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- Learning a move is physically seen in the episode. The main characters will point out that it didn't know the move beforehand. (Cilan's Crustle using Rock Wrecker after evolving is an example) Revealing a move is when the characters are aware that the Pokémon knows the move, they just haven't used it before. (Example being Cilan's Dwebble using Rock Slide for the first time) ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 00:54, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Project Pokémon
Hi. I was wondering if I could start a project : Project Pokemon. a project that where infomation about pokemon TCG online and stratiges to build strong decks. I play at the local hobbie shop and noticed the lack of data on real life decks and good stratiges to make them strong. That is where Project Pokemon comes in, to make articles about cards, decks, and good stratiges. I know pokemon.com is a sorce but the data is limited and only on like 2-3 card combos which is very sad because pokemon is more than that. please get back to me. It said to ask a staff member and I noticed you are online. do you have the power or know someone I could ask? Thank You --Eatfish (talk) 19:27, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
- This appears to have already been handled here. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 12:08, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
About the usertags
Excuse me, but I was wondering what the wikicode for your This user comes from Canada, Proud to be Canadian and LBRAGRRAHW! usertags are? Thanks- TeamPlasmaN1212 17:14, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- The code for the country tag is
{{User Country|400|Canada|F00|FFF|F00}}
, the pride tag can be directly included by using {{User:Kogoro/Canada Day}}
. The LBRAGRRAHW! tag is a bit more personal, and I'd prefer that it isn't used by individuals without connection to its background, sorry. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 04:39, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Shaymin events
Hey, Kogoro. I was wondering if you could take a look at the Event page for Shaymin if you have a chance to. I am not familiar enough with how the template works and was hoping that you could work out the remaining issues on the table. --Super goku (talk) 20:07, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- Because of that template being updated the template is broken on tons of other Pokémon pages, not just Shaymin. It was updated as part of a major event Pokémon rework on Bulbapedia. The way to fix the problems on the template is by adding the link perimeter, because the Template:gameabbrev3 breaks the event template without the link perimeter. I can fix the template in a little bit. Lady Ariel 20:18, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you for that. I saw it had been updated, but I thought that it was something that I was forgetting to do with Shaymin's page. Thank you for the help. :) --Super goku (talk) 20:22, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the notice
Thanks for the information, I will stop updating the cards. Jerbuta (talk) 20:08, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

User page
Can you please change the policy so new users on Bulbapedia (such as myself) can edit their own user page? I don't understand why we can't even edit our own user page. Will this change take place or not? Also, what's the reason behind it so we can't edit our own user page? --IllaZilla (talk) 01:10, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- This has been covered here. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 02:21, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Preview Button Protocol
What did I screw up that would warrent the necessity of this?
Jdogno4 (talk) 09:38, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- This isn't due to any one incidence, but many over the course of your time on Bulbapedia: 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5, and 6. Even with a mandatory preview, it took you two edits to post this question. You really need to learn to use the preview button, so you can make your changes with a single edit. That is why it is necessary. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 02:21, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Plagiarism
There has been a user by the name of Blugo34 on the Pokemon Wiki (a Wikia wiki) who has been taking images from Bulbapedia and uploading them to the wiki without even attributing Bulbapedia. I originally notified to Dennou Zenshi, but since he said he couldn't really do anything, and suggested I ask you, I did. Link to discussion. --NOBODY (talk) 22:54, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
Protected Pages
Hey I've been trying to move the articles about the BW chapters that are a part of the newly-released Volume 44 so that I can rename them so that the links on the Volume 44 page actually lead to something. But you protected the pages around two years ago. Can you or someone who's an admin change the titles of those articles so that they will fit with the volume format now that they are parts of volumes? Thanks. Bulbapedia News

Koga's and Giovanni's sprites
Deat Kogoro,
I am trying to change Giovanni's and Koga's VS sprite to their gen III sprites because they aren't gym leaders in generation IV. If you look up Viridian City and Fuchsia City, you will see Koga's and Giovanni's gen III, not their VS sprites. Also, if you try to edit Viridian City or Fuchsia City, you will see a message by an admin saying that their gen III sprites are used because they weren't gym leaders in gen IV and that admin will ban you for 1 month if you edit it to their gen IV sprite. I am trying to follow his example and change their VS sprites to their gen III sprites. If you could, please let me do so.
