[[Category:{{{type1}}}-type Pokémon|{{{ndex}}}]] Bibarel (Japanese: ビーダル Beadull) is a dual-type Normal/Water Pokémon.

It evolves from Bidoof starting at level 15.

Biology

Physiology

Trivia

  • Due to its ability to learn six HM moves (seven in HeartGold and SoulSilver), Bibarel is considered by fans to be the ideal HM slave.
  • Every time Bibarel appears in the anime, it has a female "mask".
    • The same applies to its official artwork.
  • No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Bibarel.
  • It is notable for being one of only two Normal dual-type Pokémon that is not part Template:Type2, the other being Girafarig. It is also the only dual-type Normal-type Pokémon that maintains its weakness to the Template:Type2.
  • Despite evolving at level 15, bibarel can be caught at a lower level in the wild.

Origin

Bibarel is based on a beaver.

Name origin

Its name comes from Beaver and Barrel. Bibarel's Japanese name Beadull is derived from the English word beaver and dull, referring to its simple minded and relaxed manner, or 樽 taru, barrel. It also referred as ビーバー "beaver" in Japanese and "barrel".

In other languages

  • German: Bidifas - From Biber (beaver) and Fass (barrel).
  • French: Castorno - From castor (beaver).
  • Korean: 비버통 Beavertong
