your template has been put into use. -- MAGNEDETH 03:15, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Okey-dokey. ~ sol 03:17, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay

Dude, use the preview button. Also, how did my edit mess up the template? Every single one made after you reverted mine has screwed it up more and more. Look at it in I.ERexRacer 21:39, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Well I'm sorry that all browsers look at templates differently. I'm trying to make it for all browsers and when you edited it, the template failed on Firefox. And I have been using the preview button. I just realize that it might look better in another way after I've already pressed the Save page button. ~ sol 21:46, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
No worries, I was just wondering. Looks fine now.--RexRacer 21:50, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, seriously. I find it hard to this day to find things to do, and I'm four months old. Good for you! --Bulbapedian - Talk 23:35, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
It's true. We are in the middle of a lul, sort of. All that's going on is a general template update. I hope you stick around, I can see that you have a lot of potential. --RexRacer 23:39, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, well, I guess reading that welcome and watching the other users helped too. And I did know a bit of wikicode before joining Bulbapedia, so... ~ sol 23:40, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Thankyou

Thankyou Sol for welcoming me into the Bulbapedia community. I edit at Wikipedia, and thought that I'd give Bulbapedia a try, now that I am playing Pokemon Diamond alot. Thanks again! Dougie 00:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome! ;) Just remember to learn the general idea of things, such as link templates, policy, et cetera. It shouldn't be too hard to get settled! ~ sol 00:58, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Trainer cards

Add Japanese info as well, please. MaverickNate 03:19, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I actually have absolutely no idea about the TCG. I'm just fixing up the templates using the information already there so they don't look messed up. And I only find the messed up ones using the random page link to the side. ~ sol 03:22, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh, okay then. MaverickNate 03:29, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Look, dude

Learn to use the preview button, kay? You could've made all those edits on Archie in one. ~ overgrownsol 01:16, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

All right, Sol. I just felt really rushed because it looked so weird, and... yeah. D: ~ overgrownsol 01:17, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

...Me? I like to merge, so don't be startled it's on the bottom...anyway, the tidbits I told you...not that hard to follow. It only takes 2-3 more seconds to do. Pokédex linking, spacing, italics out of parentheses (though that one, if you don't want to, fine...). Just doing the levels...meh. Quality over quantity. ht14 04:14, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Whut? Er, uh, wrong section? D: And I must've forgotten to do that Dx ~ overgrownsol 04:16, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
You want me to move it? Fine...one moment please... ht14 04:19, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Pronuncikashun

we actually had the pronunciations added to some articles, straight from an official guide, but, there were so many arguments, the idea was scrapped. -- MAGNEDETH 05:54, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Romanizations

Please don't mess with them, be it Japanese, Chinese or Korean. As tempting as it is, the romanizations are used consistantly around the site, and changing one ruins this chain. Because Korean and Chinese are fairly isolated languages (i.e. not derived from another) their romanizations are, well, their own way of saying it. Because Japanese has a fair amount derived from English, we assume that when a Pokémon's name is Rizaadon, it is Lizardon, and Beiriifu is Bayleef. Thanks, --RexRacer 23:25, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

...I'm Korean. ~ overgrownsol 23:27, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
*facepalm* I know nothing about Korean. Japanese is my field...--RexRacer 23:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Rex = owned. -- MAGNEDETH 23:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Anyway, Chikorita and Meganium can back me up if there's anyone not convinced, as the Korean would say it differently than how it's romanized, but it would still sound the same. So, uh... yeah. ~ overgrownsol 23:36, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of Userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, ok? Thanks! --The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 21:31, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Templates

