Romanization

Landros.--444Zekrom 13:26, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

What about it? Do we have confirmation that that's the romanization? You need to explain what you're asking. --AndyPKMN 14:05, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Almost every page uses Landros, Voltros... etc.--444Zekrom 12:36, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
I had noticed this. But we should really decide on which one we're using before we change anything. I reckon it shouldn't be too long before we learn the official romanizations of every new Pokémon (besides event legendaries which haven't technically been revealed yet). So moving the page at this point in time might be counter-productive. --AndyPKMN 12:48, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
OK then. BUT JUST FOR THE TIME BEING. WE'LL SEE.--444Zekrom 04:50, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

A part of origin. Thor.

Landlos is thought that elements of various god mix.

It was noticed that the shape of the head looked like Hammer. Thor has Hammer and the connection. Thor has farming god's element. Isn't there element of Thor? [1] Sawamular101 18:52, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

The designer says that he or she imaged the god of the soil(土の神). My idea was a mistake. The source is Nintendo Dream vol.205. Sawamular101 02:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

False Trivia

Oobemu has a greater base Special Attack than Landlos.Psyco Josho 01:59, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

But it isn't a Ground type. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 02:01, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Whoops, my bad. Psyco Josho 02:03, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Sprites

Is it bad trivia to add that Landlos, Tornelos and Voltolos has almost exactly same sprites in the games? The only diffenences is some parts of its body and tails... I want to ask because it may just be waste trivia. --Mattii 19:00, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Coloration, Hairstyles, Horns, and Tail Designs are drastically different between the 3, plus each of them animate completely differently as well.

And on a side note, they each have different angles in their Sugimori Art and completely different poses in their Dream World Art. Shiramu Kuromu 22:39, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

This may be a name source for Landorus...

I think Landorus' name also comes from the cloud type cirrus.

Sacred Beast Form?

Ok, while on deviantART i saw a picture of Landorus in what was called sacred beast form. I did a google search with the term Landorus Sacred Beast form and found a article on poke-amph

[2]

Apparently the mysterious bird Pokémon silhouette from Pokédex 3D was Tornadus in its sacred beast form.

[3] [4]

So my question is the following, are these new forms official and real or are they bogus?

Yamitora1 21:39, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Yes, they are from real Corocoro scans.--Den Zen 21:46, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
So why is there no mention of the forms in the article(s) Yamitora1 21:59, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
The news has only just been revealed, and we don't know any details yet.--Pokélova! 22:48, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Physiology update to include both forms

Using Shaymin's Physiology entry for a template, I've come up with a decent entry to replace the old one and cover both of Landorus' forms

I tried to find what the official term for the new form was, but all I get is Sacred Beast, so that is what I'll be using. As for the decription of what kind of animal it resembles, I'm going with feline considering it's resemblance to a tiger. In feline anatomy, the biceps and triceps are different than in humans, so don't get confused when you read where the raindrop designs are.

In Keshin Forme, Landorus is an orange, muscular humanoid Pokémon, which resembles a genie. On his head are three, sharp, pink horns arranged in a slight, upwards arch on its forehead. Landorus has white, round and flat styled hair, a jagged white mustache and two pointed orange ears on either side of its head. His eyes are yellow with beady white irises and no visible pupils. The front of Landrus' body is covered in dark pink spots; most of them shaped like diamonds, pebbles and raindrops. His broad chest consists of two joined, dark pink diamond shaped pecks and his shoulders, elbows and navel are adorned with raindrop like designs. He has two spotted muscular arms, with five fingers on each hand. His lower body consists of a trailing cloud, with a long, curling, brown, branch or root-like tail. Landorus' tail has various flat protrusions running its span, each spotted in dark pink on their edge surface.

In Reijuu Forme, Landorus is a orange, lean, feline-like quadruped Pokémon. The horns on its head are now thinner and arranged closer together in a downwards arch. While its hair remains the same; the mustache now takes on a more fang-like appearance, curving around its head to behind its slightly smaller rounded ears. Its eyes remain yellow, but with larger irises which still lack visible pupils. Landorus' back and lower legs are stripped with dark pink, and its Biceps and Triceps adorned with dark pink upside down, raindrop like designs. It has four trailing cloud covered paws, each with three sharp dark pink claws. Its tail remains largely unchanged, although it may be slightly smaller and shorter then before.

