Habitat

Charmeleon are rare in the wild, but thrive in harsh enviroments such as craggy mountains and active volcanoes.

Diet

Main article: Pokémon food

In the games

  • Pokémon Snap: Two Charmeleon can be found at the Volcano. The first is initially a Charmander seen with a Magmar. Throw it food, and it will be attacked by the Magmar, making it evolve into Charmeleon. At the end of the course, another Charmeleon paces around a pit of lava, stopping to roar every now and then. Hit it into the pit of lava, and it will evolve into Charizard.

In the anime

Ash Ketchum's Charmander evolved into Charmeleon in March of the Exeggutor Squad. It quickly grew unruly and disobedient and evolved into Charizard soon after.

In The Crystal Onix, Mateo used a Charmeleon to make glass and battle the titular Crystal Onix.

The young Sammy Oak used a Charmeleon in Pokémon 4Ever.

Zippo, Ritchie's Charmander, evolved into a Charmeleon off-screen and was first seen in its evolved form in A Parent Trapped.

A Charmeleon also appeared under the ownership of a trainer named Jimmy in Judgement Day.

In the manga

In Pokémon Special, Green had a Charmeleon which had evolved from his Charmander. It has since evolved into Charizard.

In Pokémon Zensho, Satoshi has a Charmeleon that evolved from the Charmander he recieved from Professor Oak. It later evolves again into Charizard.

In the TCG

Five Charmeleon cards have been released.
