- Yanmega and Yanma share the same Speed base stat.
- Yanmega and its pre-evolution, Yanma, are the only pokemon that can learn all three versions of Ancient Power.
Origin
It is, as its name suggests, based on the Meganeura monyi, a particularly large, prehistoric species of dragonflies. It is also similar to Meganula / Megaguirus (メガギラス), a prehistoric dragonfly-like Kaiju.
Name origin
Yanmega's name is a combination of 蜻蜓 yanma, large dragonfly in Japanese, and Meganeura, a species of gigantic prehistoric dragonfly. Its Japanese name means the same thing, albeit in reverse. However, it could just simply be a combination of mega, meaning large, and yanma.
