Zacian (Japanese: ザシアン Zacian) is a Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.
While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, it has a second form activated by giving Zacian a Rusted Sword to hold. Its original form, Hero of Many Battles, will then become the Fairy/Steel-type Crowned Sword.
Zacian is the game mascot of Pokémon Sword, appearing on the boxart.

|
According to legends, Zacian is believed to be the elder sister or rival of Zamazenta. It is also known as Fairy King's Sword by friends and foes due to it cutting down anything in one strike. It can turn itself into a statue in order to slumber until need and is capable of flying. When together with Zamazenta it can negate the power of Eternatus, even in its Eternamax State. By absorbing the metal particles in the land, it can change its form. It can also cast illusions including a projection of itself even when asleep. Zacian can attack so gracefully the movements can captivate its opponents, which has been compare to a graceful dance. The sword it holds in its mouth can cut through anything with a sharp edge capable of harming even the thick scales of Dragon-type Pokémon as if they were just paper. When Zacian slashes its opponents it moves faster than the blinking eye, thus those struck down by its sword will not feel the pain until they fall down. When using its signature move, it can cut the ocean in two.[1] Zacian can sheathe its sword when not in use by wrapping it with its mane.
Zacian is the only known Pokémon capable of using Behemoth Blade.

Trivia
- Crowned Sword Zacian has the highest base Attack stat of all Fairy-type Pokémon and the highest base Speed stat of all Fairy-type and Steel-type Pokémon.
- Crowned Sword Zacian is the heaviest Fairy-type Pokémon.
- Despite being a genderless species, Zacian is referred to as Zamazenta's older sister in its English, Japanese, and Chinese Pokédex entries; other languages use a neutral word.
- The sprite for Crowned Sword Zacian shows the sword facing inwards, whilst the concept art and the model has it facing outwards.
Origin
Zacian may be based on one of the two chimeras designed on the golden hilt of King Arthur's sword Excalibur. This weapon was first named in Culhwch and Olwen, a Welsh Arthurian tale about how the king slew the chief of the giants. Its role as a warrior aiding a king may take inspiration on the Knights of the Round Table. In addition, Zacian's feminine nature may be a reference to the Lady of the Lake, the character responsible for giving King Arthur his sword, and its relationship with Zamazenta may allude to the relationship between King Arthur and his sister Morgan le Fay.
It may also be based on Ascalon, the sword or lance used by Saint George, England's patron saint, to slay a venomous dragon. On top of that, it may be based on the hero King Beowulf, from the epic poem Beowulf. His name means "war wolf" and he wields Hrunting, a sword made to kill giants, what may be the origin of its signature move, Behemoth Blade.
Name origin
Zacian may be derived from the cyan.
