(Japanese: ジュニアカップ開幕！カイリューVSツンベアー！！ The Junior Cup Gets Underway! Kairyu VS Tunbear!!) is the 90th episode of the Best Wishes series, and the 747th episode of the Pokémon anime. It aired in Japan on August 2, 2012.
Synopsis
Ash and his friends arrive in Lacunosa Town,with Ash, Cilan Iris and Dawn participating in Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. First, [[Ash] hears an conversation between Alder and Cynthia,with Alder asking Cynthia to have dinner with him after the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Cynthia disagrees, and Alder asks her out of a drink. Cynthia dislikes how desperate Alder is;then Ash interrupts the conversation, greeting Alder. Trip pops out, saying how Alder did not change from his old ways.Trip then declares that he is participating in the Tournament, will win the tournament and have a battle against Alder. Ash and his friends then continue walking to the building when Iris hears a familiar voice. She then realizes that it was Georgia, her long time rival. Georgia says that if they battle,she will be the winner. Cilan continues on, asking the gang to hurry up when Burgundy, Cilan's rival, shows up. She warns Cilan that she will be victorious if they do battle, similar to Georgia. After that, they walk on, with finally no more interruptions. They head inside the building, and the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup commences. The exhibition match starts with Cynthia and Caitlin battling. The match commences, with Cynthia sending out her Garchomp and Caitlin sending out her Gothitelle. The match ends with a draw. The competitors are drawed against each other; Iris versus Georgia, Trip versus Burgundy, Dawn versus Rikiō, Sugiura versus Cilan, Morishima versus Ash, Marafūji versus Kenta (Unova) and Shiozuki versus Akihiro. Ash, Dawn, Cilan,Trip, Marafūji and Akihiro advances. Iris's Dragonite, when using against Georgia disobeys Iris. Georgia's Beartic freezes Dragonite. Iris's Dragonite thaws out, and uses ThunderPunch on Beartic. Beartic is one-hit KOed by that, and Iris advances to the next round.
