Talk:Glitch
I have heard about a glitch pokémon called Flootenkerp, that is a a mix of a mewtwo and a pikachu, and I want to know if it's true. Does anyone knows if it really exists? -- Luke 12 May, 2006
Anyone heard of that glitch in Emerald that allows for the cloning of Pokemon? Should that be documented here? PikamasterADV 31 July, 2006
There no cloning giltch in Emerald. --Philip1992 14:41, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Philip1992
Yes there is. Someone on Serebii.net found it, someone else tried it out & rewrote it in english. http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=134181 Slim 18:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

1st gen beta item makes HM03 pointless
I found a Hex list online with RBY item values, and I found a key item called ?????, and I used GameShark to put it on my Yellow. When used, the player can surf without a Pokémon. It was likely scrapped before the game was finished. I'm not sure if you need Koga's badge or not, since I already had it, anyway. I just thought it should be mentioned. --爆発 ばくはつ 18:04, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Glitch Trainer Pokemon
I saw an article about this somewhere and I can't seem to find it anymore. So in the meantime this post shall go here. My name in the game right now is ??!! male sign twice, female sign. Now the main point is that Bulbapedia doesn't talk about the two glitch pokemon that I've encountered via the Missingno. glitch. With this name executing the Missingno. glitch, the trainers that I end up fighting are: Channeler, CoolTrainer (Male), and Blaine, the gym leader. They have six pokemon and all are the same and as follows: A glitch pokemon I dubbed L8 (true name is what seems to be a right triangle, katakana symbol, 2 glitch boxes, followed by an 8). It seems to be the rock type, because grass moves are effective, and normal attacks are not. Its two attacks are Tackle and Screech. And for some reason, it changes backround music to some weird tune. It has no cry other than the changing of music. After which is followed up with a glitch Nidorino. It knows Razor Wind, Horn Attack, Tackle, and TM48 (the glitch explosion). Then the trainer pulls out a classic Missingno. (2 water guns and sky attack). Then another glitch pokemon which I dubbed Pokemon N (True Name: PKMN symbols 3 glitch boxes, then the letter N). Its cry is the tune for the Song move. It knows Tackle and Leer. After that one, a completely normal Flareon comes up. Then another glitch Nidorino pops up. After you defeat that one the match ends and you earn money. Why do these two pokemon show up, and why does the music change is all I want to know. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MrMcMan (talk • contribs).
- I've heard of this happening, stuff like wild Oaks and Cooltrainers. If you have screens to prove it, add a section, but write it encyclopedically. Not as a story that happened to you, but neutrally so that anyone who's encountered similar can add to the topic... Y'know? And sign your name next time, dude. I would add images and such...if only I knew how to get good quality ones. I have a printer/copier/scanner hooked up to my computer, but I'm not sure how to get it so that only the gameplay image comes up, and not any of the background (such as the gameboy itself, my hands, the room, etc.). If you could e-mail me or somehow send me this information, I would be more than happy to put up images and whatnot.(E-mail: name_unknown000@hotmail.com) --MrMcMan 7:22pm(Central Time) November 15, 2006

u66865rue45
"u66865rue45" does not seem to be a glitch that can be caught with any specific method -- the website proving its existance, http://www.trsrockin.com/linkcable.html, only states its name and nothing else, and states no constant method of obtaining it -- unlike glitches such as Z4, X - x, and LM4, which can all be found with the Mew glitch. u66865rue45 probably does exist, and there probably is a way to find it, but until that method can be stated, it should not be mentioned. Also, on the source website, other glitches with long unreadable names are mentioned, meaning that this glitch is probably a random result of a link cable being pulled. (Also, person on the source website who states the glitch "u66865rue45" isn't even sure that's the right name). Latitude0116 01:48, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
This 'glitch pokemon' has no index number and is most likely a graphical error or one to do with the interface, for example if the game thinks that you are on the map screen when you are battle the HP bar sprite will be translated to a character with the same index number, so when you hit the pokemon you may notice something like that. A similar story though if you are interested, on Pokemon gold when about to talk to elite four koga I accidentally shifted the cartridge, the game must have been confused and displayed the legitimate message in a glitchy font of heads and faces.
--Chickasaurus 13:24, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
It could have been found using the fire spin glitch (a method for it is somewhere on the GCL forums). OwnageMuch 08:03, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Another glitch town
My friend told about this and im not sure if it is true or not... When you play, stop in the town where you get the skill to use cut outside battles. Then DO NOT GO TO THE SHIP TO GET THE CUT. Instead, trade a pokemon with cut from a friend's game. Continue on playing the game until you acquire surf, and are able to use it outside battle. Go back to the town where the ship is. access the ship pier, but DO NOT GET IN TO THE SHIP. Instead, when you are on the pier, with the door to ship down from you, surf left from the pier. Surf on, until you see a town.
That's it. all that I know about it. I would be happy if someone would test this out for me.