Um.... so there isn't a place to post about all templates so I thought I'd do it here.... Would it be possible to mock up an alternative with a style more similar to the {{Kanto}}? Trom liekz that one more than just moz-bordering the ones we already have. If you haven't the time, I can do it. — THE TROM — 23:42, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I did try and make {{Starter Pokémon}} and {{Legendary Pokémon}} like that, but it's hard to make those two look clean without having the titles at the top as well as the side, because it would have to be something like:
Kanto (Prof. Oak): Grass: Bulbasaur - Ivysaur - Venusaur Fire: Charmander - Charmeleon - Charizard Water: Squirtle - Wartortle - Blastoise
And doing separate rows for Pokémon Yellow and all that stuff would just make the template look lo~ong.
As for {{Animecharacters}}, I think I like that format better than what it would be if it was done in a {{Kanto}} format, so I just mozbordered that. However, if more people like the {{Kanto}} format over how it is currently, then I'll format it that way and see what happens. ~ overgrownsol 23:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Hmm.... I'll give {{starter Pokémon}} a go... I'm not entirely sure the type distinctions need to be there. Also, the PMD3 starters need to be included as well. That could make the template quite fat... As for animecharacters, there are some designs on the talk page. Anyway, good work. — THE TROM — 00:01, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Bleargh, the versions of Animecharacters look, well... I don't know. The supporting cast section looks fat, to put it bluntly. But then, it's not the newest version, so I suppose it might look better in that version. I'll see what I can about doing the PMD3 starters. ~ overgrownsol 00:06, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, as you can see I did try, but by the time I remembered that you don't need the alignment or the pipe my computer had crashed again. I updated the other template with our compromise if you hadn't noticed yet. — THE TROM — 05:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I noticed. :) Now that both of those are settled, there's only... *counts on fingers* Er, I'm going to need more fingers. ~ overgrownsol 05:42, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I wasn't sure what template to use to link to Ash's Swellow. Thanks for fixing that for me. AUXIA (talk) 01:20, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Why can't I put that information on the page, isn't it good enough, some people might want to know that Bulbasaur used a move that it shouldn't have been able to use :( (And why did she^ copy my user name)--Pokemonguy1 01:48, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

First of all, you kinda should've used a link template. "Anime" is a redirect to Pokémon anime, and is left uncapitalized. Secondly, you phrased them in a way that would fit more in the "In the anime" section rather than the "Trivia" section, aside from Whirlwind, which was still poorly phrased anyway. Thirdly, how the heck am I supposed to know why you two have the same username? ~ overgrownsol 01:54, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

We have a problem.

Alright. First question. Do you have any relation to SpontaneousCombusken/EspeonA? Answer that and we'll go from there. --ニョロトノ666 02:48, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Er... I think I've seen the name before, but there's no relation at all. ~ overgrownsol 02:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, I hate to say it, but that's almost definitely a lie. See, I can see your IP address. And yours matches his exactly. Which means you're using the same internet. Are you sure you have no connection to him? --ニョロトノ666 02:55, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
I remember where I saw the name before. The top contributors of the month.
Anyway, about the same internet thing... since my brother uses the same internet, he could be EspeonA... He never tells me what he does on the computer anyway. ~ overgrownsol 02:58, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Poli, just give it up. There is a difference between sockpuppets and two people having the same IP. Both of these editors are fantastic, and you want to get them in trouble. Why is that? Neither of them have ever done anything bad, so what's the problem that they had the same IP before? I've edited at school before, and someone else has too. Does that mean that we are sockpuppeting? Hell, no! You have your nose buried so far in the rules, that you can't even enforce them well anymore. Its obvious that these two haven't done anything wrong, so why try to make something out of nothing? MaverickNate 03:14, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Nate, having the same IP address = family, neighborly internet mooching, or sockpuppeting. No other explanation. I've edited from school before, also, but Sol has made it pretty clear that that's not the case by his above comment regarding his brother. And Sol, would you mind asking your brother if he is, in fact, EspeonA? Thanks. --ニョロトノ666 02:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, got confirmation. I'm a little surprised that we would be on the same website and not know each other. But then, I can kinda understand why he wants his privacy. Anyway, he said that stopped editing here because of "certain issues," apparently. ~ overgrownsol 03:03, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Excuse me

Quotation marks actually USE space--KukiTalk 22:16, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

...you have anger issues. ~ overgrownsol 04:06, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey...

