A Starf Berry (Japanese: スターのみ Star Fruit) is a type of Berry introduced in Generation III.
In the core series games
Price
In the Generation V games, the Starf Berry can be sold to the gourmet maniac on Route 5 for $30,000.
Effect
Held item
A Starf Berry randomly raises the holder's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, or Speed by two stages when the holder's HP drop to ¼ or below. If the holder has Gluttony, then it eats its Starf Berry when its HP drops to ½ or below. If the holder has Ripen, then the chosen stat rises by four stages.
When forcibly consumed via Fling, Pluck, Bug Bite, or Item Urge, it randomly raises the Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, or Speed of the consumer by two stages.

Trivia
- In Generation III, the colors of the Starf Berry's star match the five flavors: red for spicy, blue for dry, pink for sweet, green for bitter, and yellow for sour. For unknown reasons, the pink was changed to orange in Generation IV.
Origin
The Starf Berry's design and name may be based on a starfruit.