Sincerely,
- unsigned comment from Agent5514 (talk • contribs)
- Commented instructions are only in effect on the page they are placed on, unless they specifically note additional pages that are also subject to the instructions. The Indigo League and Gym Leader pages use the VS sprites for consistency within the table, among other reasons, and were done so after a lengthy discussion. It was also brought up in July 2012, and it was made quite clear that users preferred the VS sprites over the FRLG battle sprites for Koga and Giovanni on the Gym Leader page.
- When someone reverts you, especially a member of the Bulbapedia staff, it is imperative that you do not restore your changes and that you bring up your concerns on the article's talk page instead. What you have done on the Gym Leader and Indigo League pages is start what is called an edit war, which is not permitted on Bulbapedia and can result in blocks ranging from temporary to permanent. If you wish for the sprites to be changed, bring it up on the talk page for the Gym Leader article, and allow due discussion. Do not restore your changes until such discussion has taken place, and been properly finalized. Thank you, - Kogoro - Talk to me - 21:04, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
About your edit to my page
I understand the policy on personal images, and I'm not going to argue that. However, I am not sure how exactly to link an external image in that template. If you could help me on that much, it would be much appreciated. Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 13:43, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- To use an external image in that usertag, you will need to remove the archives filename from your inclusion of the usertag and replace it with: "
image=complete URL of the image
" Be sure that your external file is no larger than 60×60 pixels, or it will stretch out the tag. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 23:39, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks. I see what I was doing wrong, I didn't have the "image=" as part of the parameter, so I was getting random crap. Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 23:53, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Please move my group, cause i want to make some templates on my sub user space.--αlιρικαchu ~ ·ï¡÷¡ï· ~ тαlĸ 18:58, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- To be completely honest with you, I must still decline to restore your userspace privileges. Your most recent edit to Bulbapedia prior to the month of April 2013 was on May 17th 2012. You've been gone from Bulbapedia for nearly an entire year, and the last edit prior to this absence was part of the last time you asked for your userspace privileges back. You have only made a total of 11 mainspace edits since you have returned, and the vast majority of those edits were reverted. So, once again, I am sorry, but no. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 19:47, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- 1.Am I able to make templates without that user space.2.How can I take screenshot of routes like this Johto_Route_41--αlιρικαchu ~ ·ï¡÷¡ï· ~ тαlĸ 08:02, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- If the templates are not personal in nature, you can create examples of them in the official sandbox. If they are personal in nature (like a usertag), you cannot create them without earning your userspace privileges back.
- Screenshots like the one on that page are created by taking smaller screenshots of the entire area, then connecting them all together as a single file through any image editing program. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 21:08, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Images
May I know that does a page has it's limits for adding pictures or the limit of pictures is relative to the text? - User:`Dawn (talk) 10:26, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- In general, the image limit is relative to how much written content is available on the article. Additionally, please add new discussions as new sections rather than attaching them to completed and/or unrelated previous discussions. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 10:36, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Stadium sprites
Hello, Kogoro! I'm having a slight problem, and a user recommended I'd ask you. So, here goes:
A little while back I noticed that Bulbagarden Archives have all the Stadium and Stadium 2 Pokémon sprites, which made me wonder why aren't they at use. So I checked it out, and found out that the {{Party}}
template cannot show Stadium images in their properly small size. So, the favor I'm asking you is, that could you please edit the aforementioned template so that the Stadium Pokémon sprites can be used in it with a proper size? I hope you understood. Thank you! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:11, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
PS. BTW, do you know how to upload Stadium images, because several Stadium portraits, including several Trainer portrait from Stadium, and, most importantly to me, Mewtwo's portrait from Stadium 2. So, if you can do this, could you please tackle this job after (possibly) completing the aforementioned request? Once again, thank you.