i am the owner of that smeargle, and every time i try to look at its summary it does that, if use it in battle (against a pokemon trainer) if i choose attack then press b then go to items and use any type of poke ball it will catch there pokemon and go to the pokedex, but once it asks for a nickname it freezes with the same pink screen wih a safari ball in the middle. User:X3ni92
i don't have an action replay o.o User:X3ni92
- Oh. Weird. Because you said uh, that you could catch trainer's Pokémon. Then jeez, something is seriously screwed up with that Smeargle. ティナ☆♫ 02:53, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
i don't know whats wrong with it :/ i have a weird Unknown too, it has other moves then Hidden Power it got these moves (smeargle got the virus/glitch) after i traded them from Pokemon XD User:X3ni92
- Maybe something happened on the XD data on the Memory Card, so it screws up Pokémon data and such. Maybe you should try trading over another Pokémon from XD, and if that Pokémon is awkward too, then I think something's up with your GC→GBA link cable or your XD data. ティナ☆♫ 03:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
i did that with Houndour and Totodile and they work fine and evolved fine too. User:X3ni92

- Probably just your game, methinks. Not really notable enough, or considered a seperate glitch that could work on a bunch of different carts. Tina☆♫ 02:58, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
okay.

FRLG Glitch
One time (i forget the date, but it was sometime last week or this week) I loaded my Fire Red while i was in the Pokémon Center, and The entire thing was all glitched up. There were invisible walls everywhere, and the Center was enlongated. However, besides that, everything still worked as normal. I know it was the first time I had played it in a while, and when I left the center, everything was normal. Now that I think about it, it could have been Ruby or Sapphire. Fence glitch
Very similar to the hill glitch and occurs in Ruby, Sapphire, and I think Emerald. In route 121- west of Lilycove- there is a man by a small collection of fences. Two steps directly below him is an item, but the fence is between him and the item. He's looking around, sometimes looking down. If you collect the item then stand where the item was, the man will see you and approach you- STANDING ON THE FENCE. This has happenned to me and I sufferred no ill effects. This only works the fisrt time you battle him, of course. Can this be added? Kiryu 22:34, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

GSC Mail and Battle House glitches
I realize that I'm posting a lot here, but I was playing my friend's Crystal version and tried to put mail in the box. It said the mailbox was full, so I went to the PC, and all of the "mail" in there was a bunch of radom question marks, something like this: ??? ? ????? ??? and so on. I tried taking the mail out and it seemed I succeeded, but it didn't show up in the bag and there was still no space. So I tried removing it all. Again, it seemed I was succeeding until I got about halfway through, then the game froze. Another time I went to the Battle House in Viridian City and my only opponent was a triner with a level 0 Typhlosion, and whenever I selected an action, no matter if it was "Run" or "Fight" or whatever, the game would freeze. Glitches not working?
On Pokemon Red and Yellow, I tried the glitch stating that if you evolve your starter pokemon before you get your Pokedex, that the game won't let you progress, and it didn't work. I got my pokedex, and it had Charmander and Charmeleon in it, and I was able to move along just fine. Something needs to be done...there is either more to this glitch which should be included, or it should be removed for being false.
Also, on Yellow, I visited the Celadon City hotel which resembles a pokemon center as mentioned, and there was no invisible PC anywhere, so again, this needs to be changed or removed for being false. Mortem 23:20, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- Please place new comments on the bottom of the page, thank you. As for the Invisible PC, that was removed it Yellow, as far as I know. The Dark Fiddler - Nos hablamos? 23:22, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I just thought the top seemed to be the logical place to place new stuff...but that's besides the point. I hadn't gotten that far on red/blue to test it out on there. What of the starter glitch? Do you need to evolve the pokemon twice or what? If that "preventing progress" does exist, it needs to be reworded, because it is not true as it is currently written. Sticky hold glitch
I'm surprised this one is missing. It only occurs very rarely, but it's really fun to look at when it does occur. As far as I know it doesn't exist in DPPt, and was introduced in RSE. It has two forms, a wild battle form, and a vs. battle form
For the wild battle form, just KO wild Grimers with covet. It happens rarely but sometimes wild Grimers hold nugget items. Also half the time they have sticky hold, half the time they have stench. If your pokemon KOs the Grimer with covet and had the opportunity to steal a nugget, but was denied the steal because of Sticky Hold, the sprite for the grimer does not disappear from the screen when the grimer faints.
For the Vs. battle form you need: two RSE games/GBAs, a weak pokemon with the "sticky hold" ability(a low lever Grimer is probably best), in the other game Step 1: Set up a team where the first pokemon has the "Sticky hold" ability, and an item. (preferably a very low level one as it needs to get KOed by covet for the glitch to work, I used a L13 Grimer) Step 2: double check to make sure you have a secret base setup somewhere the second game can access it. Step 3: record swap so that the second game can battle against the team including Grimer. Step 4: KO the Grimer with covet.
When it faints another pokemon will appear on the screen, but the game will still draw the Grimer sprite on top of it using the pallette from the pokemon that is actually battling. the Grimer sprite will remain in place until you switch to something other than the battle screen. - unsigned comment from Marhawkman (talk • contribs)

