Entries
The entries for each Pokémon are in an easy-to-read page setup. Each Pokémon has either an entire page to itself, or shares a page with another Pokémon. If a Pokémon has a Mega Evolution, it is listed immediately afterwards.
Name
Each entry is topped with a colored bar. These bars have the Pokémon's name, species name and regions they can be found in (either Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, or Kalos [Central, Coastal or Mountain]).
Stats
Each Pokémon has the following stats below its name:
- Type
- Description
- Pronunciation
- Height
- Weight
- Possible Moves (moves the Pokémon will learn by leveling up)
Image and other information
Each Pokémon has an anime-style picture on its page. Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are labelled as such and there is a glow around the Pokémon.
Evolution chain
At the very bottom of a Pokémon's entry is a diagram of its evolutionary family, including the Pokémon's Mega Evolution. Pokémon that do not evolve do not have an evolution chain. A Pokémon that is on one side of a branched evolution will show itself, and the Pokémon it evolved from, but not the other side of the branch.
Trivia
- Unown's exclamation and question mark forms are omitted, despite having existed years before the book was printed.
Errors
- Under Absol's possible moves, Detect is listed twice.
- Mega Audino's category is listed as the "Light Pokémon" (Ampharos's category), instead of the Hearing Pokémon.
- Donphan's type is listed as Normal, instead of Ground.
- Mega Lopunny's type is listed as Normal, instead of Normal/Fighting.
- Mega Lopunny's category is listed as the "Caring Pokémon" (Alomomola's category), instead of the Rabbit Pokémon.
- In edition printed in the United States, Reshiram's weight is listed as 6,727.5 lbs. rather than 727.5 lbs.
- In edition printed in the United States, Spearow's picture on page 354 shows Fearow instead. This does not occur in edition printed in Australia and was corrected in later reprints.
- Mega Sceptile's type omits the Dragon.