Let me know if this is up to code, Since I can't edit the article could a staff member add the info? Yamitora1 22:36, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

We don't use the terms "Incarnate" and "Sacred Beast" Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 22:41, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Well I tried to find the real terms, but deviantART and every Tom Dick and Harry pokemon gossip site muddled up my google searches. What is the names for the forms? Yamitora1 22:43, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
We call them Keshin and Reijuu, for whatever reason. (They do translate to Incarnation and Sacred Beast, though) Ataro 22:45, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
The old formes are Keshin and the new formes are Reijuu. You can see them in the infobox as the caption of the images, and on the Bulbanews article. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 22:46, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Thank you both, i've fixed the names. Yamitora1 22:49, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Origin section Reijuu Forme update

Well since Shaymin has two origins, one for each form I guess we should get to work on one for Landorus.

So far it would appear Landorus' new forme is Mammalian in nature, where Tornadus is Avian and Thundurus is Reptilian/Dinosaur like.

Anyways Here's what I have for the Origins Section, Its not much but we got to start somewhere.

In Reijuu Forme, Landorus seems to be based off of a predatory mammal, most likely a tiger or other large feline.

As before, let me know if this is up to code, and sorry if I seem a little too proactive on this subject. Yamitora1 23:16, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Opinion on Kami Trio having items, tools and/or weapons in their design

This has been kind of nagging at me for the last hour, and I don't know why. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who sees it, but I see tools/weapons integrated into the Kami Trio's designs.

Landorus' Hair and Reijuu Forme Tail = a hammer ( more likely whatever that huge hammer Dwarves use is called) Thundurus's tail = Mace/whip and Tornados = I guess some kind of whip or maybe a shillalah. I kinda of see a rolled up Party blower design as well, but that's a little bit of a stretch even if he's based on wind

what's your opinion on it, and if you do see something how noteworthy is it? I feel the Physiology is very nicely filled out as it is, but if there is some element of their design we missed we should add it in. (still waiting on seeing if Reijuu Forme Landorus has a gem on its belly, and if so, what color.) Yamitora1 14:06, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Landorus's gem is beige. You can see it in the artwork between its back legs. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 15:07, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Sacred Beast Forme abilities

This isn't just about Landorus, but all three of the Kami trio.

Is it me or is the hidden ability listed for both formes? The hidden ability is only available for the Incarnation formes. The Sacred Beast formes only have 1 ability for each of them (Regenerator, Volt Absorb and Intimidate). Metalizard (talk) 03:10, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Reveal Glass

Does the Therian Landorus have to be from the Dream Radar to obtain the Reveal Glass? I only ask this because I'm playing a ROM hack that allows all 649 Pokemon to be obtained without outside communication (WiFi or otherwise), and one of the encounters in this hack is a Therian Landorus, but nothing seems to happen upon taking it to the shrine. Schiffy (talk) 15:39, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Shouldn't Meloetta be considered the true master?

Shouldn't Meloetta be considered the Kami Trio's true master. Yeah its just in the anime, but we consider Lugia the bird trio's master and that was in a movie.

Plus as Ho-oh proves, you don't have to be in the same form or species as the trio to be their master; after all, Ho-oh is the master for the beast trio and its a bird, not a dog/cat or beast.

This is also on the Meloetta talk page. Yamitora1 (talk) 18:42, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Not Completely Necessary, But...

If Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus are all 100% male, should "it" when referring to them changed to "he"? - unsigned comment from RespectThePixel (talkcontribs)

Nope. Standard policy is to use singular, gender-neutral pronouns. Crystal Talian 04:26, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
An individual would be "he", but since most of the article refers to the species as a whole, "it" is the correct term. Species are not gendered even if all the individuals of a species are the same gender. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 03:45, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Origins / Trivia

Tornadus's trivia / origin entries could be updated with an excerpt from the following Ken Sugimori quote from the May 2011 issue of Nintendo Dream Magazine (referring to the whole Forces of Nature trio):

“Mr Masuda asked for Pokemon based on Fūjin and Raijin, but the designs weren’t completed until late in the games’ development. I had a hard time figuring out how gods so closely resembling humans could become Pokemon. Asura statues have a really powerful presence, so I told the designer in charge to make their eyes large and intimidating. At first, Tornadus and Thundurus were designed as red and blue demons, but that was too similar to the designs of Sawk and Throh. As a result, Sawk and Throh’s horns were removed and replaced with eyebrows. Landorus wasn’t added until later when a change was made during the game’s development — he was designed as the god of land. In their official artwork, Tornadus and Thundurus are facing to the side, while Landorus is more symmetrical and facing forward — this was done to make Landorus stand out from the other two.”
