Dawn's Pachirisu (Japanese: ヒカリのパチリス Hikari's Pachirisu) was the second Pokémon captured by Dawn, and her third Pokémon overall.
History
Sinnoh
Dawn captured Pachirisu in Twice Smitten, Once Shy, where it was shown to have a very hyperactive and mischievous personality. Dawn had much trouble catching it, having to accept help from Ash and his Pokémon. Dawn was looking forward to using it in Contests, but due to its behavior and her inability to control it, Dawn felt that she had failed Pachirisu as a Trainer and released it. However, she soon realized her mistake and went back to get it, only to find that Jessie also wanted it. Team Rocket grabbed Pachirisu and took it away, but Pachirisu managed to defeat Team Rocket with a powerful Discharge attack and Dawn recaptured it, willing to give it another chance.
At the beginning, Pachirisu had difficulty in controlling its electric moves and often used Discharge to give Dawn a bad hair day. However, after some training with Dawn, it was gradually able to use them effectively and has stopped ruining Dawn's hair. This new control was seen in its first Contest, where it was used in the appeal round of the Floaroma Contest. It earned Dawn a place in the battle rounds. It was also used in the Hearthome Contest double appeal rounds with Piplup. However, this time Dawn was not able to make it past the appeal round.
Pachirisu became ill in Doc Brock! from storing too much electricity, similar to Pikachu did in Get the Show on the Road, but it soon recovered with the help of Ash, Dawn, Brock and the rest of their team of Pokémon.
Pachirisu loves Poffins and once started a rivalry with Ursula's Gabite because the Dragon-type Pokémon had stepped on its Poffin. It avenged its Poffin's memory by defeating Gabite in the final round of the Chocovine Town Contest with its newly learned Super Fang. This also gave Dawn her fourth Ribbon.
In Strategy Begins at Home!, it battled alongside Piplup against Johanna's Glameow and Umbreon. However, it was defeated by Johanna's powerful strategy.
Pachirisu appears to have a fear of ice, as seen in Double-Time Battle Training!, where it was temporarily paired up with Dawn's Mamoswine in order to make a Double Performance using its Discharge and Mamoswine's Ice Shard but failed in making it work due to its fear.
In Regaining the Home Advantage!, Dawn used Pachirisu to lead a Metagross and a Magnezone that were fighting away from the town that was feeling the wrath of their battle.
In Teaching The Student Teacher!, Dawn perfects a new combination move called Ice Chandelier with the help of her Pachirisu and Buneary. Pachirisu used Discharge while running around inside an ice globe created with the help of Buneary's Ice Beam which resulted in a new beautiful combination move.
In Opposites Interact!, along with Mamoswine, it once again faced Ursula's Gabite as well as her new Flareon. Although Mamoswine and Pachirisu were very nearly defeated, they got Dawn her third victory over Ursula with the help of their Ice Chandelier move.
Pachirisu appeared again in SS024 to help fight off the Ariados that were attacking Dawn. Pachirisu was caught in String Shot and helpless until Quilava saved it.
Unova
In BW086, Pachirisu was introduced to Ash, Iris and Cilan's Pokémon. It excitedly approached the group and kicked Ash's Oshawott's scalchop away due to it's curiosity.

Moves improvised
- Discharged Whirlpool has two variations one is were Piplup uses Whirlpool above Pachirisu and Pachirisu uses Discharge. The other is when Piplup uses Whirlpool and Pachirisu jumps on top of it and uses Discharge causing the moves to join and fuse with water and electrical energy.
- Sweet Kiss-Bubble Beam was used in Dawn's Early Night! First Pachirisu uses Sweet Kiss, and then Piplup uses BubbleBeam and the two moves combine making the hearts go inside the bubbles.
- Spin used in Another One Gabites the Dust! Pachirisu spins around the opponent.
- Plan A used in Strategy Begins at Home! Piplup uses BubbleBeam towards the ground, the bubbles build into a wall of bubbles and Pachirisu jumps up from the top and uses Super Fang.
- Electrified Take Down used in Opposites Interact! Pachirisu uses Discharges as front so it can also hit Mamoswine. Mamoswine then uses Take Down. Causing anything it hits to be hit with the power of the Discharge as well the power of the Take Down.
- Ice Chandelier is a combination that was created by Buneary and Pachirisu when they were training with Dawn in Teaching The Student Teacher!. It involves Buneary using Ice Beam around Pachirisu, trapping it in a ball of ice. The move also works with Mamoswine's Ice Shard, as first seen in the same episode; however, this was only successfully pulled off the first time in Opposites Interact!. Pachirisu then runs around in the ball while using Discharge. The end result is a chandelier of ice that glows in a beautiful blue hue. Pachirisu can run inside the chandelier to hit foes. Using AncientPower on it allows it to float while still under Pachirisu's control while Hidden Power adds power to the combination. This combination may have been based on the failed combination tried by Dawn in Double-Time Battle Training!, the one that eventually lead to the Flame Ice combo.