Your edits to the TCG are fine. Just slow down and do a favor? Add the origins while you're add it. It may slow you down, but it will limit many edits on the page. ht14 02:21, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm really not a TCG type of person. I just happen to come across articles that don't use the "level" variable using the random page link, and I just fix them so they use it. I guess I can try, but I hardly know TCG style anyway and I'm bound to forget to do it anyway. ~ overgrownsol 02:24, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
It's fine, but in general, double spacing: no. Italics ('') go outside the parentheses. Pokédex is linked. I'm not trying to lecture you, just some tidbits. I'm also not much of a TCG user, however, I add the game info. I just do the level thing as well, that's all. ht14 02:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
When did we start putting the italic marks outside the parenthesis? May I ask? MaverickNate 02:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing I started that...but it's accurate, isn't it...? ht14 02:40, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Maybe, I'll have to check. MaverickNate 02:41, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Sigh... ht14 02:42, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Yep. those marks are italic. Carry on. MaverickNate 02:44, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Yay. Bolded for you. ht14 04:19, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Final distraction...good work. I see you're coming along. Keep it up. ht14 04:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, next time, I'll ask before making changes...sigh... ht14 02:47, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry. I was just getting a little irritated at how many edits were being made to the pages. I can get over it now. MaverickNate 02:49, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey, sorry about the Amity Square thing. I should have used the preview button the first time. It's fine, I just really despise that article because it's really confusing to figure out. It's not entirely protected, just semi-protected, but I'm not exactly sure how that works. So, anyway, just make sure you've read the welcome message (that big green thing on your talk page) learn your wikicode, and follow the rules, and you'll be fine. ~ overgrownsol 05:50, 5 March 2009 (UTC) (P.S. Underground (Goldenrod)

May I ask what are you exactly trying??? --Theryguy512 22:17, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, I was going to try and see if it'll still be able to move back to Underground Path (Goldenrod), but I guess the redirect fixer got to it beforehand, but there would be no reason for me to move it back to (Underground Path (Goldenrod), so I left it as it is for the time being. ~ overgrownsol 22:19, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Well calling it the Underground makes it sound like it's like The Underground of Sinnoh, but under Goldenrod City. I suggest moving it back. --Theryguy512 22:22, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
If you didn't understand, I can't. Better contact a mod to delete the redirect so it can be moved back. And it doesn't make it sound like the Sinnoh Underground at all, in my opinion. ~ overgrownsol 22:24, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Shippingz

to quote you on that talk page

...people don't make a shipping just because one character shows affection to another character.
They make it because they truly believe that the two are or will be in a romantic relationship.

unfortunately, some people these days create shipping simply because they have nothing better to do than pair-up two random characters because thats what THEY want to see. the spirit of shipping is mostly just a myth these days and is almost entirely relegated to fangirl fantasies. -- MAGNEDETH 00:49, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, then, isn't that their belief? "That's what they want to see." Meaning that they want the characters to be in a relationship. Maybe I didn't phrase it clearly enough... Or I've misunderstood you. But, eh, it doesn't really matter. So... yeah. ~ overgrownsol 00:53, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
no, youre right. perhaps i wasnt clear enough. i mean that originally, shipping was created because a lot of people believed in it, but these days, only one person has to care, and they can seemingly create it. -- MAGNEDETH 01:08, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm not particularly good at adding information itself, and I can't do most of the things on that list. Pretty much the only thing I'm able to contribute to is a couple of game-related stuff, and even then it's going to take a while. Um, l2troll? Last time I checked, there is no "way to undo things properly". Sorry if my edit offended you at all, but I'm beginning to think the place I am getting my facts from is a lie. :P ☆X-Knight☆511♂ 23:26, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

There's an "Undo" link at the top of the page when viewing the last changes to a page. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:28, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that (hurrr), my summary was just too long to fit in the box. ☆X-Knight☆511♂ 23:30, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
You said that there's no "way to undo things properly", and I told you, so oh well. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:32, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Oops, sorry, I had almost forgot that reverting was some sort of game. Silly me! ☆X-Knight☆511♂ 23:35, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I didn't know you just cut out the normal edit summary thing. From here it just looks like you typed it all out Dx
Setting that aside, Metagross doesn't entirely seem like a spider. For one, it does not seem very spider-ish to begin with. Only four legs, and one body segment (spiders have two — cephalothorax and abdomen). So... must be the place you're getting your facts from. :x
And R. A. H. B., I'd like you to take a look at the message at the top, please. Just above the table of contents. ;D ~ platinumsol 23:36, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I admire organized users such as yourself, and I'm sorry for the big misunderstanding. Friends? ☆X-Knight☆511♂ 23:38, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
My bad. I normally don't notice things unless they're in bright colors. xP R.A. Hunter Blade 23:40, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
There, that should get people's attention.
@X-Knight: I don't normally make friends with people I just met, but we can be acquaintances. :) ~ platinumsol 23:45, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Oooooh. Colors... yeah. Sorry 'bout that. I'll hopefully remember. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Happy Bday!!