Graphical glitch?
Well, I was playing Pokémon Platinum, and when I was in the 2nd floor of the Ribbon Syndicate and I saw a graphical glitch. Fishing
I just encountered a weird graphical glitch in DP. You can fish on the tiles with swimmers on them. It doesn't matter if they move around or not. But, since it's so pointless, I don't know if it should be added.--Gou 23:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Is there anywhere that says about that glitch in RBY where if you use cut and turn the game off the tree comes back on top of you? If so, this glitch should be in the same place. Mattiuscn 17:09, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
- Gou: I don't think that's a glitch at all - the game is coded to allow fishing if there's a water tile directly infront of the player. I don't think it's supposed to matter if there's something else on the tile as well. Ignoring real-world principles of personal space invasion, it's perfectly possible that the player is fishing very close to the swimmer. It theoretically would turn into a 4th generation Pokemon if you decided to transfer a Pokemon with an index number over 386 but below 494 however on all cases the game gives a short message and refuses you from transferring it. I tried transferring a Unown with a safari ball, it wouldn't let me but as soon as I took it off the Unown I could transfer it. --Chickasaurus 13:12, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

- Me too, but there are various videos on Youtube. I'm not an expert, though. Apparently it can be done in more places than just Viridian Forest. —darklordtrom 08:50, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
No, this is true! Basically you perform the method 3 of the mew trick. The mew/other pokemon usually appears at level 7 but if you use growl six times on the enemy pokemon it will make the pokemon you encounter level 1 (because the byte depends on how many boosts/drops the attack stat has gained, it begins at 7 and goes up to 13 or down to 1)
After obtaining a level 1 mew or a third stage evolution Pokemon there is a bug in the algorithm where the game presumes there is a negative number of experience to level 2 (displayed as a very large number). Therefore upon levelling that pokemon it will skip to level 100. --Chickasaurus 13:16, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I just tested, and it DOES work in the US version of Yellow. However, it does NOT work in Red/Blue because none of the trainers in Viridian Forest (or anywhere before Cerulean for that matter) challenge you just as they appear on the edge of the screen. I also changed the "Growl level-1 times" to "Growl 6 times." For me, using Growl level-1 times always resulted in level 4 or 5 Pokémon, which don't jump to 100. Meeting Pidgeys and Rattatas (and always Growling 6 times) gave me level 1 Voltorbs and Nidokings, respectively.
Since it's a relatively complex glitch, and hard to follow along reading the long paragraph of instructions, it might do better as a numbered step-by-step list. --Chupi 09:18, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- The Rocket in Mt. Moon (Red/Blue) who says "we're pulling a big job here" works. However, you'll either need to beat a trainer afterward (as in the Mew glitch), or use the Brock skip glitch so you can still use the guy who walks you to Pewter Gym. --Chupi 22:58, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, growl 6 times. You also have to get a very low amount of exp to get from level 1 to level 100 though. OwnageMuch 23:59, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

It was fine for about a year but then everytime i sent it into a battle the screen would fill with question marks and it would be really difficult to be able to do anything, but if i attacked the screen would return to normal and my raikiou would be invincible for three battles (damage was instantly healed) and all its attacks were one hit k.o.s then after three battles the game would freeze. i have since restarted my crystal to replay it because of HG and SS so i cant get any pictures, but this really did happen. i'm not sure why but the raikiou was named either ?, ??? or a full name bar of ?s. did anyone else ever experience this? - unsigned comment from The hugarh (talk • contribs)

