Topsy-Turvy (Japanese: ひっくりかえす Flip) is a non-damaging Dark-type move introduced in Generation VI. Prior to Generation VIII, it was the signature move of Inkay and Malamar.

Effect

Generation VI

Topsy-Turvy reverses all stat stage changes on the target Pokémon, making positive changes negative and vice versa. If all the target's stat stages are neutral (equal to 0), Topsy-Turvy fails.

Topsy-Turvy does not reverse stat changes that are not based on stat stages, e.g. the Speed drop from paralysis.

Because Topsy-Turvy changes stats rather than raising or lowering them, it is unaffected by effects such as Mist or Abilities such as Simple, Contrary, and Clear Body. It does not activate Defiant or Competitive.

Topsy-Turvy has an accuracy of 100%.

Generation VII onward

Topsy-Turvy now bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

If powered up by a Darkinium Z into Z-Topsy-Turvy, the user's Attack stat rises by one stage.