Hi!! happy burthday!! I hope you enjoy your day!! mmm hey... I noticed to "undid" my last "contribution" LOL but that's completely fine, see, I guess I didn't read it very well and though it wasn't right, so I changed it, but I was who wasn't right :P, so it's ok, my contributions aren't always right, but I try to do my best. I wasn't going to say anything about it but then I read today's your day and I was like " mmm ok! let's hello him and contragulated :P" ;D YukitoOoO 19:20, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes. Happy Birthday! R.A. Hunter Blade 20:34, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Happy birthday. --AT 20:40, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks everybody! :D ~ solaris 20:41, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
I was gonna make you a template with a cake on it, but then I remembered that there aren't any cake sprites I could use. Sorry. o~o R.A. Hunter Blade 21:12, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Stats are a game mechanism.

Stats have no bearing in people feeling distress from tackles and dog piles. The anime hardly even acknowledge there is even a such thing as stats. Its a game mechanism. Yami 17:41, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

But that doesn't mean that Pokémon can differ in their strengths and weaknesses. I was using the fact that Piloswine has a higher base Attack to represent that Piloswine's Tackle could be stronger than Grotle's. I'm not an idiot, you know. ~ solaris 17:54, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Stop edit-warring. Now. You wouldn't like it if an admin got involved. --Galladeon 17:59, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I love how people warn other people about edit-warring when it's hardly amounted to a war yet. I'd understand it if it was something like "oh, stop now because it's turning into an edit war", but really. ~ solaris 18:02, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Even if anime Pokémon don't have the same weight as their game counterparts, Piloswine is still 90.8 lbs away form Grotle. I doubt they'd differ so much that Dawn's Piloswine will weigh more then Grotle, or Grotle weigh drastically less then its game counterpart. Also stats depend on level. Yami 18:13, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Look, if you want to get technical about it, Tackle will most likely have nothing to do with weight. Tackle is made by a person or Pokémon running and colliding into the target. If it was something like Piloswine falling from the sky and causing more discomfort than Grotle, that would make sense, as if something heavy were on top of you it would hurt. Now, it's possible that if something heavy were to run into you, that would hurt as well, but not always. Grotle's weight might have slowed it down, making the Tackle hurt less than Piloswine, the same way a heavy thing going slowly will hurt less than a lighter thing moving quickly. Grotle might have been a bit weaker than Piloswine, which might've made it hurt less.
tl;dr: fail trivia. ~ solaris 18:19, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

One problem, you forgot to consider that even if Gortle's tackle was slower, him being on ash would still be more discomforting then Piloswine being on top. Its not just the tackle its having a pokemon practically standing ontop of ya. Yami 18:31, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

If you were talking about me saying that Piloswine was causing more discomfort than Grotle making more sense if it was on top of Ash, then I meant that the trivia would make more sense, not the thing itself would make more sense. ~ solaris 18:36, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
you made no sense just now.

You can't just remove trivia by trying to use stats as a justification.

Plus you sure change your tone on the game weights quick. You try to say that the weights might not even count in the anime, but MAGNEDETH seems to think it counts if he would use it in his edit on there. Plus you just edited his edit without trying to remove it for its use of game weight. Practice what you preach. Yami 18:42, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

If you missed my first message. I'm not using stats as a justification.
And, if you didn't notice: your trivia was pure fail.
And what the heck do you mean by "practice what you preach"? I'm not preaching anything. Unless you mean I'm "preaching" that you're trivia is pure fail and it should be removed, then I already am doing that.
So, in conclusion, kthxbai and stfo. ~ solaris 18:45, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Warning your breaching civility. You have no justification to remove the trivia. Even if it was stupid trivia, you need a better reasons for removing it then "That could have nothing to do with weight. i.e. Piloswine has a higher base Attack" Yami 18:49, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
...I gave you my justification. It's right there. Or did you fail to comprehend that? ~ solaris 18:51, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Yami is bitching complaining about you saying that weights may not be the same in the game and in the anime, but not worrying about it from MAGNEDETH. --Galladeon 19:01, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Just leave the weight thing in. If an admin wants it out, it will be deleted, but if not, it stays. --Galladeon 19:01, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Meh, I'm going to say that the conversation here is over, so I'll leave like five minutes in case someone wants to continue it before I archive. ~ solaris 19:03, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh yeah big man big man, run away. Yami 19:05, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
That completely proves how major fail you are fgsfds *archived* ~ solaris 19:08, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