Emerald and reliable cloning
It's possible that the sentence describing Gen II as having the most reliable cloning glitch is very old, maybe even pre-dating the discovery of the Emerald glitch. Nonetheless, I'd have to rank Emerald's as being the most reliable cloning glitch in the history of the games, in that it doesn't require any sense of timing whatsoever, making it nigh-impossible to mess up. I have a Monster Brain which shows the GS Ball in Crystal (English version). I have tried that and the Teru-sama in the corresponding slot of Gold (English version) and neither work. Wikipedia has stated that the GS Ball will never work in the English version of Crystal because the routines required for the event were left out of all non-Japanese language versions. Unfortunately, they have watered-down their Pokémon entries so much they only state that it cannot be caught, but not why. I have just confirmed this one last time. What do the hackers hack? ROMs? If it only works in ROMs, say so. ROMs should not count anyway. White Phoenix 07:11, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
The Pokémon Communication Center stuff was removed, and that's where the GS Ball was available from in Japan. However most of the rest of it remains. I've used a GameShark code to obtain the GS Ball, then another one to get Kurt to take it. The next day, he gives it back to you, and you can take it to the shrine in Ilex Forest and catch a Celebi.
The Communication Center was removed because it required the GBC to be connected to a smart phone, which weren't so common with kids in the US in 2001. The one-time event that gave you the GS Ball in Japan also activated Kurt accepting the ball, hence the requirement of 2 GameShark codes. The only routines that were removed were in the Comm Center. --Chupi 05:15, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Box Trick and Other Missing Glitches
Shouldn’t the box trick from the first two generations be included? It doesn’t seem that the programmers intended the stats to be manipulated, only recreated to avoid storing the stats for each pokémon in the boxes.
I have a list of glitches, tips and tricks that I have collected. Here is a list of the confirmed glitches not listed in this article and the sources if I had them. (When I first started collecting I didn’t write down the source.) Some of these were extremely long, so I edited them. Details available upon request.
Mew Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (en.wikipedia.org) [I cannot find the paragraph now. It was either moved or deleted.] It is also possible to get a mew in the Pokémon game, without intending to capture one. In several instances, in the trade center of a PokéCenter, trades have glitched and a mew was spawned from the chaos, as well as a pidgeot. In five instances, a machoke was traded for a graveler, and five times, a mew and a pidgeot were spawned. The graveler and machoke were deleted however. [Note that the glitch is that two pokémon were downloaded instead of one.]
Alternate Pokémon Colors [The precursors of shiny pokémon? –Editor] (Stadium) If you nickname your pokémon in the Game Boy game and bring it into Stadium, it will have changed color depending on what you nicknamed it! Possibilities range from an orange pikachu to a sea green tentacruel.
These are not shiny pokémon, because shiny pokémon were not invented when Stadium was released. [However, it may have given Nintendo ideas to do it deliberately. –Editor]
Mew Warning (Stadium) (unconfirmed, but worth noting in case it is true) Do not trade a mew level 10 or higher in the trading mode in Stadium. It will glitch the game, and if you want your data back, you must call Nintendo (1-800-225-3700) to fix it.
Cloning Items While cloning pokémon from Generation 2 and later, the items the pokémon are holding are cloned as well. If the user is interested in cloning items only, they would use useless/common pokémon like pidgeys, rattatas or weedles.
Easy Gifts and Battles Obtain several phone numbers, then go to your house and tell your mom to switch on or off daylight savings. Your phone friends will give you calls almost immediately, and you will get to fight them or receive gifts.
Unlimited Mystery Gifts This occurs since the programmers did not foresee a problem. The user capitalizes on the resetting of the clock to trick the game into allowing mystery gift trades more frequently than once a day per friend.

