- Look, that's nice, but our encounter rates are found by extracting data from the game, not through large-scale trials. If you were trying to prove something else, pleese reply here, because I don't know what your point is. --SnorlaxMonster 03:10, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

New Evolution?!
I found a video on youtube (which I immediately lost, sorry) which showed a picture of an upcoming magazine containing info on X & Y, and it shows Larvitar evolving into Pupitar, followed by TWO evolutions of Pupitar, one of which being Tyranitar, and the other being a silhouette. There's no info of this on the page, though I guess it might belong on Pupitar's page, so... am I the first to find it, or am I slow (as usual)? Nutter Butter (talk) 02:46, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Name origin
I know that Larvitar comes from larva, Pupitar comes from Pupa and Tyranitar comes from Tyrannosaurus, but what does the "tar" mean? Christian (talk) 04:17, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Probably the tarasque, as stated in the other talk pages. My question is why is it ok to mention the tarasque for Larvitar and not for the rest of its evolutions? Especially if we are supposed to remove pop culture characters like Godzilla, seeing that is the only other origin that seems to stick. ----NateVirus(Talk|Contributions) 17:23, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
