In the anime
Humilau City was first mentioned by Jervis in Goodbye, Junior Cup - Hello Adventure! as a suggestion for Cameron's eighth gym.
It made its only anime appearance in the latter part of The Road to Humilau!. Marlon brought Ash and Cameron here through his Wailord after the two got lost after separating from Cilan and Iris. At Humilau Gym, Cameron battled the Gym Leader for his eighth Gym Badge in Unova.
Trivia
- Humilau's Japanese motto is 表すは 穏やかな 海.
- On the face board featuring a pair of Frillish, the eyes of the male Frillish are incorrectly colored, being the inverse of what they should be.
- A Lady will say "This dress is comfy and easy to wear...", referencing Youngster Ben from Kanto Route 3 and his famous quote "Hi! I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!".