56 ERROR
I found a sixth error, I can reproduce this by using the Ditto Trick on my Pokémon Blue cartridge to fight a trainer (eg Blaine), and defeating their Pokémon. Instead of the text for winning it quickly displays 56 ERROR and then gives you your winnings. OwnageMuch 02:57, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I should have explained more fully. The Ditto trick is a variation of the Mew Glitch which is performed simliarly. First, fly away from the trainer, as in the Mew glitch. Second, battle any trainer, making sure they have to walk to you. However the next part is different. You must now get a pokemon with a certain special stat. Each possible special stat up to 255 (after which it rolls over, 256 = 0, 257 = 1 etc.) corresponds to a different pokémon or possibly even a trainer (very high numbers) depending on it's hexadecimal value. Have that pokemon in your first party slot. Now find a wild Ditto. Use an item such as X accuracy or X speed so that ditto will transform into your Pokémon. After Ditto has transformed, defeat it normally. DO NOT GET INTO ANY BATTLES AFTER. Then, go to the spot where you would normally be getting Mew to appear. The start menu pops up as normal and when you exit, battle will resume. This glitch can be used to find glitch pokemon and trainers. Trainers may not have their usual pokémon, for example Bruno could have Blaine's team. I hope this helped. OwnageMuch 22:28, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Fire Spin Glitch
I found information about a Generation I Fire spin glitch that occurs in link battles. It is complicated but you can find information about it on the gltich city labs forums. OwnageMuch 03:00, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Small, Random Glitch Pokemon
While messing around with the 'make any pokemon appear' code on a gameboy color game, I discovered that by putting in random, two-digit letters and numbers (ex. hex code is: 01xx1ED1. xx=LETTERNUMBER, such as E4 or 4E), several similar glitch pokemon appear. The glitch pokemon have the name of one pokemon, but the sprite of another. They sometimes make the letters glitchy and when you press 'a' to read more text or when any pokemon in the battle attacks, several random sounds begin playing.
Just a small discovery I made. Is it worth mentioning anywhere? Or is the method to actually see these glitch pokemon too random and unpredictabe? --雨 23:06, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Which game? Anyway sounds interesting and I'm sure it oculd be incorporated into the article if we knew what generation section to put it in. Was Gameboy color meaning gold, silver, crystal, red blue or yellow? OwnageMuch 03:28, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- If it was Gold/Silver/Crystal then possibly, but if it was Red/Blue/Yellow then no. --SnorlaxMonster 05:17, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
The game was red/blue. I'll try and find some pictures.--雨 12:19, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- I thought current policy was not to include glitch Pokémon that are only available through modifying the game data. --AndyPKMN 13:14, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
If that's so, Andy, I'm sorry, I didn't know. But that would make sense, I wondered about that too. --雨 21:21, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry Andy, I thought that was for creating articles.. silly me. OwnageMuch 22:43, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
R/B Errors
This section is so wrong I don't know where to begin. The screenshot of the "59 error" clearly shows "5 ERROR" (i.e. code 5), just with some random crap before it. The table even says the two are the same, just with 59 having crap before it.
This doesn't make a lick of sense:
- Mixed errors usually generated when the game mixes three or more errors, and instead of using standard error codes, the game looks in the other character folders and may use letters or other symbols for the error code. This may crash or freeze the game.
Folders? There are no folders. Perhaps they meant to say the game displays gibberish in place of an error message, or doesn't correctly load the text graphics first? I've never seen such a case. HyperHacker 03:33, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Firered/Leafgreen Suicune (Minor) Glitch
Evidently all Suicune from said games have extremely low (though legal) iv stats. I noticed that they were all at zero or single digit values after catching it a number of times. And yes, I did make sure that I was catching it without a previous encounter (in which presumably the IV's would have been fixed). A google search indicates that this is a known glitch. Is this significant enough for inclusion?--Gsnipe 04:07, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
The IV's for the three dogs are set when you start the game (Eg. if you wanted another IV set you would have to start a new game). This also goes for nature, shininess etc. OwnageMuch 05:16, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I've played through FR twice and gotten improbably low IVs both times on Suicune. I'd still attribute this to bad luck if not for this thread at GameSpot: http://www.gamespot.com/ds/rpg/pokemondiamond/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-42723270&pid=925601
- Looks like there's a post about this on Smogon too. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45644--Gsnipe 15:24, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- It's not just Suicune. See my answer below for more info. ~ HackMew 15:14, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Egg Hatching Glitch
I just encountered a somewhat odd glitch. I traded over a Shinx egg from my Pearl to my Platinum to hatch it. I had already hatched it on my Pearl (without saving) so I knew how many steps it would take to hatch it, roughly. It was a lot. Yet, I went downstairs and outside and within two to three more steps (19 total steps), it hatched. I reset and put the Egg in the PC and withdrew it, it had the correct steps to hatch. If anyone asks, yes I can repeat the glitch. No, I do not use an AR or any cheating devices.--Gou 19:29, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- More on it. Apparently, withdrawing it from the same PC doesn't work for some reason. To get the right steps, I had to withdraw it from another PC or leave the map and come back. Go figure.--Gou 19:32, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Did you have any Pokémon with Magma Armor or Flame Body in either of your parties? If not, it may not even be a glitch, but an Easter egg (no pun intended), so that traded eggs hatch faster. --SnorlaxMonster 01:23, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- ...I use that all the time. But, no. I had just restarted my Platinum, so all that was in my party was my Turtwig. And I also didn't have one at the time in my Pearl game. Also, it wasn't half the steps. It hatched after 19 steps compared to the normal roughly 100 steps. And I've traded enough eggs to know that it doesn't affect hatch steps.--Gou 04:33, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