- To start, you seem to be a little confused here, so I want to clear this up:
{{party}}
has nothing to do with what Pokémon images can and can't be used, that's specified by the version of the Pokémon box that is used (example: {{Pokémon/1}}
). With that said, the Stadium models a massive issue preventing their use in parties; they're all inconsistently sized. Caterpie's file is exceptionally tiny, while Blastoise's file is rather large. Blastoise's image is rather square, while Gyarados's file is much taller than it is wide. There may be ways to handle these size issues, but to accomplish that will take quite a bit of planning. Additionally, it will take the creation of a completely new Pokémon box for Stadium & Stadium 2 use. I will look into it, but I make no promises of it working or ever seeing the mainspace. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 03:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Before I thank you, I'd like to say that yes, I knew that the images were incorrectly sized, but I thought that the problem was at the template. I seemed to think that there could be a way to make the template show the images in a proper size, but if that's not the case, and something new has to be done, take all the time you need. And now, thank you for your attention. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:26, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
How would I go about
changing my username to Launchballer? It is the username I use everywhere else.--Tmwps (talk) 14:05, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Users are not able to change their own usernames. Username change requests need to be sent to a member of the Editorial Board, such as myself. With that noted, I have noticed that you attempted to change usernames on your own by redirecting everything of yours to the "Launchballer" name back in May 2010, and you have not edited Bulbapedia once between then and 2013 (Your last mainspace edit was in May 2009). It is my opinion that you need to contribute more to Bulbapedia, show that you plan to stay as a regular contributor to the encyclopedia, before we can consider changing your username. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 18:21, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Fanfiction Page
I would like to suggest to add a page of notable fanficions from Fanfiction.net, because Fanfiction is a becoming a large part of fandom and they should be noted and celebrated.
Shadow out.
ShadowPikachu126 (talk) 02:14, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- What constitutes a "notable" fanfic is an extremely debatable subject. While a page (or, more likely a section) about the impact that fanfiction has on the fandom as a whole may be reasonable, a list of "notable" fanfics would only prove to be a source of constant disagreement. We'll look into what may be possible. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 02:49, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I do believe that Fanfiction is a notable part of Pokemon Culture and should be noted.

Question about general typo editing
Uh, hello Kogoro. I use this wiki alot, and I kept coming up on a few typoes as I was doing some searching. I was trying to edit the Gardevoir main page, because I saw a capitalization error. I didn't see any edit buttons. I'm assuming it's because Gardevoir recently got the fairy type. But then I went to add something to Gallade's page, and I didn't see edit buttons there, either. So, uh, yeah, help me out? (Also, in case I can't edit it, the typo was a capital 'T' in torso on Gardevoir's page, and the Gallade thing was just some trivia) Snorzy (talk) 03:29, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
- Both articles are protected due to Gardevoir's new Fairy typing, since speculation/unsourced information has an extremely bad habit of spreading to intimately connected articles. If an article doesn't have any edit links, and the main "edit this page" tab has been replaced by "view source", the article in question is under protection and the reason can be seen by checking the source via the aforementioned tab. An edit request can be made on the article's talk page, and action will be taken as quickly as possible. The capitalization fix for Gardevoir's article has been handled by Force Fire. Thank you, - Kogoro - Talk to me - 05:12, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Have a look to Ivsaur's Page
Hello Sir,the edits I made yesterday were reverted by you and you are right about them that they should be rewritten.
Please Tell me what should be changed.
In my opinion:
- Habitat should be removed.(As already mentioned in the message of 14th August)
- Diet should be removed.
- Only special moves and abilities should be added.
- A small brief introduction at the top.
Is this all I have to do?
