Starly (Japanese: ムックル Mukkuru) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves into Staravia starting at level 14 and then into Staraptor starting at level 34.
Biology
Physiology
Starly is a bird with a brownish-gray colored body. The lower half of its wings as well as its head are black. Its face looks like it is wearing a white mask, with black eyes with white pupils as well as a thin orange beak with the tip of it painted black. On its chest is a white spot. Starly's feet are orange and also has three tailfeathers: two black and one white in the middle.
Gender differences
The white spot on a female's forehead is smaller.
Special abilities
Although small, they are described to flap their wings with great power.
Starly appears to have keen vision, as it possesses the ability Keen Eye, where its vision can't be marred whatsoever by any force.
Behavior
Starly are very complacent Pokémon, like most Template:Type2s. Cool and calm at nearly all times, they are also very sociable creatures, although they may bicker if their group becomes too big. Starly's calls are known to be very strident.
Habitat
Starly live in forests, indicating that they make nests in the trees like common Birds. despite this, they are more often found in the grassy roads near small towns that aren't very big. they have territory's, but not as large as there evolved forms'
Diet

Starly appears to have an affinity with the Yache Berry, as it is occasionally found with it. Starly has also been depicted to consume the acorn-like berries growing on the bushes of Grotle.
In the anime
Major appearances
Continuing his Template:Type2 Pokémon tradition, Ash captured a Starly in Two Degrees of Separation. He used it to find Pikachu and it was then used to pop Team Rocket's balloon until it evolved in A Staravia is Born.
Other
Starly made its first animated appearance in Following A Maiden's Voyage!, with one being examined at Professor Rowan's lab.
Paul captured three Starly in When Pokémon Worlds Collide. The first two were released because they didn't know Aerial Ace; although the third could use the move and easily beat Ash's Starly, Paul still deemed it weak and released it as well in When Pokémon Worlds Collide!.
Minor appearances
Brock healed a wild Starly in One Big Happiny Family!.
Starly was also seen under Reggie's care in Lost Leader Strategy!.
A Starly appeared in The Lonely Snover!. Another Starly appeared in Sliding Into Seventh!.
Starly appeared in Zoroark: Master of Illusions as a few of the many local Pokémon who lives in Crown City. A flock of them worked with the other Pokémon in surrounding Zorua in the park to attack him, angry at Zorua for what Zoroark did to the city. Before a fight broke out, the Starly, along with the other Pokémon, were calmed by Celebi.
A Starly made a brief cameo in SS024, outside Professor Rowan's lab.