It's normal. The egg rilies on a counter that is lowered every time a certain number of steps is done. When the counter reaches 0, egg hatches. Different Pokémon have different starting numbers (That's why Magikarp hatches fast whereas say Chimchar doesn't).
When you do a soft reset I would say that the number of steps required to lower the counter is reset to max. That's why the first time it took only 19 steps.
I hope this helps. OwnageMuch 06:44, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- If that was the problem, then it would have been reset to max after trading. It also would've hatched after 19 steps on my Pearl version, which it didn't.--Gou 17:53, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Platinum, Poké Ball, Blue?
On my Platinum version, a normal Poké Ball works really well on Pokémon that are mostly colored blue. I caught Dialga at lv. 70 witha regular Poké Ball. I caught Azelf and Regice with one as well. Granyed, I have the earliest release of Platinum in the US, but why does this happen? ~ L.S.B.
- Just a coincidence for you. Poké Balls do not work better on blue Pokémon. Tyro 18:45, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Glitched IV's for Roaming Legendaries?
So, after Playing through FireRed a couple times and noticing that Suicune's IV's were abnormally low (as in, 0's in 4 stats and single digit for the rest), I tried grabbing a Raikou. It had abysmal IV's as well. Then I noticed a Latias I caught from Sapphire had IV's that were just like the Beasts, with 4-5 zeros. Google has turned up a few discussion board posts claiming that all Roaming Legendaries in the third generation games have the same problem, with the exception of Emerald. But beyond that I haven't found anything solid. Can anyone clear this up? - unsigned comment from Gsnipe (talk • contribs)
I'm pretty sure because of the way those game works some IV sets are not possible for legendary Pokémon, when combined with other things such as a nature you want, you most likely will get lower IV's. This is not exactly a glitch, it is just the game's psuedo-random number generators are terrible in Gen III. OwnageMuch 03:10, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Nope... it's possible to get good natures/IVs on Gen III, just like any other game. However, FRLG has a particular error in the coding that prevents the roaming beasts from having any IVs over like... uuuuuh 11 or so? Something like that. I think it should be added, personally... ▫▪Ťïňắ ♫♥ 03:26, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the glitch affects all roaming legendaries in all 3rd gen. games except Emerald where it got fixed. This means Latios in Ruby, Latias in Sapphire and Raikou/Entei/Suicune in FR/LG. The glitched IVs are the result of a buggy code: only 8 out of 30 bits will be saved in the wild data upon meeting the Pokémon. This means only the HP IV will be stored correctly along with the first 3 bits of the Attack stat. The rest will be set to 0. While the IVs are stored the wrong way, the IVs are still stored correctly into a special, reserved RAM area. This means with a bit of effort and patience, one could theorically recover the proper IVs and manually fix his/her roaming Pokémon. If anyone needs more technical data, feel free to ask. ~ HackMew 15:09, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Poké Ball spin glitch
I came across this by accident. Someone already mentioned it, and I hid it until proven. Does this prove it? --SnorlaxMonster 12:40, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
List of glitches
I dislike it. It also means that it has to be updated every time anything is added to list of minor glitches. I suggest that either we make list of minor glitches into list of glitches and just link to that from here, or remove the minor glitches section and direct reads to list of minor glitches. Thoughts? --SnorlaxMonster 07:46, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
My post
I just noticed my Post on a glitch was deleted when I actually had proof that it exists. Why was this? Lunyka 05:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
And someone moved it down here, Well I hope it isn't spam being down here but I posted about the 731 glitch and some proof that it might actually exist and it just disappeared. - unsigned comment from Lunyka (talk • contribs)
- I moved it down here because that's how talk pages work here. New comments/subjects go to the bottom. And it disappeared because someone deleted it, because they probably considered it to be fake and spam.--Pokélova! 05:59, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
greenman
I used an action replay code and now the Green Man wont leave the Pokemart when i talk to him he says oops and wont go away.