Please reply soon.--Monfernape (talk) 03:34, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- As the August 14th Message from the Editor notes, Bulbasaur should be used as an example of what needs to be done. I would highly suggest checking out the revision differences for when Bulbasaur was converted to the new format, as it will show how drastic the changes need to be. The message you received from Crystal Talian covers the general basics. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 05:53, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Username change request
Hi, I'm asking if it's possible to get my Bulbapedia username changed, with Vaehran being the new username. I'm trying to deprecate this age-old, unpractical "Mewtwo745" username, and I'm already using Vaehran on the Bulbagarden forums and other Pokémon communities. I haven't done much yet in the way of edits, so this shouldn't be too hard on resources. (A busy Werdnae forwarded me to your talk page a while back, but I decided to email you instead anyway. Receiving no response, I'm posting this here; should've done that originally.) Mewtwo745 (talk) 17:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Deletion ability
Hey Kogoro~ I want to delete a few old pages in my userspace, but it seems my ability to delete pages has been removed even though I'm still classified as a junior administrator. I haven't been familiar with Bulbapedia policies for a couple years now. How should I proceed? Thanks. Argy (talk) 07:22, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, Argy, good to see you around! Junior Administrators don't have the delete ability, only full Administrators and higher have it, so that would be why you are unable to delete anything. If you just drop me links to the pages here, I can delete them for you. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 07:57, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, that's what I suspected. No problem whatsoever. :) Here are the pages: this one, this one, and this one. Just trying to clean up a bit. Thank you! Argy (talk) 18:36, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- All deleted, glad to help. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 22:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Region colors
Just out of curiosity, why did you change the colors of each region except Kalos? I was so used to those colors. SeanWheeler (talk) 16:20, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- The region colors, specifically Sinnoh's color, was causing problems with some templates due to the extreme similarities it had to the colors for Black and Black 2. Additionally, the colors for the regions had no official basis and were somewhat randomly decided (mostly by an individual who did not have the authority to make such decisions). The official guidebook for Black 2 and White 2 contains information regarding the PWT, uses the these very colors for the regional Gym Leader tournaments. Kalos, of course, didn't exist at the time and still uses an unofficial color. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 22:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Has it been considered to use the colors from the Kalos National Pokédex? When viewing the national Pokédex in X and Y, there are colors on the right side corresponding to each region. --Kylalak (talk) 14:05, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
Suggestion: Strategies
Hello Kogoro, I come to you with a suggestion, a rather ambitious and large one so sit back, grab your tea and get ready to read because it's going to be a long post.
Overview:
As a frequent and old Pokémon player I regularly find the need to search for the best way to raise my Pokémon, which Pokémon are the best to catch, and after having them, how can I maximize the potential of each and every Pokémon in my team. As you clearly know, there is no information on Bulbapedia (except for some stats, abilities and natures, but nothing indicative of a potential "best" situation) regarding this matter. Therefore, I wish to make a proposition so we can fulfill this niche of players who look to find the best way to make their team the most powerful one, or just to help guide the average player with his playing experience in order to avoid some frustration as to why his Pokémon aren't performing in up top shape. To serve this purpose I'm going to make two suggestions: the first one would be a simple short version of what a possible best strategy could be; and the second one would be a sort of in-depth guide for the training on each individual Pokémon. Now on to the suggestions!
- Disclaimer: (should be written and applied in all suggestions)
These builds and strategies are all but mere suggestions to serve as a guide for the average player who may struggle with the use of his Pokémon or simply to allow
them to learn more about how to unlock the true potential of each Pokémon. It is not meant for the player to be forced to take this path. The player should choose, by himself, which is the best way to raise his Pokémon.
- First Suggestion - Recommended Strategy
Objective - Serves as a quick go-to guide for the overall best strategy for a specific Pokémon.
Example:
EVs and Nature:
EVs: 252 Attack / 4 Speed / 252 Special
Nature: Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)
These EVs are completely focused on hard hitting targets, with a maximized Attack and Special Attack stats as it will guarantee a clear sweep which will continue to improve with each successful Dragon Dance.
See EV and List of Pokémon by effort value yield for more information on how to raise your Pokémon stats (alternatively it would be a good idea to make a page dedicated just to how to train your Pokémon's EV and how Natures affect your Pokémon, etc etc etc).
Strategy:
The strategy is as simples as follows:
- Keep using Dragon Dance whenever the opponent opens up a window of opportunity;
- Hit them straight in the face with whichever move is the best against that Pokémon, otherwise stick to Outrage;
- Use Extremespeed as a finisher;
Optionally, the use of Earthquake against teams who use Steel, Poison or Fire Pokémon has proven very effective. Roost is also
a good move if the player wishes to make the most out of Multiscale.
- Second Suggestion - In-depth Guide
Objective - Provide a complete in-depth competitive strategy giving the most important information and explanations about which build to choose for the specific Pokémon. As we know the competitive scene always brings out the best in the meta of every game, so to dedicate a page to strategies of the current metagame could greatly serve and help anyone who is looking for the best of the best.
Example
- Pokémon
- Name: Dragonite
- Index: 149
- First Type: Dragon
- Second Type: Flying
- Species: Dragon Pokémon
- Ability: Multiscale or Inner Focus
(tip: a box specific for this idea would be nice, I couldn't find one)
- Strategy Name: Physical Attacker
- Held Item: Haban Berry / Leftovers
- Abilty: Multiscale
- Nature: Adamant
- EV:
- 204 HP
- 252 Attack
- 52 Special Attack
- Moveset
- Dragon Claw
- Extremespeed
- Fire Punch
- Protect
- Strategy
This is the standard Dragonite set. Dragon Claw is Dragonite's main move, as it gets the STAB boost and is only resisted by Steel-types. Fire Punch provides nice coverage along with Dragon Claw, hitting Abomasnow and Steel-types for super effective damage. However, it should be noted that despite being super effective, Fire Punch won't do over 50% to max HP Metagross. ExtremeSpeed will allow Dragonite to strike first, moving even before all other priority attacks bar Fake Out. Protect is a staple for most Pokemon in VGC, and can also be used in sync with Leftovers to help restore HP each turn.
The 204 HP EVs allow Dragonite to always survive Life Orb Latios's Draco Meteor, and also gives it maximum Leftovers recovery and good bulk. The 52 Speed EVs let Dragonite outrun minimum speed Rotom-A. The rest of the EVs are put into Attack. An Adamant nature allows Dragonite to deal as much damage as possible, while Leftovers is used to restore some HP each turn, which might allow multiple usage of Multiscale. Haban Berry, however, lets Dragonite survive a Dragon Gem Latios's Draco Meteor, which it cannot do with just Multiscale.
As for teammates, Ground-types such as Krookodile can work well as Dragonite is immune to their Earthquake. Scrafty is a handy partner as it has Fake Out to help Dragonite preserve Mutiscale for a turn. Its STAB attacks are also super effective against Abomasnow and Latios, Dragonite's two main counters. Either Politoed or Ninetales can also be used to get rid of opposing sandstorm and hail if needed, as both of these weathers will break Dragonite's Multiscale. Taken from Smogon University (I am aware that we shouldn't provide content from other websites without asking their permission but I don't have the enough experience to write a full on strategy by myself, I merely wanted to use this as an example, I understand if you have to remove this and if I would have to be scolded for putting this here)
Important side note: all of this information should be backed with a link to a page explaining how to evolve your Pokémon to raise their EVs this way, why and what natures affect what stats, what Pokémon to fight against if you want to have the best stats raised, how to catch Pokérus to further your stat evolution, the use of Vitamins in EVs, training with Macho Brace and the remaining factors that can boost the stats of the Pokémon.
Secondary side note: As you can see the difference between this guide and the first guide is that the first guide should provide a more comprehensive and simple way for anyone to build their Pokémon in a specific powerful way, while the second one should be an all-out strategy taking the most important factors into consideration on the current metagame.
Pros and Cons of these suggestions:
Pros - the first suggestion is quick, succinct, easy to read and understandable, every build shouldn't be bigger than that, and the idea is that anyone can easily shortcut it's ways through the menu and quickly understand one of the best builds for Dragonite (in its page). The second suggestion should have a page completely dedicated to it and should serve as a complete in-depth guide of how to build a specific Pokémon. If we display several strategies while backing up that information with each and every VGC (and other important tournaments), this solves the subjective con since we could 100% base ourselves on real strategies used in real life tournaments and place them there for anyone to learn.
Cons - subjectiveness, my idea of "best build" can differ from the next guy, so this can be a problem in the sense that will probably generate a lot of discussion and to ascertain a common "best build" amongst the community could be very hard. This would require a change in each and every Pokémon page to grant a strategy to each one of it, or would require the creation of 600+ pages for in-depth guides in each Pokémon page. Either one of those are obviously time consuming. Another added con is that all of this information is very volatile as it can change from generation to generation with stats/abilities/move updates and new moves coming in to the game, requiring constant maintenance with each generation.
Presented Solutions - create a best strategy contest! This contest should be held weekly with different Pokémons each week, allowing for the community to pitch in their very own version of what the best strategy is while in the meantime allowing anyone who visits Bulbapedia to vote on what the best strategy is. At the end of the week the contest closes and the best strategy is posted on the Pokémon page crediting the user who entered the strategy. This could entice the community in to sharing ideas between them and would definitely bring more people in so they could place their own strategies for everyone to see. This solution could be made on the Bulbapedia page, or have a part of the forum dedicated to it. It could also be applied to any of the two suggestions I made.
Conclusion
I understand that overall this is a very, very hard and ambitious project for the whole Bulbapedia, with new games coming up every year, with new Anime and new Manga out every month, there is a lot of information that needs to be reviewed and constantly updated. Even after all these years the to-do list for Bulbapedia is huge and there's always some things that were left out that could have been done in a better fashion, hence my fear that making this could be a bite bigger than Bulbapedia can chew, and so I am ready to accept the fact that this suggestion will, most possibly, be discarded and forgotten as certainly there are other things waiting to be done and reserved for the future of Bulbapedia. To finish this massive wall of text, I just want to thank you for your patience and attention given in reading all this, I am very sorry that it had to came out this long, and I wish to point out that all I ever wanted was to provide a new perspective, a competitive perspective even, a new way for Bulbapedia to improve and become a better place for everyone. However, I didn't want to do it without having my opinions properly backed up. ----EtherealAether (talk) 16:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- While this is certainly a niche that we don't cover in extreme detail, we have very important reasons why we can't cover it in such a way. Per our manual of style, information in articles should be factual and neutral. Strategy suggestions/advice is completely opposite to that. Bulbapedia is not a game guide, nor does it strive to be one, Bulbapedia is a Pokémon encyclopedia. We do not strive to recommend or tell players how they should play and enjoy the games, we strive to offer factual information that allows them to create their own strategies and experiences. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 22:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi! I'll struggle to keep this in mind whenever I decide to suggest new things. Thank you very much for your time ^^ ----EtherealAether (talk) 23:34, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Ken Sugimori artwork
I got a message earlier on my talk page about some of the art from Ken Sugimori being from different games than what the images describe them, as seen here. So, what do you think? PattyMan 21:35, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
- We'll need to look into it in depth before making any large-scale changes. With XY coming in a month, it won't happen until after the XY rush period. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 12:29, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Bulbanews
That site looks generic and boring without roundy thing compared to Bulbapedia, even the Archive looks better than it. Also, I'm not the only one who bothering this. Would you like to do something about it? Thanks! AKUro? あくロちゃん 09:11, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- It would not be appropriate for me to simply up and change the appearance of Bulbanews, as I do not hold an executive position there. If you want something like that changed on Bulbanews, you would need to seek out the approval of the Bulbanews Editor-in-Chief. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 09:34, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Request
Hi, sorry to bother you. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to request a username change. I've spent five years under the name "KCorp4000", but now I see it as an awkward, outdated mess. If you could change it to "TylerGray", my alias on the forums and other communities, I would happily never ask again. My edit count stands at just over 2200, the wide majority in the Appendix namespace. Thanks for your time. — KC 06:11, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Done. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 03:26, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Pokémon pages are protected
Can you unprotect the pages for Froakie, Chespin, Fennekin, Xerneas, Sylveon, and Yveltal? These pages have indefinite edit protection. Lady Ariel 16:50, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
Image protection
Now that the X and Y games are out, could the image protections be removed, such as the Mega Stone sprite protections? I would be ready to upload some images whenever it would be possible. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:08, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
- Can you unprotect the uploading on Archives? I really want to start sending the new pictures. Thank you. Pikachu65 14:54, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
- I know that the X and Y games are out, but could you unprotect the uploading and editing on Archives? I really want to start uploading some images whenever it would be possible. Pikachu65 13:34, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
- Editing and uploading to the Bulbagarden Archives will remain restricted for the time being. We are currently working on the extremely important plans required before the Archives will be opened. Please be patient during this time, and any upload or edit requests can be sent to any member of the Archives staff via their respective Bulbapedia talk pages.
- Additionally, I highly suggest that all users take the time to check a staff members online status here before contacting them. I was on an unexpected, but publicly announced hiatus until just now. I was not ignoring anyone, I wasn't available to respond. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 09:08, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- I know. But I have a request about uploading the picuters and editing them, so I must to talk to the Archives staff via their respective Bulbapedia talk pages, right? Pikachu65 10:38, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- If you have a request regarding uploading a file, or making an edit, you can send the request to a single member of the Archives staff about it. Keep in mind, the only accepted requests would be for that staff member to make the edit or upload for you. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 06:16, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Your moveset list templates
Are they approaching a usable form? - signed comment from GoldenCelebi (pedia talk • news talk • archives talk) 17:12, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- Moveset list templates? I assume you mean the ones I made in the
Template:
namespace? They were ready for use the moment they were created, that's why they exist in the Template:
namespace rather than my userspace. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 06:16, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
